Probably that it's a sport full of independent women and they don't like someone listing "single mother" as the reason for separation. Kinda like if Jerry McGuire walked in at the end of the movie and instead of saying "hello, blah, blah, you complete me" he said "Look bitch, blah, blah, and you're lucky that I'm cool with that kid..." I can't decide which homepage has the best appeal

#1 is a little washed out. #2 is absolutely beautiful but #3 has the same strong colors but shows an activity that is more accessible to people. When people see surfing they think of themselves an an outsider. Every corporate shmo with a Northface fleece and a VW can pick up climbing. If you're over 20 - with the exception of Johnny Utah - you're an houli who will never surf. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher -
I think this is a great idea. Those pesky wind tunnels are too safe! I propose...THE DEATHARIUM!!! "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Too bad, MY thread now! I really think it's better to take his question back to the source. Then you can answer it by saying: "Check your this, your that...now that you've eliminated it, you can say that it's only possible that you have a misrouted bridle, go to silver." Ron, I think you of all people on here aren't one to just let someone be negligent about their gear. And we're not talking about "some malfunctions". All the PCIT's that came free that I've heard about were because of a tight container or tight closing loop. Eliminate that and the children can rest better. You don't hate children....do you? Everyone is calling it a crap-shoot about what causes a PCIT. Someone entertain me that this just isn't good enough. Please none of this "well, if you're going to skydive then you just need to accept the fact that..." kind of BS. Is there anything about YOUR gear that would lead you to believe that the main would come free and deploy when you deploy the reserve. Can this inadequacy be eliminated? So far, Tonto is the only person so far who has said anything about prevention Scenario: Jamming a large canopy into a smaller tray making a hung-up D-bag more likely. Closing loop too tight; intentionally, or because you packed it in dry cold main and flew to warm moist Florida to jump. You’re making a low pass out of a Cessna and will never reach terminal. I think some people here are smart enough or experienced enough to know that things can happen because of something very specific to your gear. If a student asks a question about cutting away with one hand vs. two is it better to just give them a policy answer or put them in a hanging harness and see if they have the strength for a single hand cut-away? If you see that their gear is a little too big for their short arms are you going to ignore the importance of completely pulling the cables through or even suggesting better fitting gear, or will you just leave it as is? Next, does eliminating these problems still leave it as a crap shoot as to whether you should go straight to silver? Bill, could you eliminate all scenarios that make cutting away or not cutting away more beneficial? Could you know that if you have some freedom of movement in your main tray and your closing loop isn’t too tight that there’s no point in cutting away if you look over your shoulder and see a fully inflated PC? Also, anyone who has had a PCIT, what caused it? Could you have eliminated this problem? "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Rebel XT - reliable way to gauge battery life remaining?

Dammit, I said it wrong: Jump numbers is no substitute for talent, mental state and currency. I agree with your points but we're talking about those, "Hey, can bobby get on our jump" kind of moments. Then all you have is someone else's statement of "Yeah, he's alright" and then you see him cork right out the door or go screaming by at some point in the jump. You can set up a camp for anyone but the reality is that most people pack and load as quickly as possible and if someone invites someone to lurk as outside video most people aren't going to give him an inquisition if they know he has 190 jumps. Reply to kallend, davelepka, Reginald. You're right and I should temper/recant/back-down for not being specific. While someone over 100 jumps may not be talented enough to avoid killing me in some situations they SHOULD know enough to not go head down after a RW four-way. Furthermore, figuring out someone's talent, mental state, and how current they are is not substute for jump numbers. Edit: Should say: Jump numbers is no substitute for talent, mental state, and currency. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

I can't say that you can really make the call on jump numbers alone for this guy. At 200 jumps someone should know what they're doing. This just seems like a complete lapse in judgement. I only know of a few people who I consider to be dangerous, and that has more to do with their attitude than jump numbers. I pretty much assume that anyone over 100 jumps knows enough not to kill me. You can still purchase a programmable thermostat. They cost $35 and have an almost instant payback in the heating season. Then you can set the system to heat or cool to match the occupied schedule. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Dan, you're busted! You're getting into the stack next time! I'll bring my CRW-Hybrid Triathlon next time for you to jump. I was thinking about chasing you down on that jump but didn't want to scare you too much. I wouldn't recommend doing anything different than your normal pack unless you have a dedicated CRW. You could hide your slider, expose the nose, and throw all kinds of witchcraft in there that you'd regret if the load gets weathered out and you either have to repack the rig or forget about it and get a slammer of an opening on a freefall jump. LEAPDOG's ADVICE takes the type of aircraft into consideration. With us jumping out of a Cessna right now, keep it tucked or else you're gonna do a two-stack with the aircraft. Also, what the F is that in your Avatar? Are you having sex with a catfish? I'll let you know when we're getting in some more CRW. I'm also working on getting some local talent to come in to teach and organize over a weekend. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Does anyone ever pull their reserve before repack?

Kevin, he's probably talking about a situation I heard about also. A rigger just grabbed some E thread to attach his seal and then wrapped it around several times. It took another rigger two arms and a lot of force to break the thread. It was finally the thread slipping through the seal, not the thread breaking that allowed the pin to move. I'll see if I can find that post. Here's one: E Thread used for seal thread "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher -
