  1. Congrats Macca! Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  2. How big do you plan to make the inlets? Don't forget you will have ribs to deal with, which could make it a lot more complicated; if you cut into them, repairing them might be very tricky because they're precisely shaped and stuff. Cheers, Costyn. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  3. Very very cool. The man really is a god.
  4. Very nice! Impressive pics and impressive flying. Nice work guys! Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  5. Awesome video! Lots of cool shots. My favorite has to be the shots filmed from below and then the formation passing through some wisps of clouds. Very nice. The multiple plane exits were amazing to see as well. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News

    Blade

Agreed, another good thing about a snug fit is that the feedback from the suit is more direct and noticable. My S6 was a tighter fit (it wasn't built for me) and I felt I had a bit more feeling in the suit than my Blade, which was actually built to my measurements (and which I included some extra room for winter clothing). That said, I absolutely love my Blade and the Blade is a definite improvement in range and power over the S6. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  7. Yeah iPhoto isn't that great, but Apple's Aperture is. Give that a try if you can. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  8. Yeah, we'll post a message when it's up!
  9. Probably because of the aforementioned difference in wingsuit experience?
  10. Another thought: a wingsuit will not help you to get more forward speed. As far as I understood from Luc (suit #1), he flies his body at a kind of atmonauti angle, a very steep track. You don't need a wingsuit to achieve those kind of forward speeds, just a lot of practice. Also, don't forget that Luc has a race time of only 45 seconds, while Fabian (wingsuit #1) has a race time of 90 seconds. If wingsuits was 45 seconds too, you'd be seeing insane forward speeds as well. It's all just a matter of dialing in that correct angle. 11. ... and from the greatest altitude. Like Jarno said, if you go to 15Kft, and fly for 105 seconds (15 before race start + 90 race time) you'll always cover more ground than the guy who exits at 12Kft and does 105 seconds from there: he will have to fly a lot more flat than the other guy. Ideally Trackingderby should be an altitude range: who can cover the most ground between 10000 and 5000 ft: that will be a true test of who can get the best glide ratio out of their wingsuit. 12. And more people: Tristan Whitmarsh Karin de Fraiture Pascal Nijs (aka Bassie) Roel Rozendaal Werner Pauchli The weather forecasts are absolutely excellent! Lots of sunshine! Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  13. Now that's impressive isn't it
  14. Wingsuit rodeo flocking!! (see attachments) Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  15. This weekend I noticed, as I was flying and horsing around under canopy that the legwing of my blade did somewhat inflate at one point, with the nice airlock & all... I think you might have had a similar something happen, and that it created extra drag? Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  16. Wow... that is nuts... damn I had no idea those things could go that fast. The speeds look comparable to a wingsuit when flying down the side of a mountain. Or was the footage sped up? Interesting how he needs a small drogue to slow down enough to land the thing. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  17. Seems pretty damn reliable if you ask me. I haven't actually put protrack and gps graphs over eachother, but on the way up the altitudes on my altimeter and those on the GPS are as good as identical (of course, being a dz at sea-level helps. ) Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  18. Alejandro of Team Fly Like Brick flies an S-Fly Expert. Compatibility is fine, no problem at all getting the suits to flock together. Hell, Jarno and Alejandro swapped suits (Blade for an S-Fly) last weekend and they were flying around eachother, making docks, flying on their back, etc. The S-Fly is a pretty good suit. See our website gallery for more pics. Cheers Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News

  23. Your question has been asked many times on this forum, about the 10-22. It's a very very nice lens... can't really go wrong with. Yes, its a bit expensive, but it's worht the price in my opinion. Cheers Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  24. Very nice! I like the colorscheme. Costyn van Dongen - http://www.flylikebrick.com/ - World Wide Wingsuit News
  25. Canon 350D (Rebel XT): - ISO 400 - Aperture priority - f/10 (less if it's nearing sunset) - Auto WB - Spot metering - 10-22 lens set at anywhere in the range where I think I'll need it at that jump - AF point automatically chosen. - Continuous AF Sony PC105: - With 0.43 wide-angle (but with step-up ring, so probably around a 0.5) - Everything automatic except focus, which I set to infinity. - Sports mode on this videocamera will sometimes get you wierd vertical banding/stripes when the sun shines on the lens.
