  1. I have learned a lot about college football in the last few seasons, but I still have so much more to learn. When you have 120+ Div 1A teams and no real playoff system it's hard to know who really is the best. The schedules are not balanced and when you look at the teams, you must factor in the conferences (some being more competitive than others). Obviously the top teams in the SEC are going to be good. But how much better are they than let's say the Pac-10? The SEC, Pac-10, Big-10, Big-12 and ACC are all ultra-competitive. Boise State while playing like giant killers last year against OU do not play very many games against the teams in these top conferences. So how good are they? Kansas and Mizzou have surprised a lot of people this season, but is the Big-12 as good as it once was? Mizzou is the first really good team KU has faced all season and how good is Mizzou? (they did beat the #2 Big-10 team as well as the worst SEC team). LSU and KU control their own destiny right now. But both teams need to win out and that includes LSU winning in the SEC title game as well as KU winning the Big-12 title game. So it's possible that both teams will lose between now and then and may not be invited to the BCS title game. OSU does not control it's destiny, but if I was an OSU fan I would be pretty happy right now. They are guaranteed at the very least a Rose Bowl bid if not another chance to play for the national championship. But remember what happened last year. OSU was supposed to win it all, yet Florida dominated them when it counted. Prediction: LSU beats West Virginia in the BCS title game OSU beats Oregon in the Rose Bowl PS: I sort of like these Bowl games, but I still say have the top 8 teams play in a playoff system plus having all those Bowl games is still doable. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  2. Look for Mizzou and Boise State to win these games. But what do I know? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  3. It's been a wacky college football season. How many times has an unranked team defeated someone in the top five this year? Over ten times already if I am not mistaken. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  4. So your system doesn't allow for adequate doctors? Or are they just incompetent because of a lack of competition? In theory Canuckville's socialized healthcare system is 2nd to none. In theory. LOL No all the Canuckville doctors and nurses are off chasing the Jones's and their dollar signs in the USA where healthcare is a for profit business. It's pretty much a Catch-22 situation here. 3 - 2 - 1 - c'ya in SC. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  5. ROFLMAO ... was I? That's news to me. Thanks for putting words in my mouth that I never said. Bash Clinton all you want. You won't find me defending him. But check the title of this thread once more. This thread started off talking about GWB, but you insist on making it a Clinton thread. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  6. ROFLMAO .... check the title of this thread. Are you 100% certain of that? Baby Bush talked of Iraq before 9/11 and he was just dying for the excuse to get back there to finish the job Papa Bush started. Of course Papa Bush did the right thing back in '91. Too bad Baby Bush was not as smart. Look at how much debt your government now carries thanks to Baby Bush's wars. My loonie is worth more than your beloved greenback thanks to Baby Bush's stupidity. PS: I'm not about to defend either Clinton. In fact it's becoming more and more apparant these days on both sides of the border that no politicians are not worth defending. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  7. Since when was Iraq ever a threat to the USA? They had no WMD and they had nothing to do with 911. But did that stop you guys from invading their country and starting a war? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  8. I bet you wouldnt say that to my face without worrying about your teeth getting smashed. ROFLMAO ... bet you wouldn't say this after just finishing smoking a bowl. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  9. How many born in the USA would fail the immigration test people like Darius were forced to take? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  10. They have a problem that none is designing special canopy for them, which could be more forgiving and less sensitive. I found my Spectre to be a great canopy for the wingsuit jumps that I have made. It opens soft, and as long as I have good body position it almost always opens on heading and does not open in line twists. Plus it is a docile enough wing that once open I have time to unzip the wing suit and get flying. You know the saying ... dress for success!!! Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  11. Why's that? I ... am ... the road warrior!!! Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  12. What video are you watching? The cops enter the room, surround him, he backs off and they taser him. He is no treat whatsoever to the 4 cops armed with weapons. Then to top it off, they do nothing once he passes out. While the video does not show this, the paramedics took 10 minutes before they arrived on scene. In this time, not a single cop tried to help a dying man. There must have been a Tim Hortons on the concourse. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  13. There are no what ifs. There is video to show us exactly what happened. Are you aware that when this incident occurred the RCMP told the media that this man was tasered because he assaulted the police? Am I watching the wrong friggin video here? This man did nothing to the police, he did nothing to anyone else. Sure he was causing a disturbance, but I never knew that the punishment for property damage was death. This man died for nothing. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  14. He didn't threaten anyone. Watch the video and observe how he puts the computer down when the security staff arrives. Then watch the video and observe what the RCMP do when they arrive on the scene. They friggin tasered him for the sake of tasering and then they let him die. Oh look he's not breathing, what should we do? Hmmm donuts ... This man died for nothing. