the bottom portion of my post was from the link provided. wasn't really about where he jumped. I was showing the parts where they no longer believe he was a chain smoker. I still think it's possible he was nervous causing him to smoke more than usual. it's really hard to just say he was a heavy smoker based on the time frame. the only way to judge this would be under normal conditions. this guy was threatening to blow up a plane. it's extremely fair to say he was nervous. anyway, the jumping part is another story in itself. I have another theory about that. "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' this would be with the assumption Cooper lived in this area correct? keep in mind the tie appears to have been used prior to this crime. Tie Tac holes are present in the tie prior to having the tie clip on it. how do we know he didn't fly into Portland under another name, or take a bus, hitchhike lol who knows......can we really assume he was from Portland/Vancouver? or do you have a different angle? I can't confirm this, but, Paul Geviett believes the Amboy chute was put there by the kids. they bought it at a surplus store and buried it. there is a little logic to this. they are claiming it was a cargo chute, correct? 33 feet in diameter with the lines cut. I found one online (Ebay) couple months back, I asked him what uncut meant in his headline about the chute. here is his reply. Hello, thanks for your question -- I believe the material is a silk like nylon material, the standard type for parachutes, stronger than silk and reinforced in the weave. A large military parachute with uncut lines is hard to find-- all surplus type parachutes have the cords cut prior to resale, this is a safety measure to make sure no one uses it for jumping etc., which is especially important for human use :) This is a cargo parachute only with uncut lines which means it could be used to drop supplies. It was used a few times by a boy scout leader, who hired a plane to drop the troops supplies at remote campsites ( I wish I could have been in that troop!). The uncut lines mean it is in perfect working condition and is very clean, orange and white. I find it strange that this chute was out in the middle of nowhere, with the lines cut? could Paul be correct in what he stated to me? FYI, a chain smoker lights a smoke soon after finishing the last one. zero evidence proving Cooper was a chain smoker. he would have smoked 8 in just over an hours time. probably a full pack in the 5 hour period. The hijacker could not have arranged for help on the ground or hidden a vehicle in the woods to escape in, as some Cooper sleuths have speculated, because he had no idea where he was when he jumped and apparently didn't care. He was also probably not a chain smoker or heavy bourbon drinker, two other popular staples of Cooper case lore. These have been some of the FBI's working assumptions for years. But this was a case of air piracy, not bank robbery, so the bureau largely kept them to itself. For all the public knew, D.B. Cooper was still probably a chain-smoking ex-paratrooper who was smart enough to plan and execute what may have been the perfect crime. http://blog.oregonlive.com/oregonianextra/2007/12/an_fbi_agent_parachutes_into_t.html "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' going down the stair forward or backwards would not change the way the stairs would react. The FBI has given a description of Cooper. he was not bald and ALL agree a wig was not worn. shall I direct you to the official description of Cooper? you have given the top 10,25 reasons why KC was Cooper, but, fail to come up with any hard evidence. you have given a media version as well as a complete package addressed to the FBI explaining your evidence. nothing has happened with all of your efforts. either prove KC was Cooper, or stop flogging a dead horse. you feel the need to poke at everyone else who has any type of theory or conclusions, meanwhile the one you have been speaking of goes against everything the FBI reports about Cooper? KC was not taller than Tina, KC was bald, the FBI and all the witness accounts agree Cooper had hair. (with a part included) I asked you a couple pages back to show the holes in the countertop that show hinges were on it? are you dodging the question? you seem to want to prove your theory that goes against everything and yet you then turn around and laugh at others who also go against what the FBI is stating? when I go after someone on this form I have some sort of evidence showing the reasons. you have nothing other than words against Robert99, just like a large portion of KC. nothing but a bunch of words. try allowing people to speak rather than letting the thread bottleneck with everyone commenting negatively against you. you constantly disrupt the form every time you post. Bob, your in another world and you know it. nobody believes a single typed word from you, period. you come back with insults vs proof. perhaps you could do better portraying Burl Ives. Duane WEber (Dan Cooper) was not a heavy smoker in those days. He couldn't afford the 30 cents a pack. When he could he smoked those tasteless light menthol rags. Given any other smoker he would always bum TWO cigarettes, one for now and one for later. He'd stick the second one behind his left ear and comment on he could smoke anything as long as it was free. He