  1. Also check the Aerodyne Research site. they have a packing manual you can download, they also carry a packing tape you can purchase. I pro packed my 175 just like they say and had great openings. One of the guys I jump with flat packs his 160 and has great opeings also.
  2. try this site, you can pack pretty much any canopy this way. http://precision.aerodynamics.com/psycho/psysteps.htm

    ReflexII

Bomber Manufacturing has been making parts for the reflex for several months now. I was just informed that they are also making the reflex harness/container system again and calling it the Reflex II (2). Has anyone seen one yet? Does anyone know anything about them? Have they made any changes or are they the same Reflex with a two added to the name? As a Reflex owner I was happy to hear bomber picked up the Reflex line. I think its a great container, if they're making the harness/container again its good news especially as far as the value of used Reflex container's go. So if anyone has any information please share with the rest of us uninformed.
  4. Hey Zennie Good job with the pics I didn't even know you were taking them at the rabbitt hole! I didn't think there would be enough light, but then again I didn't know Slappie and Aggie Dave would go for wood either!
  5. Ok gang I did manage to get a few pics uploaded to the galleries under boogies and parties. So go check them out when you get the chance.
  6. Congrats I'm really glad you were able to put it together! Sounds like you might even have had a couple of free flyers in there! . As Dave already said it was a great fun weekend. I really enjoyed meeting, jumping and drinking with everyone. Thanks to the Spaceland regulars, you made the rest of us feel right at home,

    Hornet

Well guys thaks to everyone, I made 6 jumps on the Hornet this weekend and was very impressed with this canopy. The openings were all sweet. It didn't matter which packing method I used. Roll the nose, don't roll the nose. The standard pro pack with out rolling the nose was the easiest and was still nice openings. This is a great fun canopy for any one interested.

    Hornet

Thanks NewGuy that's just what I was looking for. What PISA says about packing. It really is weird there seems to be two types of canopies out there cause some folks sure say their Hornet slams them. But most are very happy with the openings. I guess I'll find out tomorrow.

    Hornet

Thanks Marc I was thinking about the psycho pack but the canopy is already to small for the container and the psycho pack seems to pack up a little smaller. But I'll probably give it a try.

    Hornet

Thanks Chuck I thought about packing the same way I packed the Heatwave it opened nice. I don't know if you remember our converstion on it. I liked it but it was way to small for my container it was a 135. So next best on the used market in my price range was the 150 hornet. Its still kinda loose in my container but will do for a short while until I can afford a smaller container.

The previous owner did give me some packing advice, and I've packed sabre's, stiletto's, triathlon's and even a Jonathan. They all seem to respond a little different. So I was wondering how the factory said to pack, Such as roll the whole nose, fold cells in on each side of center or what ever. Aerodyne research says to fold the three cells each side of center in so they are all a little different. Precision says phsyco pack. and of course there are many ways to pro pack. There are no marks on the actual lines they are all white. The canopy was made in 5/2001. So does anyone know what the factory suggest?

