  1. Or in your case, the Washington Post. Homosexuality is not an issue over there. It's not America. Do you believe everything you read? Baah _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  3. Unexpected, really. In 07' I overclaimed income and I amended the return. IRS sent me notice that they owed me $3069. But when I got the check, I got 3378.77. On the bottom of the check they anotated the fact that they had paid me interest. Till today, I always thought this was a one-way street. Who else has experienced this? _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  5. Well, here's my take on this whole thing: He may come of as a little shallow, but he is not voicing anything that is considered a minority desire. If you really think about it, there's just too many sub size eights out there to not look for a match in that size group or less. But then, I live in San diego. Your dating experience here is highly favorable to date within age/education/size/intelligence/job/personality pools. each group is too large to need to look outside to find happiness; unless you are one of those "soulmate" believers. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  8. If you're in the military then you're either doing the killing yourself or you are supporting in some manner those who do the killing. And I understand that the military does humanitarian work and all the rest, but the primary purpose is to kill "enemies". Everybody knows this. Why are you saying it as if it's going to be an epiphany to someone here? Did the thought occur to you one day and now you have this mission to let everybody know this new "dangerous" information? Or is it just another excuse to hate and feel general discontentment? _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  12. Buy the place yourself. Then have her sign a rental lease for $0 a month, no depost. Renew it every six months or so. She will have a piece of mind that she can't be kicked out without a few months' notice. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  15. And isn't it hilarious that in all these other countries, with Unions, National Health Care, Socialism and higher taxes, they make money, but in the US, they can't seem to make a dime. Uh huh . . . Different countries have different GE products being manufactured. In the U. S. for instance, they build their locomotives and jet engines. There's not much profit margins than say, stamping out splash trays for electic stoves, light bulbs, and other stuff in other countries. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  17. Yup. they loved their island countries. But GE is reporting to some high-end European nations. And, they don't have Aurthor Anderson to help them shuffle. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  18. It's a mulit-national corporation owned by people from many nations. It's an "American" company, not an American company. It did not make any money in the U. S. so it did not get taxed in the U. S. It made a lot of money in the rest of the world; it got taxed by many countries. It got taxed thousands of times over. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  19. I was just trying some price comparison here. The "Forty Years" threw me off some. Is that when he graduated, or is it when you will retire? The property we inherited cost about 40K in the 1950's. It (at the time) was a 3 bed, 1 bath 1 garage house with a view of the Pacific Ocean looking down to a developing San Diego beach community. I don't know how much the area in NJ was coveted back then, but here, I assumed that 40K was a lot of money even in the Fifties and that our house increased with inflation(to include the extra increase due to the beach). In short, who knows how much your house will cost in the many years ahead. Your "40 Years different world" may be better than his experience _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
