    Brian, I really don't get this line spec. How can you build a line set with only three measurements? Usually you have the total for the A, the cascade up for the A, and so on for the B, D, brake... Of course the outer one or two lines for each group at times have different measurements, i.e. longer to keep the canopy "straighter". Could you explain them better? Thanks! Memento Audere Semper 903

    You can install mini-ring-risers on big d-ring (#10) no problem. If you want to change a d-ring (#10) with the smaller one (#8) you need to send the harness to the manufacture or a master rigger. It is an alteration. Memento Audere Semper 903

    It starts as a regular pro pack. Once the canopy is on the ground every fold is "detailed". For BASE I use a slightly modified CR method. For reserve I use a modified Handsome Dave pack, a very neat pack by the way. Nonetheless everything starts with a normal pro. It has been working so far Memento Audere Semper 903

    I am not disagreeing here but flat packing does have less on-heading consistency than pro. I will never flat pack a BASE canopy or even a reserve for that matter. Memento Audere Semper 903

    In BASE we do pull at 120 MPH hence the 32-34" PC. BASE is not just 2-3 sec delays. In skydiving we do pull at speeds half of terminal velocities, not at 20 but around 60 is very normal for a H&P out a slow flying aricraft. Memento Audere Semper 903

    I guess you are aware of the importance of the PC in the BASE environment. Virtually all BASE manufactures chose Z-Po to fabricate their PCs. If F-111 was that much better, as you claim it is, they would use it instead of Z-Po. If you asked me I stick with Z-po. Memento Audere Semper 903

    I agree. I jump a X-FX 111 and a H-mod Viper 105 both at 1.62. The Viper is overall a much better canopy at that WL: opening, front riser pressure, it dives better, and has a longer recovery arch. The bottom-end is comparable. So for the money go with a 9. Memento Audere Semper 903

    That's what I do to all my risers. It's easy. Take some briddle webbing, the length should be six times the width of the risers, double it up and sew it together (make two). Then sew it to the rear risers as low as possible so that you have 1/3 of it sticking out on each side. It works like wonder. Memento Audere Semper 903
