Ok I can't find this answer anywhere online. Probably just searching for the wrong stuff, but, I have a video of a 4way speed star from 4k and wanted to instert a running timer of how long it took to get the last grip. Using Adobe Premiere Pro but at this point, I'll use anything to figure it out. Any ideas anyone?

Yes, they sure can be - which is not always a good thing. A SL is a sub-terminal deployment, and when a Student is still on a static line, they may or may not know the difference between "a slower than usual opening" or a Streamer. When I pack the Rigs at our DZ for SL students, I make sure to leave the nose wide open, and a hardly roll anything. Agreed, all too many times have I thrown SL students that were pro packed with the nose and tail rolled that produce a 5-10 second delay from a static line. I too pack the same way with SL students, make sure it opens and it's out there. The longer it takes to open, the more time they have to screw something up

I haven't ever had someone ask that question but we ran into an interesting situation at the DZ this weekend. Student with 4 jumps, after being told a NUMBER of times by 5 instructors and our S&TA that he did not need to buy a rig and especially the one he was bidding on on eBay, showed up with the rig... Here are the details of what he bought: Stilleto 135 (he's 190 out the door) Swift+ 145 Infinity (velcro all over it) Then for $200 more, a cypres with 2 years on it, needs it's 4 year and new bats... To boot, the main is covered in sand. I shook it out for a good 5 mins and there is still a layer of fine fine sand all on the insides of the cells. He didn't have it looked at before he bought it and went against everyone's opinions and then rebid on it anyways. As a result, I have the canopy and none of our riggers will pack the reserve for him in the event he tries to go somewhere else and jump it

Anyone know how to do this? On my camcorder it shows as being in widescreen format but when I plug it into my TV it fills the screen and takes away the effect. I'm leaving at 4am for the Film Festival in Cali and would really appreciate any help anyone has with this issue. The film still looks good, just much much better in widescreen Camera: PC100 Adobe Premiere Pro

I was at SDC over the 4th of July and they were showing some videos. One video in particular was of some interviews with Missy and Rook and others making fun of the lives of skydivers. Like saying that skydivers get into it for the money and then cutting to a shot of a trailor park. Does anyone know where I can find this video if it's posted online? I'd like to see the thing in full as I just caught a brief section of it

Even when I was on his money he didn't really have much say in it. I think in some ways he didn't want to butt in because he feels bad for being so far away, but trust me I hear it all the time. You're Dad is being a Dad, just like your friends at times and everyone else in your life, we don't want to see anything happen to you or anyone else. That is why your Dad is being protective. I wouldn't try to throw anything in his face or prove the fact that it is or isn't safe, instead, lead him to information, slowly talk about it. Does he know about the reserves, how easy it is to pack, AAD's, the hard deck etc. To the outside eye, skydiving is dangerous, all they know about it is what's seen on Real TV or movies where we're all the bad guys. Your father may also think this is more of a male sport, from what i know, very little that is, of your father he seems to be the more male masculine type and thinks maybe girls shouldn't be doing dangerous sports and activities. He wants you to ride motorcycles because he knows he can protect you because he rides as well. It's hard to say, but I also know you are NOT the type of person who likes to be told what you should, can or can not do...

Go to Brazil mano!!! Myself, Superwoman and Beavdog went to Brazil last year. I grew up there so it was home for me, but they had a blast. Are you thinking of going to the Boogie in Buzios or over Christmas? Keep in touch cause I'll be going back down there again this year for some more jumping, probably around Christmas, I too am deciding to either go to the X-mas boogie or to Brazil.

Yeah I know Naples is about 4 hours from anywhere, but we'll be taking a rental car and have all the time in the world. I too am doing RW with the family (9 of them) but it's not that often that I get to see them seeing as they're from Brasil. 8 days is more than enough time with the fam, so 3-5 will be use for skydiving, Orlando and the tunnel hehehehe
