Another thing to look at is customer service. For example I recently sent my digitude in and they replaced the case, because the battery cover broke. They also replaced the LED and chamber tested it. Now its good as new again. Many other manufactors do the same, but there are some out there that you may not be able to get serviced. Also some come with a lifetime warranty while others don't. I know the atimaster II has been around for many, many years and its still the same altimeter its what I was using when I made my first jump in 1975!

I couldn't seem to find the right words for your accomplishment. Maybe these will do. Women By the time the Lord made woman, He was into His Sixth day of working overtime. An Angel appeared and said, Why are You spending so much time on this one? And the Lord answered and said, "Have you seen the spec sheet on her? She has to be completely washable, but not plastic, have 200 movable parts, all replaceable, run on black coffee and leftovers, have a lap that can hold two children at one time and that disappears when she stands up, have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart, and have six pairs of hands." The Angel was astounded at the requirements for this one. "Six pairs of hands! No Way!" said the Angel. The Lord replied, "Oh, it's not the hands that are the problem. It's the three pairs of eyes that mothers must have!" "And that's just on the standard model?" The Angel asked. The Lord nodded in agreement. "Yep, one pair of eyes is to see through the closed door as she asks her children what they are doing even though she already knows. Another pair in the back of her head is to see what she needs to know even though no one thinks she can. And the third pair is here in the front of her head. They are for looking at an errant child and saying that she understands and loves him or her without even saying a single word. The Angel tried to stop the Lord. "This is too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow to finish." "But I can't! The Lord protested, I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart. She already heals herself when she is sick AND can feed a family on a pound of hamburger and can get a nine year old to stand in the shower!" The Angel moved closer and touched the woman, "But you have made her so soft Lord. "She is soft," Lord agreed, "but I have also made her tough. You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish." "Will she be able to think?" asked the Angel. The Lord replied, "Not only will she be able to think, she will be able to reason, and negotiate. "The Angel then noticed something and reached out and touched the woman's cheek. "Oops, it looks like You have a leak with this model. I told You that You were trying to put too much into this one." "That's not a leak." The Lord objected. "That's a tear!" What's the tear for?" the Angel asked. The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her loneliness, her grief, and her pride." The Angel was impressed. "You are a genius, Lord. You thought of everything, for women are truly amazing." Women have strengths that amaze men. They carry children, they carry hardships, they carry burdens but they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile when they want to scream. They sing when they want to cry. They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous. They fight for what they believe in. They stand up for injustice. They don't take no for an answer when they believe there is a better solution. They go without new shoes so their children can have them. They go to the doctor with a frightened friend. They love unconditionally. They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards. Their hearts break when a friend dies. They have sorrow at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left. They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart. Women come in all sizes, in all colours and shapes. They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you. The heart of a woman is what makes the world spin! Women do more than give birth. They bring joy and hope. They give compassion and ideals. Women have a lot to say and a lot to give. Congrats Ladies

While I think its sad that anyone gets killed in a plane crash. What's really sad is 7 other people were killed along with the senator and almost nothing was said about them and their family's

The Reflex used to be made by Fliteline Systems. I owned one and really liked it. It was comfortable, and FF friendly. Fliteline went out of business and Bomber manufacturing took over the Reflex line. they came out with a Reflex ll and I believe they are in the process of coming out with a new container based on the old reflex called the Viper. Bomber can make any repairs to the old reflex and they carry parts for the same. You can get more information at this address: http://bombermfg.com Hope that helps, I thought the relfex was fine harness/container.

I had line twist a couple of times with my Hornet with no problems. I had line twist 3 times with my Heatwave. Twice no problem the third time in started spinning into the twist I couldn't recover and chopped. I think the Hornet is very stable with line twist the Heatwave maybe a little less so. But then again it is more fun to fly and surfs a bit further too.

I went from a Hornet150 to a Heatwave150. There is quite a bit of difference. First you have to really watch your body posistion with the heatwave on deployment. You need to be square and fly through the opening, or you'll get line twist. The Heatwave turns a little faster then the Hornet but not a lot. It does dive quite a bit longer in a turn then the Hornet. The Heatwave will stall a lot more radical then the Hornet, it will collaspe if you hold the toggles down and the recovery is a little more radical if your not carefull. The Heatwave has a little more speed, especially after a turn on landing and it has more lift then the Hornet but again not a lot more. It has quite a bit of oversteer after a toggle turn and also after rear riser turns, not so bad after a front riser turn. It takes a little getting used to. The main thing to watch for when you jump the heatwave is flying the opening and the oversteer, everything else will be fairly similar. All that said I really love my Heatwave but it did take a few jumps to get used to it. After about the first 10 umps on my Heatwave, I liked my Hornet better, but now with about 60 jumps on my Heatwave I like it better.

Stiletto not stilletto, sorry but I see this all the time. I aggree they do rock!
-
Actually I jumped a Johnathan that had the same thing. It's to stow two lines in the back of the canopy. I can't remember which lines it is but, it definetly has a purpose. I'm sure you could pack without using it but I would find someone that jumps one of those canopies to show you how to stow the lines. It was not something invented at your DZ it came with the canopy.
-
I had a malfunctin last year that broke both steering lines (not at the cascade) and we believe this is what caused it. I'm a lot more carefull about it now. Also I use a pull up cord through my superbandz (which I only use on the closing stows) and it makes things a lot easier.
-
Well I jump a Heatwave very similar to the stiletto and very recently had a malfunction cutaway that started as line twist. The canopy started spinning in the direction of the twist and I could not recover. However I don't think its prone to line twist anymore then anyother canopy. Just when you get them its iffy on recovering. The openings for the most part are great!

