  1. …and it'd be too hard to pitch a movie with nearly everybody in the US government as the bad guy. cavete terrae.
  2. grue

    Face fart

    That's racist. cavete terrae.
  3. I'd rather they all sign their donor cards and kill themselves, frankly. cavete terrae.
  4. Have to pick between that and discriminating against illiterate gun owners, I suppose. Either way, a pack of retards is going to be offended. cavete terrae.
  5. Having read thousands of police reports in my career, and seeing the way most cops spell, I'd probably wonder who the hell would blackmail a white canary. cavete terrae.
  6. That sums it up. That said, I would very much love to see him found guilty (if he is) on his current charges, see his visa cancelled, and him banned from entering the United States, which would then have a follow-on effect on his ability to travel a lot of places cavete terrae.
  7. There are two reliable signs of a complete pussy who doesn't believe in himself: 1. People who double check their work 2. People who test things before they deploy them. Push forward and damn the consequences. cavete terrae.
  8. I'm just trolled by them saying "Seals" instead of "SEALs". cavete terrae.
  9. If we take the legal liability out of the question I don't see a problem with 16 year olds jumping, or for that matter 14 year old. However, courtesy of the fact that western society is full of litigious responsibility-shy cowards, I'd say "the age at which a waiver is enforceable across the board in the city, county, state and nation in which the jump is taking place" cavete terrae.
  10. Going from APF is apparently quite a bit easier than coming into it, due to the overregulation that is endemic in Australian society. cavete terrae.
  11. I moved out of the US for work, now I'm trying to find work back home so I can move back That said, to get me to permanently say "nope fuck that" in the US would be difficult because there are too many good things that outweigh the insanity of other countries. The things you mention would all be pretty bad, but I'm not sure any of them would be bad /enough/. It'd need to be a number of factors that would result in the US losing the advantages it holds for me: Cheap cost of living Ready availability of what I consider near-essential creature comforts (central climate control, dishwashers, in-sink garbage disposals) At least pretending to let people make their own decisions. Things like that. Or if they started passing laws and doing things that make me think of "First they came…" in the "wow they're actually rounding them up" sense, like the Queensland, Australia government is doing with motorcycle clubs, that'd give me serious pause. cavete terrae.
  12. I had a similar experience. I was given an "A" license until the CI could jump with me to clear me for something higher, which, uh, never happened despite me asking several times over the course of several months. This lead to me basically just ignoring all of the rules regarding what I could do with my license. Changed DZs, CI inspected my logbook and gave me my D. Haven't looked back. cavete terrae.
  13. same on both sides: 5 (usually): "you should be breaking off now" 2.8: "you've thrown your PC, right?" 1.5" "go silver, not blue" cavete terrae.
  14. No. No really. You aren't. You sayin' I look smart? cavete terrae.
  15. Meh. Any guy that can't do this needs to turn in his man card. Fuck that I just use a hook knife. cavete terrae.
  16. A highly effective way to avoid imprisonment in theocratic shitholes is to not set foot in theocratic shitholes. cavete terrae.
  17. Working in IT, I frequently see people smile and state some variation on "Oh I don't know how to use a computer" when they need help. Fucking hell, people, that's nothing to smile about. It's one thing if you're 90, it's another entirely if you're still in the workforce in an office environment and can't use computers without someone watching over your shoulder. cavete terrae.
  18. http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2014/01/29/u-students-want-crime-alerts-to-avoid-using-racial-descriptions/ cavete terrae.
  19. I think you mean "…" not "...", as three full stops is not actually the same as an ellipsis. If there is an omission in the center; you would be correct. e.g., "I think ... the same as an ellipsis." Aposiopesis is an appropriate use of an ellipsis as well, though. cavete terrae.
  20. But I thought groupthink is good because it's working together! cavete terrae.
