  1. We all know Obama doesn't do that... http://captionsearch.com/pix/thumb/2rub7eoeem-t.jpg You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  2. Bird shot is not the way to go with a shot gun load. It's penetration is horrible, and there are plenty of cases where people took a load of bird shot that just left them pissed. Check out the penetration on it. http://www.brassfetcher.com/Shotguns/Bird%201%20Side%20View.JPG It's pretty crappy. Some comparison of buckshot loads: http://www.chuckhawks.com/home_defense_shotgun_ammo.htm edit: Here's a better link to lots of gel tests: http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=109958 You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  3. CZ 52 is where it's at. 7.62x25 You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  4. You're free to do w/e you like in that regard. But I would wager that the number of people that accidentally break into a home (like the one in this story) are a lot less than those that break into homes to commit crimes. As such, statistically speaking, if a stranger is in your house -- especially late night -- and isn't leaving when you yell at them, you're better off shooting than not. Just my .02. 5. Just a minor note. Having / not having drift adjustable sights isn't going to matter. You won't be using this gun trying to shoot 1/4" groups at 25 yards. You'll be firing at very close ranges with very little time. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  6. Did AFF: Excited during ground school. A little nervous on the ride up. A great big "WTF am I doing?!" when the door opened and people started falling out like lemmings. Super surreal during freefall (but awesome). And 100% hooked ever since. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  7. The one about physics, the tandem guy having to throw her out, and no one ever rides the plane back down? You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  8. 1. Be honest about your skills. You think we assume that at 30 jumps you are a rockstar? Anyone that has organized or worked with students has a pretty realistic expectation of younger jumpers abilities. My first 4 way was #30 something. I was going solo, but a 3 man group was looking for a 4th and our manifest girl said, "Hey, why don't you three take him along?" The guy putting it together looked at me and said, "How many jumps do you have?" Me, "30 something" Him, "Any good?" "I have 30 something jumps. What do you think?" We laughed, and he said, "Alright, let's go." :) You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  9. Yeah, why would a mind altering substance have any bearing on the case whatsoever You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.

  11. You are correct. The account is GZ was walking back to his truck and TM approached and assaulted him. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  12. No... it's similar to Diablo ;) Mrs and I are playing it. Just got into Act II. To add to quade's, a large appeal is that the dungeons are randomly generated so every time you play, it's never quite the same. Mobs, general goals and quests, yes, but there's always an exploration to it, which is nice. I'm really digging the way they did skills / spells / runes. Basically you have 5 primary skills (left mouse), 5 secondary (right mouse) and then 4 slots for other abilities, as well as a few passive slots. As the game progresses, you gain new abilities, the catch is only 1 ability can be active at once per slot. So, for your left mouse button for example, you can only use 1 of the 5. These abilities can further be modified by what are called runes to suit your play style. Some help you survive. Some deal more damage. Some deal AOE damage, etc. Customization and experimentation for combos is going to play a big part. You wont need to dedicate nearly as much play time as WoW in terms of chunks or "beating" it on normal. But, like WoW, it is also a loot whore game as you want loot to better your character, its random when the good stuff drops, there's an auction hall, bosses drop really good stuff ( or can ). Playing D3 with friends is pretty easy. Add them to your friend list and hit invite. Or you can just drop in on a public game. This hits the biggest difference from WoW. WoW is an MMO, so there's 1 persistent world (per server) and hundreds / thousands of real players populate it. In D3, at most 4 people will be your world at once, and when you leave the world, it "resets". That is, the maps you visited will not be the same (they are random, like I said, for the most part in layout). Anywho, if you like the first Diablo, you ought to really like Diablo 3. 13. The numbers say that he has 294 EC votes to Romney's 170, with the rest as toss ups. Doesn't guarantee a win, but state by state numbers are much more meaningful that see a battle of the California/New York v Texas poll ballot stuffings. http://realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/2012_elections_electoral_college_map.html 243 - 170. I'll tell you right now, FL and NC are going to Romney. MO has been polling strongly in Romney's favor as well, but I wouldn't bag it for Mitt yet atm. 14. We know TM was on top of GZ pounding his skull into the concrete. That's not a red herring, nor is it speculation. Until it can be shown that GZ threatened to kill TM, it's purely speculation. You might as well start tossing every "what-if" scenario you can dream up if we're just going to open those doors. It doesn't add anything to this specific case. