  1. An old favorite is ping-pong ball distance competitions, but you can't do those on a stage.
  2. I have a problem remembering rhymes at exciting moments, so I came up with my own. It relies more on common knowledge. On a street light, red is stop, and yellow is caution. If I see a snake where "stop" and "caution" touch, it is a bad idea.
  3. Not at all. Not even a little bit. This wasn't some silly hiccup. It was a $3 trillion difference. Not an unplanned blip in some campaign rhetoric. Let's see... the "minor math oversight" is "no cost" vs "the largest tax increase in history" (Obamas words). And you believe that? Uh-huh. Sign up for Flock-Leader. The difference was the McCain proposal, as stated, was workable and would not cost the taxpayer. The Obama campaign stated that it was the largest tax increase in history. My biggest question... Why aren't these budget wizards using the McCain plan ? What is not a shock to read? That Dems have always been ok with it. Go ahead, type, "it was wrong to lie". Tryyyy...
  4. Too much fun... Thursday - 6 20-way speed jumps and 2 30-ways. Friday - 4 30-ways and 2 60-ways. Weather crapped out on the weekend.
  5. That is a tax of an equal amount. Since probably no country in the world uses that method, it is unimportant and tangental to discuss it. It would be best to discuss equal tax as an equal tax rate. A percentage. For example, if everyone paid 4% of their gross income.
  6. I have boogie videos from WFFC that go back to 96 or 97. There was plenty of nudity and whatever. Those videos had limited circulation though. With the internet, digital cameras, and camera phones - your life is just a Google search away. I've probably been in a few pictures that people wouldn't approve of. In the past, personal weirdness, that should not be shared, happened at a campsite or trailer - out of public view. I don't think that things will change that much.
  7. Edward Norton appeared in: Fight Club Pride and Glory probably his best was Primal Fear. many, many plot turns.
  8. That is totally incorrect. From Factcheck.org "...more than offset by McCains tax credits." The Obama campaign misrespresented the facts by excluding the tax credit. Then, they attacked it as a huge tax hike when it was obviously not. First off - all the online sources are referring back to the original source. the NY Times There are hundreds of links/references and analysis being done. I just picked one. From the first lines of the NYTimes article: In the many, many articles, the Obama staff is careful to not take a stand. "Everything is on the table." Newsmax The McCain plan taxed health benefits with the tax offset. Obama attacked it as a huge increase when it was not AS McCain described it. Obama's plan is McCain's plan without the tax credit. So, it becomes the huge tax increase that he attacked so hard during his campaign. Since he said he wouldn't raise taxes... now he can't state that he supports it, just that he'll sign it. The best part is when his staff appear on tv and spend all their time dodging direct questions on the topic.
  9. the plan Don't you love the title of the article? President Flip-Flop has painted himself into a corner by supporting a plan that was a cornerstone of his attack on McCain. Forbes magazine So, this is Flip-Flopping on two fronts. 1- A major change in how his health care program will work. 2- A change in his "no new taxes for Americans" promise. So, journalists and economists everywhere seem to be discussing the NY Times report as credible news. Only the O-sheep don't want to discuss it. Understandable...
  10. Ok... according to what you typed above... - there is no plan. - O hasn't proposed anything. But, you are able to tell me the content of the proposal that doesn't exist? You are absolutely certain that it will contain a base allowance (tax credit)? Because that was in the McCain plan that Obama ripped during his campaign. Remember when Biden did the math on that, during the Biden-Palin debate? Biden referred to taxing health care, WITH the tax credit, as the "ultimate bridge to nowhere". click to hear it in his own words So, you are certain that this is Obama's plan? (Or, as others are calling it, the McCain plan.)
  11. Actually, this is not the same as McCains tax plan. McCain's plan included a tax credit to offset the cost. Therefore, the cost would be less. McCain openly stated this during his campaign. The Obama plan does not have a tax credit. It is a great deal more expensive to the taxpayer. The interesting part is that Obama criticized the McCain plan as a huge tax increase, when it wasn't. Obama framed it as being without the tax credit. Now he is promoted the version without the tax credit, the worst version, that he criticized. The O-cult isn't really discussing this major flip-flop.
  12. Ummm... they were guaranteed loans. When your co-signer is the govt...
  13. I saw about a zillion people walking around with cameras. I am surprised that more pics haven't been posted. There were a lot of "people hanging out" social pics and some nice jump shots. I saw some superb (pro-quality) pics of our 6-way on a pc.
