  1. In addition to Tony Suit's Mach1, I'd have to say that the S-Fly Expert is very well built too. But I'm not going to comment on Tony Suit's color schemes. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  2. Nice video, lots of cool shots!! Way to fly between someone else's legs, James! Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  3. I guess I can post these too: Tristan's V2 and my Blade. As you can see the arm wing area does not differ at all. Although hard to see, the arm stance is a little higher on the Blade than the V2 (the leading edges of the Blade just peeks out in Vampire over Blade.jpg). The leg wing width is the same, but the V2 does have extra material at the tail end. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  4. Please do... As someone once said: "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence." Well unfortunately as much as some of us Europeans would like to join the Flock & Dock, we have only so much cash for attending boogies this year and the ones we're going to are all gonna be in Europe this year. 5. Interesting... do you have any GPS tracks or JumpTrack screenshots? You've been flying the suits for a while now, you must have some hard data for us? Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  6. I don't bother trying to shut anything down before deploying. Yeah the leg zipper is pretty short, indeed because the wing cutaway has to sit so low, but your solution is pretty smart. Don't think they'll be able to change it on current production Blades but perhaps on other suits in the future. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  7. I have it. I love it. Great unit, does what is advertised and does it well. My only regret is that I don't have enough times to use it (I don't go on camping trips or hiking in the wilderness for example). Works well for wingsuiting purposes; you have to figure out the settings first, and see what works well for keeping the signal in the plane, but it's not rocket science.
  8. Very nice! Good flocks and excellent views. I enjoyed watching that. Cheers Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  9. The only problem is that if the camera decides it wants to deploy the flash and it is taped down, it will report an error code and not take any pictures *at all* until you switch it off and on. So, make sure you have a setting where the camera does not automatically open the flash when taking pictures. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  10. Seeing as it was my video, I'll reply:
  11. Only with the beta, but I couldn't really find my way around. I'm an iPhoto fan. I'm still evaluating Aperture. I like a lot of the features in it, but other things (like thumbnail overview), I prefer using iPhoto for. The nice thing is that import from iPhoto to Aperture, especially all the metadata (ratings, albums, keywords), is seamless. How about yourself? What do you use? Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  12. On Mac, iPhoto is pretty good. But with half a terabyte worth it sounds like you might be better off with pro apps like Apple's Aperture or Adobe Lightroom. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  13. Yeah that picture does look very familiar. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  14. Yep, it was J-Lo Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  15. Very cool man! You've become very inventive with the lack of other people to flock with. I think you've done some stuff hardly ever tried by anyone else, like joining freeflyers? Thats nuts man! You make me wanna go out there now and try that stuff myself. I have of course done stuff like join tracking dives and canopy flybys, but rw and freefly, thats just cool! And the diving and planing out sounds really cool too. You should get/borrow/loan a gps sometime, see what your trajectory looks like. Cheers, Costyn. 16. Well, I still have my Classic II and S6, I wouldn't mind sticking streamers on either of those. And yeah, it'd be cool to do some experiments. I'd be up for that! Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  17. Thanks Andi, that was really insightful. Actually, this whole thread is! So where did you attach the wool threads? At various parts along the upper skin? That would indeed be an interesting experiment. I'm gonna have to try that sometime. So when would you be flying optimally? When the threads are or are not dancing around? If they're dancing around it means we're getting the vortices right? Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  18. Who's gonna pay for that? Do you know how expensive wind tunnel time is? Yes, some suits have been tested in a wind tunnel, but the Blade and the Vampire have not been tested in the same conditions in the same windtunnel There are just way too many variables involved to come up with a reasonable objective answer. A wingsuit is not a fixed wing glider. Even if you started to measure say wing area. Where do you start measuring? At the seam where the leg wing attaches to the bootie? Or do you include the bootie? Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  19. Having the leading edge as smooth as possible is indeed the objective of the current setup on the Blade, as far as I know. Underneath the smooth top layer material is about a quarter inch layer of foam to smooth out any bumps. I'm not sure how it performs in the air, but I'll let you know as soon as I've flown it. 20. Hahaha it's not a painting, it's some silly piece of board with cloth stretched over it. The person who decided over the furnishings in our office had some very outspoken and unusual tastes. Fortunately we'll be moving to another location soon, and I hope things will be somewhat more conventional.
  21. Hmm, it is smooth plastic material, but I'm not sure thats whats used for hanggliders. Heh yeah you can buy my S6 if you want.
  22. Hmm yeah I'm not sure I like the location of the patch. They were in a normal place on the prototypes. Think I'll have to move it somewhere else. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  23. Yay!! UPS just brought me my new Bird-Man Blade! It's very cool and shiny and new and I like it a lot!
  24. Very nice pics Matt, looks like you guys had a lot of fun! Cheers Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  25. Nice video dude... brings back memories indeed, like Gadget said. Can't wait for this year's boogie. Cheers Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