always bummed two. Why just ask for one? No yellow stains from smoking. He was directed to chain smoke Raleigh cigarettes, the type with the cupons, associated with hardened characters. He was NOT a Raleigh chain smoker. He was NOT a big drinker, perhaps a glass of sweet brandy, but not whiskey at that time. Not even Bourbon. Everything was made to look like something else. Nothing was for real. Anything found on that tie is another wild goose chase as the tie came from McCoy. Ask him. If you're so smart you should be able to make that call. I did it. He talked to me, so he'll probably talk to you. Just allow him the courtesy of being dead. (:o) Bob, as usual, you have zero proof of anything you say. you have been torn apart proving deception in your statements. nothing you say can be taken seriously.....it's laughable at the least. have a nice deceptive day Bobby..... yep, I can live with that....I just can't buy using that much caution in that day and age. "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' No matter what you tell them, they refuse to believe you" Agent Carr FBI

it's a good lead, but, keep in mind the fact we can't prove the tie was part of Cooper's daily clothing. many have mentioned that he could have got the clothing from a second hand store. it's hard to say for this time period. could Cooper have been so careful knowing the future could unlock things in a tie? doubtful. so, we are back to speculation on the clothing being his, or bought hours before he walked into the airport. I think the clothing was his and didn't take any of these factors into consideration that we now know about dozens of years later that he didn't see coming. doors were left unlocked, windows left open in those days. did anyone see that was a mistake in the 70's vs what we do today? I'm a tough cookie to sell... "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' I think you may be on to something... We know that Benezedrine was used to treat bronchial ailments.... Here is what a quick internet search provided on yellow nail syndrome... "Approximately 40% will also have bronchiectasis (lung disease). It is also associated with chronic sinusitis and persistent coughing. And then it said this...wow! "There is some evidence it may be caused by titanium, either implanted for medical reasons or through eating various foods containing titanium dioxide. In patients where titanium exposure was thought to be causative, recovery occurred over a period of several months." This is a stretch...but perhaps due to Coop's exposure to titanium he acquired yellow nail syndrome that required treatment with Benzedrine?? Would love for someone to follow up... personally, I just don't think we have enough info on Cooper. the FBI has the key. we know a shitload more was said on the radio transcripts. lots of things have been stretched to the extreme on just about every quote, all the way down to his description. we can only speculate on most of these things. sometimes something can be found doing this. its a shame the FBI will not release what they have. odds are Cooper is dead at this point, or very close to it if he is still alive. I think it makes them look more foolish holding all of this back. it's pretty obvious already Cooper zapped them good, wheather he made it or not. lick your wounds a release the files..... after reading this can we say Cooper had a health issue? Yellow-stained fingers from smoking has been identified by the British National Health Service (NHS), as a common side-effect. Caused by toxins found in tobacco, stains are not only cosmetically unsightly, but may also indicate a more serious smoking-related health-risk. Lung Disease More seriously, yellow fingers could indicate lung disease, a condition known as "yellow nail syndrome." Most commonly associated with lymphedema, a genetic disorder, it has been identified by the Maryland Medical Center as a symptom of lung disorders. A report, "Tobacco Use and Skin Disease," published in the "Southern Medical Journal" in 2001, also linked "yellow nail syndrome" to malignancies caused by smoking. so, is it a heavy smoker, or a serious health issue? Well, we can quibble over semantics in terms of what is a "heavy" or "chain" smoker. 8 cigarettes in 5 hours seems a lot to me. Based on this and other evidence, we can conclude that DB Cooper smoked, and smoked a lot. The flight attendant (don't know which one) described Coop's fingers as being "discolored from tobacco smoke". This is common especially with very heavy smokers. I have attached a picture as an example. Lastly, the information on Coop "jumping up and down" comes from SA Carr who said that both stewardesses described this behavior and said he acted "child-like" when the money was delivered. I have heard the "child like" reference before, but not the jumping up and down. I would conclude that skin tone plays a factor in the stains on the fingers. do you have any of these sources available? I don't think the smoking will tell anything if you ask me. he smoked, end of story is the way I see it. millions smoke and drink. as mentioned, you smoke more if you are nervous, so I doubt this area will tell much of anything. I know people who don't smoke until they drink. lots of variables again that point to nothing. I can't remember where, but I remember seeing reference to a phone /communication device in the