  1. Crickets? The story is carried by every news outlet. The internet search on "Biden"/News is kind of funny and reflects your new source. The major outlets (Yes, even CNN) all have results that include these allegations, their stories cover the allegations and make requests for him to address the allegations. The headlines from National Review and Fox have the co-line "leftist media won't address assault, etc" right next to the articles by "leftist media" addressing it.
  2. I don't think religious organizations should be given any more allowance for noise restrictions. I would have an issue with any bells or loudspeakers near me.

I saw this earlier and one thing with restaurants is the issue with servers walking around a picking up dishes and payment and they bringing dishes to other people. They'll need to have one person who takes dirty dishes straight to the kitchen and doesn't touch anything going out.
  4. I'll bite on that one. Yes, he's too ignorant to understand the difference which is why he shouldn't in his capacity as the spokesman for the response team be spit-balling treatment and testing methods. This one wasn't a big deal and we know he likes to float bullshit in his stream of consciousness but in the past he's continued that spitballing to a genuine push to override the professional opinions of the people working on this pandemic. When that spitballing goes unchecked we waste valuable time and money and lives. This time he got called out very quickly, so quickly that there was no damage and since there was no damage there was no harm and because there was no harm everyone is crying about the Democrats and the media being mean to Trump.
  5. Watched most of it. They say things I agree with regarding greenwashing etc but overall I thought it was high on accusations and low on information. I'd like to see more data regarding their issues. It's a minor point but I thought his representation of Solar Fest was rather misleading. I went to that and at that location, it's a trade and seminar event for people in the building industry and for consumers, not a showcase on powering a concert with solar panels. I don't find any hypocrisy in their use of standard power if the sun's not out, it's fairly well understood that you can't draw and use on-demand solar power in the dark. Biofuel = bullshit. Biomass = bullshit (Everyone was all about this in VT when I lived there). Wind/Solar storyline: Fairly simplified and they spend more time talking about the issues with choosing sites, this has some truth but is also a bit of a NIMBY issue. Again, they were in VT and I know some of those locations. Vermonters can be difficult to deal with they're a bit of a "have your cake/eat it too" group. There's currently no reason to stop our expansion of Wind/Solar and the rare earth materials issue is a bit overblown. The reflected solar array went away because it's obsolete, they spend some time on the site issue again but that's again some more NIMBY. The fact is that we're going to have to look at wind turbines and solar panels. Mountaintop removal for coal has affected 1.3 million acres. We're projected to use 50% solar in the future so that will be 7.5 million acres. Even with some one that being Co-Use (rooftops and parking lots) that leave a lot of acreage under panels. That's about it. They didn't talk about nuke (at least I don't think) and they should've.

It's also likely that people stay away from French smokers because they smell so bad.
  7. The climate denial industry lost one of its paychecks.
  8. As if they'll simply get snapped up by another US owner. Hard to have US economic power without US owned businesses.
  9. The wording many times spoke of things in absolute terms, I assume that was to test your acceptance of authoritarianism. Here's me. I thought it would put me closer to authoritarianism since most of my responses supported control of trade and companies but I guess my answers about personal freedoms countered that.
  10. Haven't had time yet. Work.... But, now be honest, did you? Did you really spend an hour and fifteen on a Michael Moore video? Anyway, you were the one who cited NOAA data as proof. So is it or isn't it? You're trying to simultaneously say it's not proof of appreciable warming but IS of appreciable cooling. Either way, 2019 showed WARMING because it started in third place and ended up in 2nd.
  11. While we're talking about the comfort of one's belief system we're about at the one year anniversary of you pointing to what has become a regular check-in for me regarding rising global temperatures. You were trying to make a point that the NOAA temperature data would not show a rise in temperature. Unfortunately it did and then it continued to do so as we extended through the third hottest year in modern recorded history which by the end of the year was the 2nd hottest year. Now a year later we've already beat that record as we've STARTED as the 2nd hottest year and are on track to become the hottest ever. My question is whether that crow is still in the sous vide. It must be DAMN tender by now and cooked up with the facts you presented.
  12. YES! Because according to the link in your own post it DOESN'T FUCKING WORK!
  13. If it makes you feel better I'll watch it. My belief system has an inclusion that there's a LOT of bullshit in the "Green" world like mountaintop removal for wind power, inadequate energy storage capacity, BioFuel (Don't get me started), and the imbued energy in things like concrete and steel. It's very easy to film an hour and 15 minutes of the worst case issues, I already know several of them and have been to several of the locations in VT where they're putting in windmills.
  14. I'll be honest, I'm not going to watch that, Michael Moore is annoying. There is a mountain of material available to him for calling out "green" hypocrisy.

    covid-19

The fallacy with that way of putting it is that there shouldn't be 328 million people standing in a single line, but various groups of 360 thousand people, all of whom should have exactly the same ability to obtain testing. For some reason we're waiting for permission to go through a very small number of people and don't grant regions the autonomy to deal with pandemics. If we could respond to these threats in a more decentralized manner with the support of the federal government we'd be in much better shape.
  16. That's hilarious and terrible.
  17. Yes. People who disagree with you and haven't realized that Falwell is a charlatan are allowed to vote and enter the military.
  18. Oh come on Kallend, you're trying to say that a highschool Junior/Senior applying to college is going to have the worldly wherewithal to be able correctly assess something like the truth of religion and religious profiteering?
  19. I'm curious about the timing but this appears to be the first time she's told the whole story. It appears as though before she gave no details or it was comparable to his way of sniffing hair and being really fucking creepy. Many times these things don't come out in a perfect manner because the person hopes they don't have to tell their story. When it becomes obvious that the person WILL then they're boxed in and it's almost too late. I wish she had brought these details up but previously there was little support for women in public venues such as this. Remember that it was only a few Presidents ago that even Democrats elected a President with a long and very public list of sexual assault allegations. It's incredible that we're in a situation like this but I would like to see the Democratic party do what they said Republicans should've done. I know that we can't expect the President to be some kind of Jesus but let's at least stop electing people who we'd never let in the door for a job interview because of their history of sexual assault accusations.
  20. It appears to me that there is no political motivation by Tara Reide accusing Joe Biden of sexually assaulting her other than that she thinks it's important that this information is available to those considering voting for him. The Democratic party is now at the same point that Republicans were upon hearing instances of women accusing Trump of sexual assault AND Trump's self-alleged sexual assaults via a recording. The difference is that there has not been a DNC confirmation of his candidacy as there was already an RNC confirmation for Trump. Her interview describing the specifics of the assault:

So what you're saying is that we need to stock up on peyote and viagra.
  22. I'm with you on that. They're wearing kid gloves. I don't think they were actively and intentionally misleading the world but they certainly were entirely ineffective.
  23. Except that's not what they said on Jan 14. They said: "Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel #coronavirus (2019-nCoV) identified in #Wuhan, #China." That's kind of like saying "Preliminary investigations conducted by Carol Baskins found no clear evidence that Carol Baskins fed her husband to tigers." They didn't say it wasn't contagious they stated the opinion of China since they didn't have their own people looking at it. That said even CNN thinks WHO did a shit job at the beginning of this by simply parroting disinformation provided by the Chinese government.
