What if the government rejects the Constitution?
devildog replied to devildog's topic in Speakers Corner
Sure it is. So, for the record, you are saying: Patriot Act was never passed ObamaCare was never passed The president didn't bomb a country w/o Congressional approval The Commerce Clause hasn't been used to expand Federal Power The public isn't more accepting of higher taxes during war Congress hasn't written laws that let it break laws that ordinary people would be prosecuted for breaking? All recent wars have indeed made us safer as well as richer etc. etc. We can keep going, but those are pretty concrete for the times. Are you really suggesting that speaking about the above is from the tinfoil hat crowd and nothing more? You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions. -

https://www.aclu.org/national-security/president-obama-signs-indefinite-detention-bill-law That was easy. Negative. You've attempted to prove an individual has done something that might be considered to be questionable in its Constitutionality. So, I again, I ask you to prove "...the government never took the Constitution seriously." The implication is that it is and always has been a massive conspiracy by some secret illuminati. That's simply crazy talk. There's no might about it. Indefinite detention goes completely against the 6th amendment. There is no grey, "maybe" "might" be wrong here. Let me quote it for you: "In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial..." You CANNOT have a speedy trial if you are INDEFINITELY detained. And no, the implication isn't there is a massive conspiracy by the secret Illuminati. He's saying that they are being brazen about it. And they are. Rubber Stamp for Log Book Signature
devildog replied to nakedfool's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Not always. The logs in my book at my home DZ has a number of rubber stamp sigs because the two owners have stamps. So, at the end of the day, if I've got a handful of jumps that need sigs, its easy to have them go *stamp* *stamp* *stamp* *stamp* after I pay. Granted, not all, or even most, of my jumps are signed with a stamp, but a good number are. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions. -
What if the government rejects the Constitution?
devildog replied to devildog's topic in Speakers Corner
Those "What ifs" aren't random thoughts or hypothetical situations, and that's the point. He's writing it as if it's just a fairy tale, but the fairy tale has already played out. The president HAS bombed whatever country he wants. The govt HAS spied on us, HAS brought us Obamacare, HAS bribed states, the poor, the middle, the rich, etc. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions. -

Makes sense. You need actual mental health before you can have issues with it. Nice try at a clever spin, but it doesn't even work. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.

Yet liberals have more mental health issues and are unhappier compared to their conservative counterparts. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.

She also said that she was seeking justice for, Trayvon and his family Sounds like she had her mind made up cause, in the end, Zimmerman may have been victim who just responded in self defense What about justice for Zimmerman? The jury is supposed to decide Not her STW, I heard a couple of lawyers talking about this last night as I was hauling stuff for my brother in law These lawyers say the tape of her saying this will most likely come out before and during court proceedings SYG can still apply when he gets up in front of the judge before trial. We'll see then if the lawyers can convince the judge to toss the case. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.

They definitely didn't need her to tell them that it was Trayvon doing the shouting for help. As I recall, even Trayvon's *dad* said it didn't sound like him....but this lady somehow *knows* it was Trayvon, huh? Don't worry. I'm sure this lady will prove completely reliable once she's been vetted. Just like all the other MSM bits on this story You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.

I was trying to figure out how the stand your ground law deals with somebody being taunted into a fight. Actually quite seperate from this particular incident, though that did give rise to the question. If I taunt somebody into a fight by telling him how good his sisters pussy was and then kill him since I feared for my life, would this law protect that type of behaviour? When I did my CC class, the instructor (former detective) told a story similar to this and that you would not be protected. Basically, a guy called another guy over to his house knowing he could incite the guy to violence with words, and then when the guy swung on him at his door step, he shot and killed him. Shooter was ultimately arrested and went to jail. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.

Why do you feel the need to vote? To speak in public? To be protected from unwarranted search? Especially the latter, you must be up to no good! More to your point, I've known people beaten to death in a not-at-all scary area, nor was he involved in any "stuff". I've known people attacked and nearly killed (thank God he had a gun on him at the time) just from walking out of their office late one night, again, not in a scary place. A friend of ours neighbor came home (very nice area) to a burglary in progress. I had a knife pulled on me years back just outside the grocery store that catered to a six figure+ neighborhood. etc. etc. Better to have and not need than need and not have. If this is fact, then the PD did its job and the issue is with the Prosecutor. Since Zimmerman was taken into custody, does that mean he was Arrested< yet then released? Matt don't feed the troll You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
