Of what? Certainly right now I'm innocent of anything serious, and not just through technicalities. Don't compare yourself to others. Compare yourself to God's standard. Your infractions may seem trivial to you until you consider against whom the crimes are really against. To an infinitely holy God, one lie is deserving of hell. You mean like Him dying for those criminals who were still committing crimes against Him. That's pretty "nice."

Ok..."If"...God does exist and you're judged when you die, will you be found innocent or guilty? By the way, were you objecting to God (in general) or saying that if He is holy and just, that He shouldn't punish sin?
-
Do you think it would have been just (if you lived back then) for you to have died in the flood? Added: If God is in fact holy, then He must hate that which is unholy. If God is in fact just, then he must punish that which is unjust (sin). Question is: Which side are you on (rhetorical...we know already)? How are you going to account for your own lawlessness if you're planning to reject the ransom which was paid already on your behalf? I’d say (if you’re like how I was) you’ve got a huge problem. 10 out of 10 people die. The Bible says that when you die, you will face judgment. There won’t be any fence to sit on when that day comes. It will either be innocent or guilty.

***1. USA Today: “Study seeks to explain the parting of the Red Sea” A recently reported study by meteorologist Carl Drews has suggested a way in which the waters of the Red Sea could have parted “naturally,” enabling the children of Israel, led by Moses, to cross as pharaoh’s army pursued (Exodus 14). Such an explanation might leave God with credit for the timing of the event, but little else. The courses of rivers and the locations of shorelines do change over time, and using satellite imagery to suggest a site where a branch in the Nile River delta once drained into a coastal lagoon, Drews has proposed that a 63 mph wind blowing for 12 hours could have pushed back a wall of water, exposed a land bridge, and held it for the crossing. This effect, called wind setdown, is sort of the opposite of storm surge. On the one hand, the wind setdown concept is somewhat more refreshing than the popular claim that the Israelites waded through a “reed sea,” inevitably leading to the joke about a little boy being amazed that God could drown the Egyptian army in six inches of water. The wind setdown idea is not inconsistent with the biblical fact ( Exodus 14:21-22 ) that God caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night—after all, God created the wind and the water and can command them to behave as He chooses. However, the existence of a physical explanation for a miraculous phenomenon is not necessary and the demand for one prior to believing a biblical miracle is foolhardy. That certainly takes all of the offensiveness out of the discussion, doesn't it? If Jesus had just said that He was "a way" and not "the way" to the Father, everyone could hold hands and sing Kumbaya. By the way, Jesus was also fully human. -
That's just low..... I love it!!! GENIUS!!

Your "eye-witness testimonies" aren't very reliable according to historians. I think most historians agree that the gospels are probably based on a real person, but it isn't even proven that Jesus of Nazareth really existed. I think you'd be hard pressed to find even close to a "majority" of historians who don't hold to at least the New Testament manuscripts as being historically and textually accurate and trustworthy. If what you said was true, how could you trust anything. How would you know those who signed the Declaration of Independence actually were the ones who signed it? Ever watch a good magic show? .. Do people really levitate? or get sawn in 1/2? - you see what you want to see. Again...no evidence of trickery or attempt at deceit. Could it happen? Yes. Is there evidence that it did happen? No. -

But that doesn't fit the evidence that we have. -
Not if you understand the nature of sin and the fact that God is also "holy" and "just." or Just full of Holes Nice comeback. You must have studied up on that one.

But that description does not fit the biblical record. The "Lord, liar, or lunatic" argument comes to mind. Someone (or a group of persons) can certainly be out of their minds and come up with all kinds of crazy stuff but that is not the general consensus in this regard. Your other option is that they were all lying for some reason (which also is not supported). -

The whole comparison with unicorns, tooth fairy, FSM, etc. is such a straw man argument given the eye-witness testimony in favor of Christianity. -

Whether or not god exists is a binary question; either he does or doesn't. There are no colors in between. I agree with quade. -

If you can convince yourself that you know what "everyone wants," then you can convince yourself of anything. That would be called "delusion." So what part of what I typed doesn't apply to you? -

It all comes down to accountability. As long as it's just an unknowable or impersonal force, we're ok. Everyone wants to go to heaven (or some version thereof....or even just annihilation/cease to exist), they just don't want God to be there when they arrive. If we have offended the nature of a thrice holy personal God (by breaking His laws) and are justly deserving of punishment, there's a big problem. -

. Speaking of the cross, and how you see it everywhere. Now don't you think, if Jesus came back, that's the last thing he would want to see? When He returns, it will be to judge the world against the standard of His holiness. He will not be coming in peace as a friend for those who don't know him. Whether or not He cares about all the crosses everywhere will be the least of your concern. However, I have no idea why He would be offended by a cross.
