How much did you spend in 2004 on skydiving
ChileRelleno replied to reddevil1's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Well over $2000.00 but less than $10,000.00... I couldn't even begin to add it up what with all the extras that relate to skydiving. ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868 -
Dios mios! Once again this thread gets pulled out of the DZ.com archives. Family pride (sniff, snuffle -n- wipe a tear from my eye) aint it great! Y'all keep up the chatter I love hearing my family whisper sweet nothings and blatant sexual innuendos to each other. And if your new to the RB's or a RB who's new to DZ.com or just this thread... Sound off and introduce yourself! ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868

Waazzup! Yes, I fondly remember that weekend of jumping, I remember that particular load on my truck too. Man did I have fun with that, everyone thought it was a bomb meant for aerial delivery and I played that line all the way from upstate New York to Seattle Washington ! I also very proudly remember the birth of my son "Michealangelo" RB#611 a.k.a. Mike Stone... (Chile shouting) "Yo Mikey... Ya out there reading this, ya better reply, ya little mexican bastard! Who's ya Padre!?" Some other things that made that weekend such a memorable weekend; A looong spot (from some non-RB bastard) that had me landing over at the neighboring dairy farmer, amongst his cows... They were very curious, reminded me of that Cypres advertisement with all the cows looking up. The barbecue we had that night, watching videos, socializing with new friends and last but not least and yet once again....... getting to do a RB initiation. When/If i get back that way, I'll stop and say "HI!" and we'll get ya jumped, initiated, named and numbered as a RB. ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868

I reported a discrepancy to my companies payroll, it was in my favor for $65.00 on a hotel reimbursement. Lady in payroll asked a few questions and sighed saying it would be a hassle and if I didn't say anything she wouldn't, turns out it'd been cleared/signed off by two departments and if they hadn't caught it "Oooh well". BOOYAH! ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868

Jumpers not learing about gear?
ChileRelleno replied to cvfd1399's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Knowledge is Power Knowledge is Safety "I" have the "Power" to be "Safe"! This is way too common, lots of skydivers are ignorant of in-depth gear knowledge. I don't mean masterrigger stuff, just more than "If I don't cock my collapsible, I'll have a P/C in tow." and ect... ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868 -
Which requires crazier skills?
ChileRelleno replied to funks's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'd have to say Jeb flying the wingsuit in close formation with the VX39 required more skill than holding the VX39 steady, BUT! (A big but) landing the VX39 requires more canopy skills than probably any 100 average canopy pilots/skydivers combined. Not saying it doesn't take mad skills to fly VX39, just saying that IMO the wingsuit flight took more skills. ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868 -

I had to vote "Dummy"... Why you ask? Because you really give a shit what others think of your clothes! How vain! How dumb! And who really gives a damn?\ Wear what ya wanna wear and by the way it looks OK to me, but then old jeans-n-tyedye is my preference. licenced jumpers who signed some of my jumps
ChileRelleno replied to chuteless's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I've gathered a few "Names" in my logbook in my travels, not alot of "oldtimers" but a few along with some of the more current "names" in our sport... A couple of months ago I stopped by Archway and made some RW jumps with Lew Sanborn, I enjoyed the priviledge of jumping with this "oldtimer" immensely! I eagerly asked for Lew to sign my logbook, to me this is a auotgraph from living history just as Bill Ottley's (no jump, just sig) was. I cannot understate my respect, awe and admiration for these guys and others... They are skydiving... ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868 -
Skydive Temple had LOTS of gear stolen
ChileRelleno replied to faulknerwn's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Dagblasted gear thieves! And this is obviously not an ordinary gear thief! I just saw this post Wendy, give my regards to the folks there and remmeber I'd happily take the schmuck for a drag behind my truck before stringing'em up texas style. Are you on it with logging your jumps?
ChileRelleno replied to SkydiveNFlorida's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Logging is very important to me, I log all my jumps, usually at the end of the day. I use a rubberstamp for RW and for new states or memorable jumps I do some artwork on the page. New states (40 so far) usually get a artistic map/picture of the state, with the capitol, location of jump, something the state is known for (ie Idaho had pic of a potato) and distinct landmarks (mtn's, rivers or ect..) Memorable jump artwork usually depicts the event ect... Some of y'all have seen my logbook, after 40 states and 80 DZ's... Its unique ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868 -
Don't believe everything you read, without researching every statement in depth, without finding the context in which every speech clip was given and always, always, realize that such articles are written by those opposed to said subject and may be strongly biased. Ya did good girl and learned a important lesson, your here to talk about it. Those instincts may have helped you, but training and set procedures will do alot more. ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868

I think it (larger canopy) would have to be a under a fair amount of wing load and have a major structural failure or one side of the canopy twisted in to the lines, or some such. But if you make some extreme control input you can get some rather wild reactions even in a larger canopy with a med - high WL'g. Imagine this... New upjumper with 30 odd jumps decides to experiment (above normal deployment altitude of course), he's jumping a 210 that he borrowed at a 1.2:1 WL (He's a bigboy). He decides to take a couple wraps of a steering line with the toggle so as to get a more extreme control input, puts as much as he can into the turn into the turn trying to get some wicked spirals and the canopy spins up the lines locking the control input in place. If this is sustained (No appropriate E-procedures) and continues to build speed this jumper could experience pretty much the same subject scenario that we've been discussing. This sport is unforgiving, you can do everything right and still die, if you decide to screw around... You might get screwed! And Bush says no draft??? What do you call this?
ChileRelleno replied to Segador's topic in Speakers Corner
Yep, he sure did, he had the balls to do what the others only sta around full of bluff and bravado talking about. Ya know Kerry and alot of others did more than talk camly about it, they made speeches, loudly proclaiming how dangerous these WMD's were and how "Something" needed "Had" to be done about them. They had been doing saying these things about SH/Iraq since well before Gulf War 1, well some folks do more than talk, some peolpe, we call them leaders, have the gumption to make the call, to take action when others just talk about it. Ah heck Deli, you sound like you'd probably call participation in a texas style Star Crest ceremony humiliating. Now I know that I'm not gonna change your mind about pieing or anything else for that matter, your most likely like a old dog set in his ways, beliefs and routines and are gonna growl at me even if I'm holding a milkbone pie. Pieing is not, "not," supposed to be humiliating. As we've talked about it here its supposed to be a ritual, a rite of passage, FUN! Not nasty concoctions or pieing people who "really" do not want to be pied, most of those who get chased are making a game out of it in the first place. Granted some people will go overboard or pie anybody, even people they don't know, tying somebody to a chair and fifty people pieing them is not fun or funny... I wholeheartedly agree. My post was started in goodnature, jokingly, and your getting your hackles up. Go growl and howl elsewhere... Either that or go make me a hoagie, Deli. Blueskies to you also, may we meet and jump together and have fun doing it. Sincerely, Chile Relleno Rodriguez RB#414 ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868
