Ok, ya know the plastic trim around the edge of our helmets?
kansasskydiver replied to kansasskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
Hmmm - and caused by many many freefall collisions no doubt. Maybe we should donate to some coaches couses for y'all then. Ironically the most of them happend on solo dives... One guy got his face cut up pretty bad too. About a half inch under his eye. A piece kept flapping and hitting him in the face. They're light helmets, but they suck imo -

You're joking right?!?!?! The lenses brake off in freefall and cut peoples faces. There is not a single Oxygyn at my DZ that has a face shield on it. The reason I'm looking for all this stuff is cause I just rebuilt a helmet and am adding some stuff to it. So things like the ratchet straps and the trim I needed help finding. Hopefully I'll have the helmet put back together again tomorrow -

That looks exactly like it. I went to autozone and they didn't have any, said they hadn't had any for a long time. Sweet now I know where to get some. Thanks -

Like all the boneheads, open faces etc? That black plastic trim. What the heck is that stuff called and where can I buy more? Ace Hardware was convinced it wasn't a real product and that I was tripping on acid. Home Depot directed me to clear plumbing housing. I thought I might be able to use auto trim stuff but can't. Does anyone know what it's called, where I can get some? Craft store? Wally world, online? Pretty pretty pretty -
Well i'm in the same boat as you. If you go back and look at my threads from this time of year last year it was 33 in my house. It's avereaged about 40 thus far this winter. I just say put on more clothes or buy a space heater

We had a student about 2 years ago probably that broke his hard deck and lost track of altitude. He pulled when his cypres fired but never realized he had 2 canopies out. At about 50-100 feet he attempted to turn and split the canopies resulting in a downplane configuration. He was lucky to have landed in a freshly plowed field. He broke his hip and had some bumps and bruises. 2 canopies out with students is some scary shit to see

Ratchet straps/Ladder straps where can I buy them?!?!?!
kansasskydiver replied to kansasskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
I'm actually looking for the whole assembly. I'm replacing the back plate of my camera helmet. It doesn't have a ratchet setup on it yet, so it would be a new addition -

kansasskydiver replied to kansasskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
I need help... I've tried to do every sort of search I can think of online and I can't find what I'm looking for. I don't want to buy the chincup setup from bonehead cause I just need the 2 straps. Anyone know where the heck I can get them? Or can anyone please direct me to the proper search words lol -

They stopped making the time-outs but I know they did have a visual warning that could be purchased and attached seperately. I might be able to get a hold of a guy who has one laying around.

Max speed was 90mph based off the data of the protrac that was around the deployment time when i shut everything down and dropped my knees. Total time was 89 seconds from 10k. I didn't cover as much distance as I would have liked though...

If you're running Norton antivirus and SP2 WMP 10 will not update. Turn off the real time protection and shut down "defwatch.exe" from the running applications off of the task manager and it should update fine

Actually if you own a business and don't make more than $5000 a year it's considered a loss. This is how my it's reported on my taxes as well as my webdesign and other sources of income. Our DZ is a club through the university we have no staff, no one gets paid money really. Our JMing is all paid in jumps that the students buy and pay the jumpmaster with a ticket, then the video work is paid directly to me