  14. You are all free to run for President yourself on the platform that you will raise taxes Some things you can change, others you never will. Actually, McCain did. He stated that he was in favor of taxing health benefits (currently not taxed), but with a tax credit offset. So, he did state that. The tax credit would offset a large part of the tax increase. So, he spoke the truth about his plans up front. During the campaign, Obama criticized that plan as a huge increase in taxes, while not mentioning the offset. That was an obvious lie that was identified by Factcheck.org. (All documented, but nobody wants to discuss the facts.) Now, Obama is supporting the McCain tax plan (which will tax most Americans), but without the tax credit. This plan is the plan that Obama criticized. Why isn't anyone criticizing Obamas tax plan when it is actually the one that Obama criticized? I have no idea... ...someone swinging a thurible and leading the unquestioning faithful sheep down the aisle. Wondering where the kOOl-aid is for the O-sheep...
  15. The entire article details the wealth building of many English families. Africans were involved in the slave trade, some to this day. Countries had a long history of selling prisoners of war as slaves. The English became their newest customers. If the British are concerned about racial injustice, it is time that they stepped forward to address a problem that established the wealth of some in their country. (Between slavery and drug dealing in China, there's not a lot of moral high ground to criticize others.)
  16. At one point, bankers gave loans based on facts. Then, someone said, "Hey, let's relax those guidelines so that more people can get loans, even though they are not fiscally able to repay them." It turns out that those programs were bad ideas.
  17. So it's ok for Obama to do whatever he wants because Pesidents before him have done the same. The logic, or lack thereof, is astounding. Not only is there no change, but his actions are now being defended as a lack of change. It is a way of avoiding personal accountability for actions. "...but Mom... everyone was doing it." In this fashion, no action or topic can ever be discussed.
  18. From March 14th, NY Times...tax changes for 95% of Americans The revised plan. It contains a lot of facts that are worth discussing, but nobody seems to want to.
  19. Good job. Lots of fun. Two words, though. Porta-potty. Manifest/packing would have been less crowded for you if you put two or three porta-potties outside. That created a lot of traffic for you. Anyway, lots of good times. Made new friends. Got to visit with old friends. Did a mystery jump with Andy. Chunked an 8-way off the otter. Turned mucho points on a nice 6-way. Flung myself out of the plane with a bunch of people. Had a nice safe weekend. The MB chatted with the locals and didn't freak them out. Some questionw... How do we call Billy to the dirt dive? How do I keep the POPS people from wandering off? Was that group on Sunday, the Ga para-hiking team?
  20. The opportunity has presented itself, had a skydiver been on board: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aloha_Flight_243 http://www.tc.gc.ca/CivilAviation/publications/tp185/2-07/Images/Maintenance1.jpg In that situation, I would probably prefer to take my chances with my parachute, rather than stay with that crippled plane. I remember al the good tasteless jokes after that Aloha accident: Would you like smoking or non-smoking? Patio seating? Large gaping hole or no large gaping hole? To a nearby passenger, "Could you sign my logbook now, just in case you don't make it ?" To the flight attendant, "Could you tell the pilot to give me 5 left?" Also - whenever I fly with my rig, it goes in the overhead, in my gearbag. However, the chances of getting it out of the overhead and put on are slim. In the little puddle jumpers, where I put my gear under the seat ahead,... maybe.
  21. How can a woman tell if she has small breasts? If she puts her bra on backwards and it fits the same, but more comfortable on the shoulder blades.
  22. I had a conversation last weekend with a tandem passenger. She turned to her friend and jokingly gave her the, "If anything happens..." speech. I told her, "Make sure she puts your Toy Box in the trunk before the parents arrive." and got two embarrassed, thoughtful looks in response. "Oh... that too. God, I've never thought of that." Toys, pics, naughty stuff. Make sure that a good friend will plop it into a bag and haul it away quietly. Kind of a downer of a topic, but we plan for everything else. Besides, I wanted to talk about her naughty bits.
  23. clicky Dodd is chairman of the Senate banking committee.
  24. ROTFLMAO. was this a serious statement, or just sour grapes from a loser? Should he have voted for McCain too, just to be super fair? Shall we recount the honesty of the election of the past 40 some presidents? Serious? As serious as a heart attack. That is the f-in basis of the whole democratic system. For your review, candidates state a platform of policies and the voters choose based on their statements. That is how it works. Of course, in discussions of character, there seems to be a dismissal of the topic with the tactic of a 6-yo, "...but Mom... everyone is doing it." McCain didn't. He stated his program. Let politicians take personal responsibility for their statements and their actions, regardless of their party. One politician at a time. If someone wants to discuss another politicians actions, then they can start a thread about it. Until then, comparisons are only valuable as a tactic to confuse and avoid actual discussion. A forum is for discussion.
