yeah, so, like when does this whole thing become affordable again?

What's your sanity worth? That's what skydiving does for me and I just can't put a value on that! -
I also went to sunrise rigging site and they said the same thing as Sun Path. You can find it in their online manual. I couldn't copy it because its in Adobe and it wouldn't let me cut. But they said silicone, or 3 in 1 oil. I'm 2 for 2 so I'm not going to check anymore

Directly from Sun Path products Lubrication Check that the cables are clean and lubricated. Sun Path sends out new release handles already lubricated. For maintenance purposes: lubrication can be done using a thin oil such as a “3-in-1” brand (Sun Path uses a dry silicone spray “food grade”). Put a few drops on a paper towel and firmly wipe the cable a few times. A thin, invisible film should remain – too much will attract grit and dirt, or the lubricant could become tacky in cold weather. Too much lubricant will require more force to extract the cable during a breakaway.

Thanks for the feedback, hopefully he'll read some of these and take them into consideration. He does not have a death wish or think he's invinceable. He wants to have fun and several very experienced jumpers ( over 2000 jumps) have told him he would probably be ok if he just flew it conservativly for a while. I told him it was a very bad idea, but then I only have a little over 200 jumps so who do you think he's going to listen to? Anyway maybe some of this will help.

Ok here's the deal I was talking with a new jumper at my DZ. He has 20 jumps and is thinking about buying his own gear. He weighs in at 185 lbs. without gear. He wants to buy a 150 sq.ft. canopy. Now I already gave him my opinion of this and asked him to come to this site and check out what some other folks had to say. I'm not going to post what I told him because I don't want him to think I influenced anybody else's post. So please post your thoughts on this purchase, and wing loading. Also please be tactful this is a learning experience and he has been given different advise from several different jumpers, so don't flame. I hope he see's this and uses the information wisely. Thanks for your thoughts.

Hey Whiskey A little fear on the skydiving front is perfectly normal, and as already stated probably a good thing. However I must tell you if your on any medication that is mind altering in anyway they you absolutly should not jump! I'm sorry if I sound harsh but this is a dangerous sport, and there is just no room for mind altering meds.

Actually from what I read the manufactor's reccomend once a month. As far as patroleum based products. One uses 3 n 1 oil and another wd-40. I have talked with a couple of riggers, that also said WD-40 was fine. Its what I use. But I must admitt that I don't have any knowledge in the chemical componets and the effects.

I had this same problem. Another jumper had a letter from the factory, it seems its a common problem. The answer is simple, I thought I was doing it right but tried what the letter said and it worked perfect. What did they say? Most people push the button to hard, and to long. Try just very quickly tapping the button in the center. When the light comes on do the same thing 3 more times. But make sure you don't hold the button down or press hard. I was getting frustrated and pushing hard and holding the button down. My cypress turns off very easy now by following the above directions. Give it a try and see what happens.

oakley c wires and Ray bans. However on the warranty stuff, I had a pair of ray bans replaced free. My oakley's are bent a little on the frame, a phone call to them said $29 and they would give them tune up and send them back. Scratched lenes are not covered.

Any chance any of you video guys/gals out there might post more video's to the video vault? The old ones are great but they are getting old. I know you all work hard and most sell their video's but any you have laying around I'm sure would be most appreciated. Thanks from all of us for you have already posted.

I think in a round about way its already been said but the way I see it. You are going to make thousands of jumps, don't think of it as anything more then the next jump in line. You were going to jump again anyway, so enjoy and make a bunch more

You knwo everyone talks about a sunset load and they are great but one of my best hop n pops was a sunrise load. Yes folks I did say sunrise, granted its not easy to get started that early but what a great way to start the day. Open at about 14,000 and just watch the day start!

Wow! now if everyone would just donate $1 a month I'm sure we could get all them niffty little features everyone has been asking for.

Well I tried the reboot cleaning all temp and cookies. The virus is still there. This thing is persistant if nothing else. This is where McAffe says it is. When I try to delete it still says I can't. I'll try their web site again. Only had 3 popups during this post maybe its getting better! C:\WINDOWS\TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES\CONTEN
-
Thanks skymut but just for information that online virus scan did not find the virus at all. So if anyone else has it follow the site phreezone gave, it recognizes it. Your right it really isn't anything other then a bother, but just in the short time it took to post this I had 5 popups.
-
Phree your a genius, that's the one. Now I'm working on getting rid of it. Like I said I don't have much computer savay. Thanks a lot for the help!
-
Underwear you don't need no stinking underwear. No skygodess should bring underwear to the WFFC it just gets in the way!

Can anyone help me out with this virus. The file C:\WINDOWS\TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES\CONTENT.IE5\UXQZ6P0N\EXITPOP[1].HTM could not be cleaned. Please delete the infected file. I have McAffe and it keeps showing me that this virus is there but when I try to delete it or quaritine it won't let me. It says something like replace the file with a clean version. Like i said when I try to delete it, it says I can't. I don't know what to do with the thing I'm not very computer savay. The only thing I knoow this virus does is cause a bunch of pop up's that I close and it just opens another one. Very aggrivating to say the least. Any help would be appreciated. Oh my virus scan program is one week old or I guess I should say I just bought it one week ago. I have also checked for any online upgrades but haven't found any.

thanks guys some great idea's and some very interesting stickers out ther indeed!

Does anyone know where I can get some helmet stickers. Like any canopy/container manufacturer, or planes, helmets, parachutes anything like that?

I can't imagine being banned for that infraction. Its something experienced jumpers do a lot of. Its probably not the best thing for a student to be doing but I don't think its dangerous unless there is no stop on the chest strap to prevent it from coming all the way off. The only student I ever saw banned was banned because his AAD fired on the reserve. He landed out. When he got back he was pissed off about the spot! When asked why he didn't pull, he said he heard about ground rush and wanted to see what it was. He was banned for ever!

I prefer slinks myself however another reason that some folks like hard links is if you change canopies with any frequency its a lot easier on hard links then the soft.

Hey Steve I psycho packed my Hornet 150 and had great openings. I did not roll the nose at all. I pulled the slider out over the nose and then pushed the whole nose back in the pack job just a little. It always worked great for me. I now jump a Heatwave the cousin to the Hornet and I pack it the same with very similar results. I do know a guy that psycho packs a stiletto and he rolls the nose and it seems to work fine for him. So I guess what ever works for you. Larry

Ok I'm not trying to cause even more controversy but I keep hearing/reading when someone is down sizing the question can you land in a tight area? So my question is can any one under a small heavily loaded canopy land in a tight area? I mean your going to surf x ft no matter what, and if you have to come in down wind even worse. So is this a ligitimate question? I don't fly a heavily loaded canopy so I admit I may be off on this. But I just can't see someone sinking a VX 79 into a parking lot between cars and shutting it down. Are people out there really that good? Even one of the events at a swoop meet was hitting a target in the water, and almost no one was able to do that, especially without chowing in.

I spent the weekend jumping 3 way with a newer jumper just off student status. After all we can't loose him to the dark side. It was quite fun actually tuned a few points and it always helps me with adjusting fall rates and makes me a little quicker. Now off topic, any truth to the rumors I hear that Spaceland is buying yet another plane?