Well I have a factory diver with a flip up visor and a Bonehead mindwarp. I really like both and interchange them quite a bit depending on the dive. I use a defogger on my face shield and have never had it fog up. I find that in the summer on the light loads RW and freeflying I jump my bonehead. On the more intense Rw loads I jump my full face. In the winter I tend to jump with my fullface all the time, even though it really doesn't get that cold here most of the time.

Heatwave canopy/rig complex...
cloud9 replied to PaulHitchman's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I jump a Heatwave 150 loaded at about 1.33. I really like it. Great openings, very responsive, nice surf good all around canopy. I don't think there's anything wrong with the 150 if your not ready to load an elliptical any heavier at this time. I have jumped the Heatwave loaded up to 1.45 and it is a different animal at that wing loading, a lot faster. but I still enjoy mine at the modest 1.3 wing loading. -
Off heading openings on Hornets
cloud9 replied to SkydiveMonkey's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I was having the same type problem with my Hornet 150 loaded at about 1.33. What I found was body position. I have had a previous shoulder surgery and tend to dip my shoulder when reaching for the hackey. I have since gone to a Heatwave and this caused me a malfunction on that canopy. So whatever you do don't go to an elliptical canopy until you get this issue resolved. -
Well your way to young to be going through the change and you didn't mention cramps so must just be a case of nerves. No worries you girls are gonna rock, so no pressure just because were all watching your slot E8 make us proud, but most of all have a great time!

Yea with several police officers and at least one FBI agent posting go ahead and answer honestly.

Do you set your brakes as soon as you land? (Be honest.)
cloud9 replied to Jessica's topic in Gear and Rigging
I reset my slider and stow my toggles in their keepers but don't set the brakes until I pack. -
well unfortunetly if you read the fatality page you will see several no pulls every year, so it does happen. As far as landing a suit, i think this falls in the same lore as the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus

It was probably a ligt weight that ran out of lead and tried a few rocks in the pocket trick, and lost one.

Ok Dave here's one for you. Last saturday first jump of the day. My Heatwave loaded at about 1.33 opened in about 4 line twist and then started spinning like crazy. I had to chop, found my canopy in top of a tree. But the freebag was gone. $90 new reserve pilot chute. $75 freebag. $40 new poptop. So about a $250 dollar jump. Wings container and Heatwave 150 isn't that the same setup you have? By the way I have had line twist before with this canopy with no problems but this time there was no getting out of it! So one if you get line twist with your new heatwave prepare to chop. Two if you chop with your new wings follow that freebag!

Well I don’t know what you’re talking about; I didn’t even know you were here, (as his voice changes.) But now that I know, Your eyes are like an oasis on a desert trek to inviting to pass up, luring me in, your hair like the finest silk with the fragrance of honeysuckle on a warm spring day. Your skin as soft as the down of a baby chick, and as smooth as marble. Your lips taste of the finest wine, sweet so satisfying, intoxicating. Your touch as hot as a branding iron searing me to you forever. How can I now go on knowing you don’t want me? My life has lost meaning, I shall go lay and wait for death to relieve this tormenting pain! Oh why did you have to condemn me to life without love? Can you tell I’m at work and bored to tears?

Who would chop with only a broken steering line?
cloud9 replied to riddler's topic in Safety and Training
On jump #134 I had a hard opening and both steering lines were broken. I had never praticed rear risers and was not feeling the greatest from the opening. I chopped, I was jumping a triathlon at 1.25 wing loading. I have seen practiced with the rear risers and would probably land my Heatwave loaded at 1.33 with them. -
Do you believe the rigger asked for a case of Dr Pepper? I think I really got off easy.

NO SHIT THERE I WAS THOUGHT I WAS GONNA DIE! First jump of the day, a 3 way with a couple of friends. Just a fun little jump to kick the weekend off. Jump went well 4000 track away 3000 wave off dump. Line stretch looked good, then all of sudden the canopy lurched left then right and spun up in about 1 sec. I had about 4 line twist before I could get control. Then it went into a dive and started spinning, no choice I chopped it, got stable pulled silver. I was under a good reserve. After I chopped I looked for the main but never saw it, I was over trees so I went for the airport. Well from 10:00am - 4:00pm was spent in the woods looking for and then cutting my canopy out of trees we never did find the freebag. So an expensive jump to say the least but I lived so I can't complain to much. Main canopy: Heatwave 150 loaded at 1.33 Reserve Tempo 150 loaded the same. Great reserve deployment, no issues with the tempo. Nice opening, flew great, landed great! 2nd reserve ride! Well hope your weekend started a little better then mine. I didn't really think about it until after I posted this but this is a tradition at my DZ. Anytime you have a malfunction when the beer light comes on you have to get everyones attention. It starts LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME, NO SHIT THERE I WAS THOUGHT I WAS GONNA DIE. Then from there you tell your story. Does anyone else have a similar tradition at their drop zone?