lavatory of a commercial plane. Does anyone know if this is true on a 727 or any commercial plane? Attached is a picture of what I think is a accurate layout of the Cooper plane. (found on the net) personally I think he was afraid of being shot. possibly felt safer in the can. was the door shut all the way during the time he was in there? he's lucky someone didn't sneak on the plane and take him out. "Unfortunately DNA can contaminate also. Who's to say it's not Larry Carr's skin cells on that tie? Has he been excluded or all of the other who knows how many people who have handled it. What about cross contamination? Even with gloves if you just put all the stuff in a bag who's to say it doesn't capture DNA from another item." the DNA came from the tie clip, not the tie itself. Carr always had gloves on when presenting the evidence. if not mistaken the clip was taken off early in the investigation and put back on. they can't even confirm if it was a left hander that put it on upside down. I don't know how they handled it in the 70's. "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' 8 cigarettes is hardly a heavy smoker in 5 hour period. we have a factor to consider here. I don't care who you are, your going to be nervous. this will cause you to smoke more. I have smoked for years, but don't have marks on my fingers. perhaps it's a skin factor, I don't know. I haven't seen or heard about them talking about his fingers. where did you read this from? I don't recall any mention of him jumping up and down either. were did this come from? "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' My guess is 'maybe not'. Reason being if he was a long-term user of amphetamines his behavior probably would have been more bizarre than it was. 'Speed Freak' was a good descriptive term for those type of folks. Talking a million miles a minute, heavy sweating, paranoia, bizarro behavior, etc. Cooper didn't seem to exhibit those behaviors. Also, body odor was sometimes a problem.

I realize the error was immediate, but DB Cooper stood out more. the letters were sent to torment, poke the bee's nest as I like to call it. perhaps I'm different, but I would have signed it Dan Cooper and mentioned something about them getting the name wrong. just seems strange that the real Cooper would follow the media version by now using a double alias while trying to prove he is alive.... For the Record: My personal opinion on the letters is that none of them were sent by the hijacker. You should talk to a cop or two on this subject. They are used to this type of thing happening after a famous crime. The ones that are more likely real come from perps with deep-seated needs for unhealthy emotional gratification, making outright threats of more crimes of the same type, or as an attempt to justify their actions. This usually means serial killers, mad bombers, etc. Cooper may have been this or that, but I don't think he was a psycho. agreed, but these letters were sent to try and prove Cooper was alive. I would have also noted something that only Cooper would know. this seems to be the whole purpose of the letters. validating his survival.... the 'Aldi" guy who presented the Playboy connection seems to want to play hide and seek instead of coming forward. still not sure what his deal is, but it's interesting. all the letters are online ya know..... I think on some of these things there are two considerations. First, none of you were there during the interviews. Second, if you don't believe these folks, you should simply look them up and talk to them yourself. If you were actually serious about this, it could be arranged, although I would rather have a media person do it, a neutral one, if possible. Neither Jones or Margie Geestman had internet or a computer when I interviewed them. Fifteen minutes of fame? Jones wouldn't allow me to take her picture, or even voice-record her interview, which went on over a two-day period. Margie Geestman cashed out her ranch not long after the Decoded show aired and did it though a bank officer she swore to secrecy on her present location. (She didn't do it because of me, either. She knew in August 2010 that our last interview was complete and I wasn't returning.) Doesn't sound like they were looking for any fifteen minutes of fame on the Cooper case. There hasn't been a peep out of Geestman or any members of his family since that time, either. Dawn Andrusko's daughter (Bernie Geestman's niece) called me and said I had her uncle pegged correctly, and agreed he could have been involved. sorry Robert, I have no intentions of calling these people. he said, she said.....is not for me. the old saying comes to mind. "talk is cheap" I understand you did a lot of work on this, but, I just don't see anything. I don't see other people having to be there while you were interviewing either. the negativity mainly comes from the lack of any real proof. you seem to be caught up in a soap opera of events. I just spent about 30 minutes looking at old airline tickets. it appears they were all made out by one person. I know you have nothing to do with this part, but I'm sharing the post here I also spent some time on the letters. here's a question. how well did the public know of Dan Cooper vs DB Cooper from November 24, 1971 to lets say January 31,1972. I noticed all the letters are marked DB Cooper vs Dan Cooper, which