    Hornet

Ok I just looked through the archives and couldn't find an answer to this one so if anyone has any information please share. I just purchased a Hornet 150 used with less the 50 jumps on it. Can anyone tell me how PISA says to pack it? How do you Hornet owners pack yours. I looked at the reviews and saw some folks seem to be getting slammed while others say the openings are sweet. (packing maybe?) I saw all the comparisons to the Sabre and sabre2 so my main concern is just packing. I'll be jumping it for the (beer) first time tomorrow. Also what's the thing with color coded lines? Do you mean the tabs where the lines connect to the canopy?
  13. Hey Pammi I'm there, looking forward to seeing you guys again. Maybe we can even jump together this time By the way Sis I heard you were demoing some 150's. I have a Hornet 150 your welcome to jump if you make it down.
  14. My deal in New Orleans was cancelled so I'm in. I should be there sometime Saturday morning. I'm looking forward to meetng and jumping with everyone. Merrick and Pammi maybe we can finally get that jump in. I think you guys will really like Spaceland.
  15. I know what you mean, there's just nothing better then a fine cigar and a great wine. Yep just give me my Switzer Sweet and a good wine, one with the screw off cap so I don't get all that cork junk in there trying to open it with my pocket knife. My old lawn chair and my dog. Now that's life!
  16. Sounds like a blast. I have to be in New Orleans on the 10th but I could most likely be there either on that Saturday night or on Sunday morning. Where is everyone going to stay? At the DZ or other places. How about Sat night where will everyone be?
  17. David I didn't get from Dan's post even close to what you got. I don't think he speculated on the split between icarus and precisson. What he said was icarus said only the US made crossfires were effected (made by precission) Dan pointed out that, that made precission an ex-partner look bad. I agree it does. He also said he disagree's that in his opinion the European crossfire he has, also has a flaw. Opinion is the key word here. He also pointed out that george could have copied many other canopies including the crossfire but elected to go with the German made Nitron. Why? I would like to know the answer to that one myself. He also pointed out if its a line trim problem then why not give out specs so folks could check their own canopy or have it checked by a rigger. That don't look good. I know the S&TA at my DZ has no way of knowing what crossfires are safe or not. He can only get that from the factory, so why do they put it on him to decide what canopies are ok to fly? As far as references to indicate the technical data why hasn't icarus given any of that either? Its their canopy but they don't show any test data. I don't own either canopy in fact I jump a Triathlon, but I do like getting other folks opinions and information. I would never buy or not buy a canopy based on the opinion of one person, but I would certainly try to find more information based on a person's opinion. In any case I appriciated Dan's information, and I hope he continues to report what he has. I also hope that if Dan had a problem with one of his canopies he would be just as honest and direct in reporting that.
  18. Hey Marc I jump a triathlon 175 loaded at about 1.2 I pack the way aerodyne research says to. I pro-pack and just fold the the 3 cells on each side of the center cells in. I do leave the nose out and I pull the slider out over the nose. I do roll the tail about 4 rolls. My opening are great now. But I bought my canopy used and it used to open hard. I found out it had a modification done to the steering lines called a Lodi mod. This added a steering line and caused the canopy to open hard. Anyway I sent it to aerodyne and they fixed my problem. Also aerodyne has written packing instructions with pictures on their web site. They also sell a very good packing video. I have also found those folks to be very friendly when I called so if all else fails give them a call, I'm sure they can help you out.

    Damn Parents

Another knife in the back! But your 100% right ungratefull little shit!
  20. Hey Pammi I don't really follow the talk back forum any more and I haven't posted in quite some time. But felt a tug to look tonight for some reason and saw your post. I only met you and Merrick once and have been to Cushing just the once but I do feel a kinship to you guys. My prayers are with our fellow skydiver and his family and all who were there. Now as to you! What you witnessed is like a car coming to a red light and not applying breaks. I wasn't there nor am I in any way judging our friend that's injured, but please don't question yourself on other's actions. You are a great ambassador for skydivng and we as skydivers need you. So enjoy yourself and feel no guilt for your kids, just be safe and you'll do them justice. I hope you and Merrick are well, I thought about him just today. I had to pack a Sabre190, what a bitch, Merrick I don't blame you for wanting to down size! Bleau Skies Larry
  21. Hey Jessi I wouldn't rule out a full face to fast. As your fairly new to the game it gives great protection for RW jumps especially when your flying skills are a little rough, and you can hear your pro tract great. I got a flip up visor factory diver used for $100 bucks and it was in excellent condition. I didn't think I wanted a full face but now I love it. So don't rule out to early check out everything you can. Good luck. Bleau Skies
  22. Thanks velocity, packing was a major concern I didn't want any of those sabre like slams.
  23. Thanks Chuck I'll give him a call. I'll have to do it when I'm off they don't let us have long distance at work. I guess they're afraid we'll make long distance personal calls about parachutes go figure! I decided to take your advise and go ahead and jump it. I worked last weekend so I'll have to wait until next saturday. I think I'll really like it. But I would like to know what to expect.
  24. Ok folks I just bought a heatwave and need a little information from some of you that have jumped one. I did read the reviews but I have a few questions that were not addressed. How do they open? How do you pack? Do you roll the nose, tail push the nose back into the pack? Do they have any oversteer? Any other info would be appreciated. I know I should have jumped one before I bought it, but the deal was just to good to pass up, and the reviews did have some good things to say. So here I am going to jump it next saturday and I'm not even sure how I'm going to pack it yet!
  25. Wow finally someone I can agree with. There was a thread awhile back asking if skydivers have changed much over the years. I was recently back into jumping after a 20 yr layoff. Well at my dropzone they're not much different, but on here what a bunch of ass holes! 20 yrs ago you would have been run off any decent drop zone. There are some good folks on here, but most of you just plain make me sick. You can slam me back all you want. You guys I'm sure will entertain each other at my expense, but I wont be here. I am deleting DZ.com from my computer and my life. I really feel sorry for Sangiro, he tried to have a little fun open a site for skydivers and he got you people! How sad.
