I was unaware Goole Earth had detailed imagery from that time period. Would you care to link that to us? Oh wait . . . you can't . . . it doesn't exist. while this is true, the distances haven't changed, and most, if not all, of the buildings I'm talking about were built prior to the 1950's or at least made to appear so.

I guarantee silencing all others and just focusing on the same old tired and proven wrong stories will never solve anything. obviously proof is needed, and it's difficult to assume there is none before hearing what the claim is. for example, if someone with authority to do such, would look in the "Willy Vocks" case file and see if there are prints of my fathers to compare with the DB Cooper prints, or if someone were to get a search warrant and search for the briefcase. theres a good chance we would have proof. if I had the authority to make it happen I would. from looking at google earth, I can't see why it's assumed he would have been outdoors longer than a half hour. there are churches, stables, covered bridges, barns, literally hundreds of easy to find and use hiding spots, and this is not taking into account the vehicle traffic that must have been in the area driven by possible sympathizers, and or easily bought off accomplices after the fact. quite a stretch just assuming he died and somehow that money made its way to tena bar on its own. even if we don't take into consideration anything I said about the ability to tolerate cold.

Prove it. Nothing stays secret in Seattle about the Cooper case. He's like Bigfoot here. Unless you mean the show next week, and I know Himmelsbach appears on that. That's not a secret. Cook isn't coming out with a book. He can't write the final chapter. That's why he hasn't put it out yet, although he keeps promising each year. I wouldn't count on it. even if there are 4 or even more books coming out, so what? in my opinion that should be considered a good thing. more interest in the case, and a greater chance for previously overlooked evidence to emerge. if what those posting here is all honest, whats the big deal?

I'd like to know how Jo sending me emails and private messages begging for my mothers maiden name, my birth certificate and phone number equal in any way, me harassing her? in my part of the country, Jo would be considered an online stalker. if DB Cooper landed between Ariel and Amboy, there are all kinds of places he could have easily hid and dried off. at least as far as I can tell from google earth. what about grist mill? shelter, a river to toss the 3 bundles in and a road to hitch a ride?

again check out a weather almanac comparing Wisconsin to west central Mn/ east ND. quite a bit of difference in temperature. maybe that is how the construction people you know dress, it doesn't change anything here. but lets just say you guys are right, I'm sure the sun does factor in as well. whats to stop him from making a fire using the chute like a teepee or wigwam? drying off, and continuing on his way. or even going to a bar like my father said he did, getting drunk and setting up a ride? are there any roads near the suspected landing area? or bars? farmhouses? barns? any kind of shelter at all? any of these could be used to dry off. after that again the temperature isn't a problem at all. it's only a problem if he was injured and unable to get anywhere or build a shelter. does anyone know where this bar in Ariel says they got the parachute they have thats a replica of DB Coopers?

I am qualified to make the claims I have about cold weather and it's affects here in MN.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyRl_goYZ8w just to put it in perspective this is a video from Oct. of 2010. normally a tree doesn't fall on my neighbors house but this kind of weather is typical. by November temperatures begin dropping below zero more frequently and stay that way until January when at times when factoring in windchill it gets around -100 degrees. thats when we break out the cold weather gear and quit going outside as much. it usually warms back up to more tolerable sub zero weather within a few days. but until april or usually may, its below freezing. the whole winter, people work outside everyday in just flannel shirts and jeans, obviously in the -100 days they wear parkas, hats, and gloves but for the most part just a insulated flannel shirt and sometimes a jacket gets many through the entire winter.

don't forget the raincoat. first I'll have to wait until it gets that warm again. 50 degrees is tee shirt and shorts weather here. i'm not kidding! if he was carrying a load ie (working) he would have probably been sweating and even overheating, again only if He was from MN or a similar climate. we dig holes in the ice during sub zero temperatures to go swimming wearing only shorts around here for fun. the most famous group being "the polar bear club" some families barely keep their homes above 50 degrees all winter long here.

seriously everyone in MN knows that 50 degrees is nothing. it gets that cold in the summer here for christ sake. your blood adapts to the colder climate, it takes a few weeks to acclimate. some people never really do. but again. this 50 degree thing is preposterous. perhaps it was accepted in the past but now with the internet you can ask anyone from MN and find out the same thing I've said.

Perhaps you should do some research into what happens when clothing gets wet. I've personally fallen in the water in sub zero weather and it wasn't all that rough spending another 30 minutes outside with no gloves or hat only a leather motorcycles jacket long hair, teeshirt, jeans, socks, and converse all star shoes. just want to repeat I think youre absolutely right on the rest of Al's theory, just the hypothermia part bothers me. if DB Cooper was from MN, it's not a problem.

well fyi its commonplace here in MN to work all day on construction sites in colder weather with just a flannel shirt, jeans, and boots. today it was 25 degrees which is considered warm for this time of the year. we know he had a cutting device, so its plausible to think he could have improvised extra cold weather gear from the rig. but at 50 degrees, i wouldn't even need a jacket. all night personally. I wouldn't even think hypothermia is possible at that temperature.