one would think the actual Cooper would leave his mark by using his real "fake" name that was on the ticket? here is a couple of the tickets "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' Blevins, you can't be serious about this. Because KC was a "nice guy" and "they couldn't imagine him doing such a thing", he is immediately suspected of being Cooper? Meantime, Duane Weber, a convicted felon who had spent decades in multiple prisons, is immediately dismissed as a Cooper possibility despite the zealous efforts of his widow, Jo Weber, to pin the hijacking on him. Is there some logic in the above that I have completely missed? Or is it just plain book salesmanship? Robert99 I'm always amazed at how little Kenny's friends knew or were interested in anything about the DB Cooper hijacking even though it was such an infamous crime, happened in their backyard, and everyone else in the Northwest apparently was talking about it and, of course they, themselves, remember exactly what they were doing the minute it happened, and who was where. I mean, did no one even think to question whether maybe, just maybe, the friend looked up DB Cooper on the internet before going to the television guy and changing her story about what kind of cigarettes KC smoked. What part of 15 mins of fame didn't they understand? Not saying anyone would bolster their story but these memory breakthroughs are pretty darn convenient. it gives there story more merit by stating they had no knowledge of the crime, or knew very little about it. the average sheep will buy into it hook line and sinker. the more you know about it, the higher the flag goes up the pole. but if you play dumb, the sheep will take you right in.. sound like a bunch of people saying a bunch of things. how did you state this type of remark to Jo.....otherwise it's not evidence! I call it Hearsay.... like all the others who believe they know who Cooper is you are reaching out as far as you can based on words alone. without even being able to show how any of the extra money got into his account. you got nothing but speculation. without any pictures or the actual toupee. you got nothing but speculation. plus the fact of a topee and makeup being ruled out. can you show the holes in the Countertop showing this was a door at one point? what proof is there any insulation was in that attic that would even cover the Countertop? I'll start believing once you have something other than words...sorry. "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' Does it have wireless? Maybe she can hook a ride on her neighbor's network - get em back for all that nasty smoke. Ok....maybe not.... Seriously - Good offer Jo - take him up on it. You know if you don't this will just make us know that you like being a "woe-is-me-er". well, you can only grab the signal if it's not secure. most peeps lock them down now. My Mom had 2 people riding her signal for a long time before she found out. this was over 5 years ago. worth a shot though. Yeah, but I''ve been amazed at some people that I know - that should know better - that still don't have a secure network. I was at my husband's place of business one day and one of his long-time customers walked in and said I love this place -I can still get on the network as he proceeded to pull out his cell phone. Needless to say, and much to his chagrin, that was fixed before I left that day. And mrsmokin got an earful.

I can view medical DVD's but never tried to play music CD or view a DVD - wouldn't know where to start. It has Light Scribe DVD writer/CD writer on it but I don't know how to use it or what you use if for. I bought a portable DVD player - 9 inches to view DVD's other sent me. Expect I could view them on here, but do NOT have a clue how. I am a real DUMB ass when it comes to technology and remotes. I have a VCR that no one can figure out how to connect because of the converter box. Now that mean I have a really old TV. But it works. it will play DVD's. put the disc into the CD-Rom, a box will show up. double click on Media player and the DVD should start running. Thank You but the problem here is the operator (yours truely). I have a AMD dual care 3800 HP processor with 1 GB of memory and 200GB harddrive, windows XP. My problem is the dial-up, but that is okay it will see me thru...she is 7 yrs old, but she keeps on trucking. I just do NOT know how to use it...and I have AOL because I refuse to give up my filing cabinet! If I got one of those faster services I would have to continue to pay aol to access my filing cabinet. The AOL and the dial up and me are the problem - I think! I understand this machine is capable of things I do not understand. Not being able to see videos is the dial-up. you need to download the PDF reader for starters. even on dial-up you should be able to view videos. just takes longer to load. can you put a DVD in and play it? you probably don't have flash player loaded. lots of simple things to get it running a lot better. I bet you have years of cookies stored up that will slow the computer down, spyware etc. "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' nope, this would go against everything he states on his video. he takes 6 suspects and narrows it down to KC. nothing about his father. it boils down to KC......if you accept the computer you will be able to see videos. this would help with speculation.....
