What do you recomend for digital still camera?
Costyn replied to jasonRose's topic in Photography and Video
Okay, yeah I guess you're right there. It was just something in the wording that seems to indicate to me that this person is searching for a point&shoot... but yeah, there's no such (point&shoot) camera. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News -
Yes please!

I wonder if his idea of lightweight, compact and easy to use apply to the 400D. Yes, it is lightweight, compact and easy to use compared to a 5D or some other pro DSLR, but not compared to your regular point&shoot camera's. Of course, I too, recommend getting the 400D. I have the 350D, and I am very very pleased with it. Cheers Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News -
YEAH!!?? Hey James, where the f*ck is the video from that? It's gotta be on one of your tapes, cause you filmed. It was cool and very disturbing at the same time. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News

Don't listen to him! The parties and jumping in the Netherlands and Belgium will be WAY better than those in soggy England. Holland is the place to be for the Cochstedt pre-boogie! Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News

But seriously, if there's only ONE wingsuit boogie you go to all year, this is one you DO NOT want to mis. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News

Having a wingsuit and being able to fly it.

Damn, that sounds very sweet! How did you deal with not really being able to see the flyer below you? Or was the person on top the base? Cheers Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News

But the 201 does not have any map functions, which, I understood was one the original poster's wishes? To be able to use as a car navigation? Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News

Amen to that, bro! The more you learn about your camera and the theory behind photography, the better your shots will be (well, there is an artistic side too, but in general...) Yes, the 400D is an excellent camera to use as a first digital SLR. Cheers, Costyn. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News

Numbers numbers numbers! I want cold hard figures and GPS plots about this apparently amazing piece of kit called the Mach 1. Then lets talk about surface areas and drag etc etc. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News

recovering deleted files from memory card...
Costyn replied to skymedic's topic in Photography and Video
Exif Untrasher is AWESOME. It got all the images that were on my CF card after iPhoto had taken a dump on a series of very cool pictures (don't try to rotate pics when you are low on disk space). Highly recommended. If it gets you your pics back, leave a tip with PayPal. I did. -
That was a fun weekend. Unfortunately we didn't get to wingsuit that much. There were a lot of clouds and wind which made navigation quite difficult. We opted for some good old Atmonauti (even an atmonauti tandem, man that thing hauled ass!), which was a lot of fun! And of the course the party on saturday evening was a blast! Very cool! Unfortunately you need quote a lot of gear to be able to play. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News

PLEASE HELP!!!! - Sony PC Handycam Series
Costyn replied to dmcoco84's topic in Photography and Video
I've had exactly the same problem with my PC105. I was able to somewhat fix it (I took it apart and glued the plastic part that was broken), but it's not an optimal situation. I've posted to a local ebay-type site, asking if anyone has a old/broken PC105 which I could buy for parts. Because the camera itself is a nice camera. That said, if anyone in Europe has a PC105 that they want to sell (doesn't have to work), please let me know. Cheers, Costyn. I almost got the Sigma 15mm which so many people use, but I didn't like that you can't put a filter on the front, and the distortions (fisheye) are extreme. On the 10-22, even at 10mm there is virtually no distortion, which is amazing. Macca, yes, the Sigma wide angle zoom is very nice too. I'll check it out. Matt, I too prefer the 10-22. I like the zoom option and I have played around with the 15mm Sigma (thanks to Gadget!) and it's a very sharp lens, but for some reason it seems pictures are a slightly overexposed whenever using the sigma. Things appear too bright. I do not know why this is. Cheers, Costyn. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News

Yeah, and maybe think about using a different color scheme. Try to stick to a theme, don't use complementary colors. And border=1 on tables... well, lets just say I'm getting flashbacks to 1997... Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News

Yeah I've seen your gallery Matt, very nice pics indeed with the kit lens. I'm saving up to get the Canon 10-22 as well, the images are quite a bit sharper and clearer.
