  1. Fair play to him. I shoot around three times a week so am not anti gun in anyway, although there really is no need for it in the UK if I lived in the USA damn straight I'd get a CCW permit. 6. LOL... I'm pretty sure that some people around here would 'stand their ground' and shoot the poor old bugger. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  7. Factually incorrect, Coronary disease is only one element of smoking related diseases. The chances of being fine and then arresting with no prior health issues are not that likely. Peripheral vascular disease due to smoking leads to chronic vascular complications including intermittent claudication, CVAs, TIAs, Emphysema to name but a few. The health and cost implications to a socialised medical system are huge. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. 9. A friend and I considered this several years back, but we didn't for the following reasons... a) Endangerment of the other passengers and pilot due to sudden weight difference in the basket. b) The Police being called to look for the 'body' of a suicide jump. (If they didn't see you exit how are they to know you're wearing a rig. c) In the UK these flights are often full of Saga types waiting to enjoy strawberries and champers, you could seriously give someone a heart attack. d) Its illegal and jumping in the day you're likely to get caught if the pilot calls 999. e) Tickets to do this legally are easy enough to obtain either here or in Spain or for a good holiday in the USA or elsewhere. This is a bad idea Skydiving s a small community in the UK, do this and don't be surprised to be banned from pretty much every Dropzone in the UK and have your ratings pulled. You'll be bringing us all in to negative media and do nothing good for the sport. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. 10. Interesting, do you have any figures on the firearm usage in incidents by CCW holders in your county? When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  11. A) He is a wanted criminal in the UK now due to breaking bail. B) No one said anything about the US not giving assurance that they will not guarantee they won't charge him, the argument up to now was that the UK and Sweden can not guarantee they won't extradite him to the USA if requested, there is a difference. I doubt that the USA is willing or in the mood to make any promises to this little scrot, indeed why the hell should they? If Julian Assange wants to live his life out in self imposed imprisonment in the Ecuadorian Embassy I doubt anyone in London or Washington is going to shed a tear over him. If he comes out then arrest him and let him face the judicial consequences of his actions just like the rest of us, if he is innocent of the rape allegation and sexual misconduct then justice will prevail. 19. Yeah, if you believe their training and methods were worth a shit. The were not. Apparently so, so what could we expect of even more poorly trained civilian CCW holders? Exactly. 20. I didn't ignore your point, it was the same as the one the Prof had already made and which I answered here... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4366177#4366177 As for the idea of answering questions from the embassy, he is wanted for arrest both here in the UK and also in Sweden on the original charges and also for breaking bail conditions. He is therefore a criminal and is subject to the law of both the EU and the UK. People wanted for arrest don't get to pick and chose where they answer questions from the police, let alone have some sort of psudo trail via Skype When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. 24. A 50 man strong police operation, costing 80.000/Day surrounding the embassy for someone who isn't even accused of a crime. The fact that Sweden nor the UK don't give any guarantees to Assange about extradition to the US. The refusal of Sweden to hear Assange about the rape-allegations in the embassy. To name a few things. Assange has turned this whole thing in to a circus the police were there partly for crowd control but also to make sure he doesn't escape. He has challenged the authority of the British Government on UK soil and by going into the Embassy he has broken the condition of his bail and therefore has committed a criminal offence within the UK. On arrival in Sweden he will be charged with the offences of rape and sexual misconduct as well. He is doing his best to embarrass the UK government and so its hardly surprising that they don't wish to be further embarrassed by letting him slip through the net. His high profile media game has upped the embarrassment factor and hence the determination to arrest him and prevent HM Gov looking weak. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  25. Because legally they would be making a pledge which they may not be able to keep. If the USA actually came up with charges against Assange and drafted a extradition notice which was in keeping with the current diplomatic agreements on extradition between the USA and the UK then the UK would be obliged to fulfil its obligations under such a treaty. However, the fact remains that the USA has not done so and seems to have no intention of doing so. This whole thing stinks like a kipper in an exhaust pipe. It stinks of a man who is desperate to avoid facing the music for alleged sexual crimes in Sweden.