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  15. Watch the raw video again and listen to the commentary. When he is throwing the chair and the computer, there is no person of authoruty in the area. As soon as the security people show up, the Polish immigrant puts the computer down and steps away. No you can defend your fellow cops all you want and you can continue to tell us how innocent they are. But I am sorry, the video does not lie. This man did not resist arrest (I am not saying he should have been let free, they did need to deal with him). But the RCMP shows up (listen to the video where they have already decided he is to be taser before they even reach him) and within seconds of entering the room where he is, they surround him, taser him and pile on and while this part makes me mad, what makes my blood boil is those pigs (yes they are fucking pigs if you ask me) let this man die right in front of them. Paramedics did not even show up on the scene until 10 minutes after he loses conciousness. Please educate yourself on some of the recent RCMP events (including where a six month RCMP rookie out on patrol all by himself is shot dead or in the other case where a four month RCMP rookie all alone in the cop shop shoots another man in the back of the head at close range after being release from jail) before you go off defending this corrupt agency who lack training and discipline. There are sending four and six month rookies out on the beat all by themselves. WTF? This man died for nothing and the RCMP will do their best to cover yet another incident up. Except in this case, there is video. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  16. He waited more than six hours in the pre-customs gathering area. I have arrived in Vancouver from several international flights so I know these different parts of this very airport reasonably well. His mother told him she would meet him at the baggage pickup area. But this is actually not even true itself. She would not be allowed into this area of the airport. No he needed to clear customs, then pickup his baggage before he gains access to the part of the airport where his mother was waiting and where the incident took place. But since this was his first ever flight in his whole life and the first experience with an international airport he was confused with what was what (not speaking the language doesn't help). But he had already cleared customs hours earlier. He was not about to hold up some flight from Asia arriving at 1-2 am in the morning. No the man was confused, tired, hungry and yes angry. He was supposed to meet his mother at the airport, but she had left a few hours earlier after staff at the airport told her he was never even on the flight to begin with. The airport staff, immigration and the RCMP have questions to answer. Don't expect much from the RCMP though. They like to investigate themselves and funny how they never do anything about their own corruption. Instead of this Mulroney/Schrieber LIEberal inspired witch hunt the national media is about to put us through, I would much rather see the RCMP put through a public inquiry. I am much more concerned about the RCMP murdering people instead of some 300k envelope stuffing incident. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. What pisses me off the most about this incident is that those RCMP pigs just let this man die with no effort at all to revive him. This man would still be alive had they just performed CPR on him (no guarantees but it is worth the try) or had they just drawn their firearms on him instead of tasering him. Oh and they decided they were going to taser him before they even entered the room he was in and they tasered him within seconds once they reached him. Oh and this man would still be alive if those asswipes at immigration/customs had gotten off their lazy asses and located the man who was waiting 6 hours in the secure customs gathering area of the airport instead of telling his mother than he never was even on the airplane. No I am afraid this is just another notch on the increasing list of incidents involving their RCMP where they used extremely poor judgement and they appear to have extremely poor training. Check this other RCMP incident out. Shot in the back of the head at close range after being released from police custody. Who fights with the cops after they are being released from jail? Plus how convenient that the RCMP investigates RCMP incidents. WTF? No I am sorry, my respect for the RCMP is at an all time low right now. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  18. Bullshit!!! He did NOT resist arrest!!! The cops killed an innocent man. They are fucking pigs!!! I guess you refuse to see that one of the cops has his knee on the man's head/throat and I guess you also refuse to see that the cops make no attempt whatsoever to revive the man once he stopped breathing. Yes he was acting irrational, he was scared and he was angry. But the cops did not even attempt to deal with him. They can even be heard on the video when they walk into the room (not the room this man was in already) already deciding they were going to taser him. The video does not tell the whole story of how this man spent 10 hours in the airport and how many many many people at the airport failed to help him. His mother was pleading with the customs/immigration people to go find him and tell him to cross the customs line since he was confused and spent 6 hours waiting in a secure part of the airport that she was not allowed access to. But the customs/immigration people told her that he was not even on the airplane. She then left the airport and when he finally cleared customs he became frustrated and confused and yes he became angry. Sure he needed to be dealt with. But those fucking pigs murdered an innocent man!!! and then they tried to cover it up. But this video shows the world what monster they are. The cops know CPR. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  19. Warning: There is a video available on this page that is rather disturbing. It is from an incident back in October when a Polish immigrant died after being tasered by the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) in the Vancouver BC airport. I am okay with the police having the taser at their disposal, but these cops showed the world what monsters they are. The video shows this man was no threat whatsoever. There was little attempt to reason with him, no attempt to get a language translator. No within seconds of arriving on the scene they taser him and smother him (one cop can be seen with his knee on the man's neck/head). The RCMP did not even try to revive the poor man once he stopped breathing. They just let him die. I am ashamed of what this world has come to and I have lost most of the respect I may have ever had for the RCMP. Pigs!!! Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  20. America has proved to the world on more than one occasion that you guys are second to none when it comes to invading a given country. But your track record of occupying these countries is not very impressive. Mission Accomplished!!! Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  21. I've seen some of his posts in the past and I am going to go out on a limb and speculate that he likely does want to be a swooper somewhere down the road (and there is nothing wrong with him wanting to be a swooper down the road). But I am going to speculate that he feels that if he can do enough "straight in approaches" with this 105 that people around him with think (including himself) that he is a good canopy pilot and that he is ready to start swooping with it. There is a chance that he may succeed with this plan. But you, myself and many other people know that this is not the way to be doing things. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  22. I can beat that... Seen a guy with around 300ish jumps on a sub 100 crossbraced. WTF is wrong with these people? All three of these cases are wrong. I have no problems with a newer jumper wanting to be a swooper. But they need to take the right path towards swooping. It's something that takes hundreds and hundreds and hundreds if not thousands of jumps starting on large canopies and slowly working your way down, not skipping a step in the downsizing progression, being a student of canopy flight and dedicating jumps towards canopy control. Sure playing up high is extremely important. But nothing will prepare the jumper for dealing with the ground rush of leveling out above the ground than actual jump experience. It sure sounds like the jumper behind this thread feels that they will be okay sometime down the road getting into swooping if they can demonstrate to people that they can handle the canopy by mastering the straight in approach. But they are mistaken. Coming in straight and purposely inducing speed are a completely different can of worms. Personally I feel one of the hardest things in swooping is knowing when to get off of the front risers. It's something I call "spider senses" and it's different for each canopy and it takes time to develop. All swoopers make mistakes (ie: finding themselves in the corner), even when they are experienced. But the experienced swooper has fine tuned their spider senses and stand a better chance of recognizing trouble sooner rather than later. But I am sorry the X hundred jump wonder who has cut in front of the line lacks this spider sense. Please people, swoopers do not want to hold the wannabee swoopers back. We just want the wannabees to build their spider senses. There are no short cuts to swooping. It's something that takes hundreds and hundreds and hundreds if not thousands of jumps to refine. We all make mistakes out there. But when you are learning, isn't it better to be making those mistakes on a larger more forgiving canopy? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  23. I know for a fact different people progress and different rates in this sport. I've seen it with my own eyes. But we're talking about someone jumping a 105, not a 170. Big difference. If he's not purposely inducing speed to swoop then I have to ask why is he jumping that canopy? He should be on a different canopy if he is not using the canopy for what it was designed to be used for. I would much rather see him ... or you ... learning how to swoop on a big 170 canopy then learning to swoop on a small one. I started swooping a Sabre2 190 and all one needs to do is watch the video of Scott Miller swooping a 230 to know that you can swoop large canopies. Nope our little protoge is jumping the wrong canopy for the wrong reasons. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  24. Damn sorry I missed this thread. Looks like a doozy. If that is the case I have a simple question for you. Why are you flying a high performance wing if you are NOT using it for what it's designed for? You are riding around in a race car, going the speed limit? ROFLMAO. Why? I'll take my soft predictable on heading openings of my Spectre 150 any day over the unpredictable openings of my JVX. Why do I jump the JVX canopy then? Because I like to swoop and the canopy is designed to be swooped. I took the summer of 2005 off and trained full time as a competitive swooper and believe it or not, I got pretty good by the end of the summer. I was two rounds away from finishing as one of the top ten amateur swoopers in the country. But one momentary lapse of judgement and a rear riser stall later put me on my ass and out of the competition faster than you can imagine (I was lucky my crash did not result in a hospital trip) and the first thing besides "ouch" that went through my mind was, there is more to life than swooping. Ever notice that the vast majority of the automobile drivers out there in the world view themselves as above average drivers while they view everyone else as an idiot? I know for a fact that different people progress at different rates in this sport (I've seen it with my own eyes). But you are not special and jumping a 105 at this stage of your canopy control career will not make you a better canopy control pilot in the long run. But no matter what we say here, you've made up your mind. You've decided that you are going to prove us all wrong. I wish you luck and honestly I do not wish you any harm. But you are not special. None of us are special. Of course some of us made a 1000 jumps before we decided to get into the sports car. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  25. I don't want to play with words. When I think of aggresive I think of something above 1.6:1, but that's just me. But aggresive also applies to how you fly the wing. Someone doing speed inducing front riser turns is more aggresive than someone coming in straight. Of course a 1.4:1 wingloading for a small person is much more aggresive than for a larger person. For the record, I don't think the OP should be jumping down to a 170 yet, I think in the long run they will be a better canopy pilot if they put a few hundred jumps on a 190 first. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