I'm sorry, but do the people of MN possess some super-human tolerance against the laws of physics and medical science? No. On flat, level, dry pavement, a man walks at about 3 mph. In the mountains, carrying a 22 pound sack of money and over rough terrain, even on a "clear cut trail" it's considerably slower than that. However, let's just for the sake of argument say he could make 3 mph. That's a minimum of 5 hours and more than likely much, much longer. No. He's dead before he reaches the car. ive seen conflicting reports on temp. what temperature range do you feel we should assume correct? if he put his socks over his shoes and tied them in a roman configuration he would keep his shoes. if after he has gloves and a hat or full head mask. could be out in the cold all night and easily survive. could make covering from the rig if not in the paper bag. surviving the cold is not an obstacle unless he landed in water.

Well, sir, I call bullshit. A man jumps out of a jet at night, in the rain, with no indication whatsoever of where he is and hikes 15-20 miles along a "clear cut trail" directly to where he has stashed a car with a shovel all while carrying a 22 pound sack of money? How the hell would he even know he's on the right trail? How the hell does he magically land on or even near that trail? How the hell does he not die of hypothermia? No sir. This simply did not happen. I agree with all but your take on hypothermia. the temperatures in question aren't a problem for anyone from MN especially with at least 3 layers of upper body coverings.

Point taken...To correct my "last word" on the subject - when I meant that the audio comes in at the same point I meant that the audio timing, (pauses, music,, etc) is the same on both films. You are correct that the snippet's audio is out of sync with the original's audio, but the point I was trying to make is that it is out of sync from the beginning of the snippet all the way to the end. It's not like that one part was changed. I have had that happen to me when uploading a video - especially one I have cut to add another portion. My slides become out of sync with the upload as compared to the original. I guess my point is I just think that it is probably a syncing issue, not meant to purposefully mislead. I don't think the purpose was to convey anything about Thailand, but was all about the airplane and the airdrops. jmho.....

the "fervency" as you call it, is to maintain the integrity of evidence. the music and narrator saying "We're here in Thailand..." do not come in during the Japan portion at all in the original. it is a long film, and I'm sure whoever edited it to mislead people was counting on that. you're right it doesn't conflict with my story, thats not the point. whether it supports my story or not, the integrity of all evidence must be maintained as well as possible. the "Thailand" audio was added from a separate scene, and should be ignored! unless it is to establish simply knowlege that the jumptests occurred. if it's to say a person in Thailand was one of the jumpers in Japan? not likely!

I'm objective about all claims but I have watched the entire film from the gov site and the air america site. I just don't hear what you're saying with my ears and I'm not gonna download it to check db levels because....... My problem with this is... Why would someone bother to edit without taking out the Japan caption? While they were showing tests the narrator was talking about where airdrop flights were being made.. plus I think a link was included on the youtube page to the full length video. Which leads me to the final problem I have ....... if I'm not mistaken, wasn't Snowmman one of the posters who was initially debunking the theory of 727s being used this way during Vietnam? I first became aware of this film from DZ.com I saw it on Snowman's profile, along with 2 flight schedules from 1971. He also alluded to having some $20's from the DB Cooper case. I don't know what the point of any of it is, maybe he's going to claim He's DB Cooper at some point? I have no way of knowing his aims. Snoman and I stopped communicating when I refused to share a newspaper article with him, that places my Uncle in Japan, near Tokyo, working with military Aircraft's during the filming of "Flying men, Flying Machines".

I support this as well! Snowmans skepticism is a valuable asset to the DB Cooper case as a whole! We should always welcome any potential source of information regarding this case, obviously moderation is needed in some instances but as for, Snowman, I agree that He should be given a chance to participate in the conversation and stay within the forum rules again. Skeptics keep us honest, and in my personal experience can help bring out otherwise discounted or unnoticed facts which may be the key to solving this case. I will point out that I have not made an accusation against snowman, only against a film clip He uploaded here. I don't know who edited it in this misleading manner.

well I guess it depends on what youre referring to as "wrote the book"? if it's this "snoman" character who uploaded the misleading segment to DZ or this "dbcooperxfiles" who uploaded the misleading segment to youtube from the CIA/air America financed film "flying men, flying machines" portraying various military operation in Asia during the Vietnam war era, then you have been mislead. his clip was misleadingly edited to support this "Thailand theory". download it yourself and then download the original unedited film from the Govt.website and compare. extract the audio and compare it in a audio editing program, the "Thailand" part is louder and obviously added" thats not to say there weren't tests conducted in Thailand as well, (in fact the segment immediately following the Japan located 727 jump tests is in Thailand) only that the tests in the film in question were in Japan, near Tokyo. how do I know? because it flat out says so in the film, and a relative of mine was there, his voice narrates a segment in the film, and He owns an object that is shown in the film. an object that wouldn't seem unique to the average person, but is because of the backing story, which is most likely why it was on camera in the first place. it's a trophy, a ceramic pagoda looking garden statue. it was stolen as part of a persistent prank/tradition among the Men involved with these tests and put in my Uncles office on one occasion as part of this prank/tradition. later when He was leaving Japan to come home, it was presented to him as a parting gift and memento. the following url is a link to this clip which I edited to remove the added "Thailand" audio that was added by someone trying to fabricate evidence of this "Thailand test theory" remember there is a url at the end of the video to download the full film from the Govt. archives.
