  1. In Zhills, we still have our Christmas lights on, but we're rednecks.
  2. One of the primary premises of capitalism is the most intelligent application of resources. That includes human resources. From the standpoint of the government, it is institutional slavery. Lots of people at sub-standard compensation. Throwing masses of people into roles is rarely done in an effective manner. Right now, private business is complaining about a lack of people with higher education. Pushing that educational process back an additional four years is not in the best interest of the country.
  3. There are cynics, and there are people who appear to be cynical. It is hard to tell the difference. Sometimes, it is just an easy job. Cynics are right, part of the time. That pisses some people off because they don't want to concede even a part. Hard core cynics believe they are right all of the time, so they expand their generalizations to include all the population. That pisses off the realists, because they accept that though there are destructive portions of any population, but it is not true for all. The biggest problem is that people are selfish, lazy, and dishonest too much of the time. They take the easy route to their goals - and that makes the cynics right too much of the time. That is too bad. Most people are secret realists. Even though Leykis is primarily a jerk-for-hire shock-jock, everyone secretly knows an individual just like what he describes, and that is disappointing.
  4. I'll take "Ways to Hide Baldness" for $100, Alex. That makes perfect sense. The shift from poor ettiquette to vanity. Of course, there is always the identity crisis. "Yes, I am wearing the Nike hat to identify myself as a premier golfer with lots of faux class (but little hair and couth)."
  5. The Joker I attached a couple of pics. One is the latest of some Mickey Rourke shots. He looks as if he is trying to be greasy and pseudo-psychotic looking. Why would someone do that? Why would someone dress up like... The Joker? I compared him to the Heath Ledger pics. Identical. Now that Heath is out of the future pictures, it is a big career move for Rourke. Hats - What is the deal with wearing hats in restaurants? Any kind. I was always told to take my hat off indoors. Tonight, probably 30% of the patrons of a pizza place were wearing baseball caps. A few others were wearing cowboy hats. Now, it is 7pm at night... we are indoors to boot. We don't need a cowboy hat to keep the sun out of our eyes this evening. No rain inside the restaurant. Hats must be a sign of an identity crisis. "In case you can't tell, I am rootin' tootin'. "
  6. accessories that excite Nothing would go better with those spiffy fish-cleaning gloves than a good set of waders. The covergirl for 2005 is my favorite.
  7. Yes, when I was 16, I worked in a packing house. Stacking boxes of tomatoes on to a pallet. There were migrant farm workers who followed the crops around the country. These were not illegals. There wasn't a lot of "homeless" at the time. They were called hobos. All that meant was that you followed the work. I worked with them during the season.
  8. The way I look at it, most people want to keep their house. They wanted nothing more than to go to work, to keep their job, and pay their mortgage. However, there are politicians who have supported the destruction of the working class in the US. As jobs leave, so does the ability to pay a mortgage. Until people can hold jobs in the US, there is no "program" or "bailout" that will actually help. So far, all the Wall St bailout did was make sure that rich people didn't lose money. It hasn't helped the other 99% of the US. For some reason, Canada didn't have a banking system collapse. Why is the US rewarding the thieves that caused the problem?
  9. I get to pick who they are. Me! Me! Me! Pick M.............................. fuck. If I tell racist jokes, somebody gets offended. If I tell redhead/blonde/brunette jokes, somebody... If I tell nationality-related jokes... If I tell stupid jokes, nobody seems upset.
  10. The Japanese Coi never seem to get used to it.
  11. The Flash sees Wonder Woman sunning naked on the beach. He races over, is done in an instant, and races off. The Invisible Man rolls off of her and says, "What the hell was that?"
  12. An actual picture of Obama and me.
  13. Freud covers that in chapters 3 thru 8.
  14. He wears vinyl boots, tights, a cape, and his underwear on the outside. That boy ain't right.
  15. ...and that is exactly the reason that a letter from the Pope only carries only so much weight. I doubt that Pelosi cares the smallest amount. Politicians tend to be calloused in their religion. Religion is just a tool for posturing, photo opportunities, and vote-stumping. Saint William Perhaps he had forgotten recent events... like Carter. That's quite a "baseline". I think that he's admitted to breaking 9 out of the 10 commandments. (Nobody really liked Vince Foster anyway.)
  16. True. Without nipples, breast would be pointless. the dating scene -from todays news Women like a "take charge" kind of guy. And... considerate. Sure... an attempt at suffocation, but no assault. See? There are still decent guys out there. What was he thinkin'? "I can't wait to get this chick home, put a diaper on her, and read the Bible to her. That is so hot."
  17. My cat thought that was HOT She is quite the sexy pussy though, huh??? g I'll bet she has a lot of explaining to do if she ever hacks up a furball.
  18. Ahh... second-degree murder. He "accidentally" cut off her head. Sheez... he does so much good for the community and then makes one little mistake - now that's all people want to harp on.
  19. If this was done today, there would be a website called "Where's DB?". Similar to Where's George? Washington state is not too far from Canada... Stroll into Canada, exchange it. Or go to a non-US casino. I'm not sure how well that would work, but I live in Florida, so it's not exactly news. I'm sure the FBI has considered how "challenging" that it is to launder money. "Bring in $200K in small bills and we'll give you a free toaster with your new account."
  20. Script sheet for the creation of any 1970s kung-fu move: The: a) mother b) girlfriend c) sister of a local nice-guy/kung fu instructor is: a) kidnapped b) killed c) attacked by: a) the local gambling kingpin b) the local drug kingpin c) a mysterious ne'er-do-well with a grudge against the good kung fu instructor's father.
  21. So they are. They must be very evil. We're talking about the Oil industry, not the Housing market. demand in oil is highly inelastic. increase in demand for crude will always cause an increase in price which usually causes more profit due to the demand vs. price. Unless you think they should suffer just because everybody else does. You can complain about it or be proactive. Buy some of their stocks. Don't be a victim. I wasn't complaining about that. I was pointing out your misinterpretation from the following line: As long as everyone understands that they didn't "lose" 33%. It wasn't a "loss". It was just 33% less than a world record setting profit. Almost no other corporation has done nearly that well. Their profit was nearly $8 billion in ONE quarter. Also, it has to be 33% of "something". I am unsure if you are not reading correctly, or merely doing some selective snipping. Either way, a good discussion is based on facts and you seem to be creating a bias through your ommissions. Pointing out your misrepresentations is not complaining about Exxon, it is complaining about your posts.
  22. Sure, but where else can you discuss that? "Today's sermon is on the topic of... fart jokes..."
