Sweden does have an extradition treaty with the US, so there won't be much of a problem to extradite him as long as he isn't going to be executed. True, but they would also need the permission of the UK to do so, in which case whats the point of the added step? Also he would still have to first face the charges which would have arraigned against him on return to Sweden. That being the case the USA would not get hold of him until A) The case was over and he was found innocent, in which case he could simply leave the country prior to the extradition request being processed. or B) After he came out of prison having been found guilty of rape and sexual misconduct.
