I've only had one female boss but she was a good boss and I had good working relations with her. So I have no reason to think why I could not work for a female boss in the future. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I don't know. You tell me. I am going to guess and say "no". But this is a 5 1/2 year old thread and I was only in the sport 3 weeks and had 10-12 jumps at the time it was started. Who knows why someone decided to go searching deep into the DZ.COM archives for it and resurrect it. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Jenna Bush Calls Dad on The Ellen Degeneres Show

Oh they suck. They only have the best record in the league and they only beat my team (the Habs) last night. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
Jenna Bush Calls Dad on The Ellen Degeneres Show

What are you trying to say? She was on the Ellen show. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
Talk about an old threads. I was three weeks and maybe 10 jumps into the sport when this thread was started. In most cases "no". But I don't know? What do I know anymore? Not much. All I know is that the weather temperature outside has been fridged in the -15 to -20 range for the last week with no sign that this arctic blast of winter will be letting up anytime soon. Plus when it does warm up enough to jump, it costs me about $34/jump to hurl myself out of a Cessna (if I can even get on the Cessna) and at least 50% if not more of my income goes to one form of tax or another. I don't believe I am a whuffo (if that is what you are implying), but I sure as hell am not the same skydiver I was 2-3 years ago. Things were so much easier back then. From a skydiving point of view it sucks to live in Canada, especially during our cold winter months. I should visit FL or AZ soon. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

My condolences go out to Lee's family and friends both at the Farm as well as outside of the skydiving world. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

We should know from last season's Boise State season and bowl game not to under estate some of these WAC teams. So Georgia would be mistaken to take Hawaii lightly (haha though I am expecting the Bulldogs to win). But maybe Hawaii should look into playing some early season top Pac-10 teams in non-conference play. If they can beat a USC or Arizona State team, maybe they would earn some more respect and rank higher. The lesser ranked schools need to seek tougher schedules where they can steal some wins (and of course can they even steal the wins) and it likely would take years of success for them to gain more respect. No school can come out of nowhere in NCAA play on a given season and gain instant recognition without winning year after year. There may be too much emphasis on the national championship game when it's debatable in certain years if the best two teams are even matched up. We know 2001 was one of those years where the top 2 teams did not meet when the marbles were on the line. This season there does appears to be a good matchup. LSU is the best of the SEC and while Ohio State does not have to play a conference championship game, they are the best in another tough conference. In 2001 Nebraska lost to the CU Buffs 62-36 in the last game of their regular season. It was not the Big XII championships. CU went on to upset Texas in the Big XII that season. But the Huskers were undefeated going into that last game and I believe they were ranked as #1 before the game. When you get beat by 26 points by a so called inferior team, you don't normally get invited to the big show, but the Huskers were invited to the National Championship title game anyway. Go figure. and ... Nebraska then lost to Miami in the Rose Bowl 37-14. PS: LSU is as good as any team when it comes to who should play Ohio State for all the marbles. But I still say the top 8 teams could take part in a playoff system and while still preserving much of the Bowl season games. But what do I know? The NCAA won't listen to anyone. If you have skills that are in demand, then yes you deserve to be paid what the open market pays for such skills and experience. If the open market says that you should be paid something which results in an above average income, then so be it. None of us anti-union people are saying you should not be paid for what you are worth (and it's obvious you have skills and experience very few people have and we don't doubt you didn't work hard obtaining such skills and experience). We're just saying you should be paid based on the current market demand as opposed to what some union boss says you should be paid. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

First off I am in support of Americans taking back control of their own country dealing with the illegal immigrants. I had 8 great years working in the USA as a legal temporary resident and I was frustrated with how poorly INS treated me near the end of my 8 years while they continue to turn a blind eye to the illegals. I have an illegal Mexican friend in CO who I met skydiving and at the time we joked that he had more security calling the USA a home than I did. But it was no joke. I played by the rules and the rules told me one day that I needed to take my education and 20+ years of experience home while they continue to turn a blind eye to millions of illegals. I'm sorry you are still stuck in the old industrial revolution model. But the world has changed and what worked yesterday does not work today. Are you willing to adapt to the ever changing world, or do you continue to ask for your outdated entitlements? I negotiate my financial compensation with my employer by myself. I do not need a union to do my negotiating for me. It's called the "free market". Ask too much for your services and the doors close on you. When there is a demand for your services, your pay will rightfully reflect that demand. Look around you. Your desire for your union entitlements have driven businesses away. The world is changing. Are you willing to adapt? This is the thing that gets me about union workers. They are specialized. They only know how to do one task and they are not willing to do other tasks outside of their domain. Joe operates the truck, John operates the lever on the back of the truck. Fred spreads the material on the ground. Steve comes by and soaks the ground with some other product. Frank compresses the material on the ground while Ted sits back waiting to apply some protective coating to the various layers. Stan is there making sure the quality of the finished product meets minimum standards and Tony oversees the entire project. Oh and Sally and Jessy can be seen standing on the side of the road flashing their signs because ... well they have been blessed with huge tracks of land. Each one of these individuals claims they are a specialist and only they know how to do their job and because they are a specialist they demand a premium wage. Of course what happens in the union environment is that 8 people stand around waiting for one person to complete their task. Is there any wonder why industry is leaving the western world. It takes 10 people to do a job that in reality only takes 2-3 people. The private sector could never survive under this model. People are asked to multi-task and they are more marketable because of it. Come join us in the real world. Learn how to multi-task. It stimulates the brain to be doing a new task each day. I don't know how you one taskers can wake up each day head off to work and do the same thing day after day. That would drive me nuts. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Shoddy workmanship occurs in unions just as much as it may occur with these illegals. Anytime someone wants to cut corners to get the job done faster and cheaper, shoddy workmanship will occur. Unions and their members are some of the most selfish lazy workers you will ever find around. Defending unions is just as laughable as defending illegal immigration and it's cheap labor. PS: That last statement was generic and not in reference to anything 'masterrig' said. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Another man dies in Vancouver after being tasered
CanuckInUSA replied to pop's topic in Speakers Corner
...and that cops never lie. From what we have been told, this man from Chilliwack asked for it. He was violent in the store before the cops arrived and when they did get there he was pepper sprayed, clubbed and then tasered after fighting with the cops. But hold on ... this is exactly what the cops at the Vancouver airport told us. That the Polish immigrant fought with them before they had no other choice but to taser him. Of course we know what happened in Vancouver thanks to the video. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

When will you wake up and realize GWB is an idiot. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

ROFLMAO ... you probably didn't even watch the interview because if you did then you would have seen several of the points I was making were in direct relation to what the interviewee was trying to say while the interviewer kept interupting when his lust of his beloved war mongering, torturing, revoker of civil liberties of a government came under attack. Fair and balanced my ass. It's okay ... keep blindly following these neo-cons of yours. Pretty soon you will have no friends in the world. Remember the world was behind America right after 9/11. But you neo-cons pissed that support away when you decided to start your crusade. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Fox News and their blind support for a war mongering president who tortures people he does not like and errodes the civil liberties of the very population he is supposed to protect come off as the real nut jobs. Whatever happened to "WE THE PEOPLE"? GWB and his supporters have taken a giant shit on that concept. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

But Fox News is fair and balanced aren't they? LOL Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

If you want OSU to be in the BCS title game, then you're going to have to be an Oklahoma fan and hope they beat Mizzou in the Big XII Championship game. In most normal years, one would think that the Sooners would walk all over Mizzou, but this is no normal year. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Never, I say never make a prediction. LOL The upsets continue. LSU and Texas both lost today to the unranked underdogs. Who's next to go down? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Won't sign a traffic ticket? That's a tasering!

There are some new t-shirts just released on the market: 1) "Please don't taser me. I don't speak English" 2) "Welcome to Canada. We taser 2 kill" 3) "I survived the Vancouver Airport" Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
Who thinks the Patriots will have a perfect season?
CanuckInUSA replied to skypapa's topic in The Bonfire
If there ever was a team and a season where an NFL team joins the undefeated '72 Dolphins, this is the year. If the AFC Championship game (assuming Indy makes it) is played in nasty cold weather, then I think we will see the Pats in the Super Bowl undefeated. But if the weather is nice, all bets are off. Plus Green Bay and Dallas are also having good seasons. Things are looking good for the Pats, but they still need to win the games on the field.
