    Cessna or Turbin DZ? AFF or SL? Club or comercial DZ? Trust me I see 200 skydivers a year who are all college students who can't afford to have insurance, but bust their balls to jump. I'm one of them

    It's simple, I didn't expect everyone to donate, but some people knew him or know myself and given the situation I made it open to others to help. I'm sure you feel the same about all the people in Asia who didn't have insurance right? Shit happens, if you don't feel like helping, which I didn't expect everyone to do, then don't post.

    It was brought up in another thread that everyone who jumps should be responsible and have insurance on their rigs. Also post what type of insurance it is if you have it

    Again, some people don't have that option... Like me for example. I looked into it today and I can't get it still because of my previous happenings. Hopefully you don't find yourself shit outta luck someday soon I guess. I know you guys don't know him, but at the same time, neither did the Red Cross and others on DZ.com and the people in his city. I am too sorry he didn't have insurance, leason learned? Yes, but that still doesn't take back the fact that shit happens. The fire was caused by a backup in the wood burning stove used to keep the house warm in the winters

    Ok so I can never get enough skydiving videos to add to my collection. Anyone want to trade End of Year videos from your DZ/Club? This year I put together a 2 disk DVD, about 3 hours in total. Who wants to trade? I'd like to see what everyone else is doing around the states, get some new ideas for next year and just have something new to watch.

    Thanks Weege :) He was living with a friend. It was his friend's Grandma's house from my understanding. He's in Salina today buying some clothes and then heading to his parents for Christmas now

    When I first moved into an Apt and out of the dorms I went to get renteres insurance. They gave it to me and then about a week later called and said they had to cancel it because I was high risk. My car had been broken into 2 times in the previous year. One resulting in 300+ CD's being stolen. Although they never paid a penny on the CD's, I had been flagged and for whatever reason was not able to get renters insurance. They said I'd have to wait 2 years and just havne't gone back in since. It's been about 3 years now

    There is nothing on any of the local newpapers websites. I will post a link as soon as one is available. And yes it's a shame he didn't have insurance. Makes me think twice now about getting renters insurance for all my stuff...

    KangaGT (close friend and dz.comer) lost everything early this morning when his house burnt down. No one was injured in the fire though he is homeless and rigless Christmas Eve. The Red Cross has donated some money to help him buy clothes etc. I've set up a paypal account if anyone would like to donate to it to help him get back on his feet. He did not have insurance to my knowledge donate2travis@sbcglobal.net Blue skies and a merry christmas Chris

    Yeah I have quicktime but I can't import the file into Premiere, it's not a supported media type. I used Rad Video tools to convert it to an .avi file and then used the Key and Alpha effects to take care of the white background. I really appreciate it

    I'm converting it to a .avi file right now then once in Premiere I'll put it at -100%play to use it as a counter. I think I'm just running into all kinds of problmes today. Couldn't find the Quicktime plugin for Premiere Pro

    Yeah I looked at that too... There has got to be a simple way, just a plugin or something somewhere. There is for the mac and imovie so there HAS to be something for Adobe. The problem is that the "stopwatch" when you search, shows up in referrence to all the keyframes and such. Somewhere out there, someone has to know of a plugin or something. It can't be that I'm gonna have to create 60 layers in Photoshop to do so. Is there a way to display the timecode off the DV tape onto the video?