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  15. We really don't know if he knew GM had a gun or not. Unfortunately he is not here to give us his side of the story. I tend not to make things up to support a conclusion. So it would seem to me the best thing to assume would be that TM did not know GZ had a gun until shown otherwise. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  16. Red herring, speculation, and at no point could TM have known the guy looking at him had a criminal record (which is paltry, and certainly no worse than TM's) nor did TM know he had a gun (until he got shot). But, to answer a purely hypothetical question, if a guy you know has a record and a gun is ONLY looking at you, you still don't have the right to punch him in the face, jump on top of him, and start cracking his skull. If you want to add the caveat that the gunman (aka GZ) is threatening you, or looking to kill you, or is trying to kill you, as it pertains to this case, that's for you to prove that's what happened. Not speculate. Not guess. So far, there is no evidence or witnesses that prove GZ picked the fight or was hunting TM down with the intent to start a fight, or kill for that matter. 17. Question: At what point when your head is being repeatedly slammed into concrete by someone who is on top of you and has you pinned, do you get to decide you're going to die or suffer serious injury? When your scalp splits? How about when your skull finally give in? Or do you have to wait for perm. brain injury to occur? It's ridiculous to say you have to wait till you're a split second from death (or dying) to be allowed to shoot. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  18. I knew quite a few that wouldn't hesitate at that age, no matter how big or old you were. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  19. You mean the liberal media, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and friends jumped the gun and got it wrong? Lies! Lies I tell you! You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.

  21. I asked because the younger you are, the less the perspective on the reasons why America is widening. There have been more than a few discussion. However, you've merged two issues here - Americans' fitness and health care costs. The threat to our sports of choice are more in the second category. Doing nothing, which seems to be your proposal, is not a sound one for the future of our nation. Did you sign on to promote the decline of America? There are in fact solutions that may not cross your notions of freedom. A "lazy and fat" nation certainly is not a healthy one, and of course, I'd like to see people take a better interest in living a healthy life -- something insane like 80% of all hospitalizations are related to life style choices. And if the nation as a whole wanted to promote being healthy, eating right, benefits of exercise, etc. then I'm all for it. I'm not, however, all for govt mandating basic eating and exercise habits. Forcing people to do X instead of Y historically does not turn out well. Changing their minds and allowing them to pick X instead of Y however, has much better results. 22. Not sure where you are going with this as I'm not advocating jail time or fines based on who you want to hump in bed. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  23. Good for you, the majority of your country men and women cannot do the same. Sure they can. They choose not to. And to the point, having the govt involved is certainly *not* the answer. At what point would it be? When our teenagers are so unfit that the Marines can't get enough recruits that can survive boot camp? The divide is real. Our fit people are getting increasingly so. Our fat people are getting increasingly so in real measurable ways. (BMI may not be appropriate for athletes, but it's good enough for the couch potatoes). The number of people in the middle are shrinking. and when you look at the tens of trillions in unfunded Medicare obligations facing us in the middle half of the century, it would be foolish not to start tackling this problem now. How old are you, devildog? If you're still in your 20s, you may lack objectivity on this issue. Ah, the old age attack. Sorry, about to turn 35 here. So, what would you propose? Fines from the govt for being fat? Maybe some jail time? Do you really want a bureaucratic process that hovers over a list and deems what is and is not a healthy, safe activity? Why stop at foods? Motorcycles are 50 times more deadly than cars. Lets get rid of them too. Any "extreme" sport should go as well, skydiving included but not limited to just that. So on and so forth. You'll forgive me if that doesn't sound like "The land of the free" I signed up to defend, and that others died for. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  24. I'm never completely relaxed in the sense that I'm thinking, "Oh, this is just like walking down the side walk." There's a respectful, and I think healthy edge I'm on. My anxiety about skydiving decreased dramatically when I did my E1 jump and I realized I could get stable on my own without any trouble at all. At that point I was thinking, "Well, if things go poopy on anything, I can always get on my belly." That helped a lot. Just as a preventative tip, Brian Germain has his pilot chute packing technique on youtube. Should help a lot against horseshoes -- more so than other packing methods it seems. Personally, I would (and did) buy the little stuff first. Helmet (Benny is great if you don't want to blow hundreds $50-60). Altimeter. Goggles. Bought all those while in AFF / Student status. Then I slowly pieced together my rig. Bought my Wings new, as I wanted it a good fit, but got the main, reserve and AAD used (become friends with your rigger :) ) You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
