  1. If we are going for African names, why not from the Kalahari and Serenghetti regions? I've always wanted to run from Hurricane (Click), (Kluck), (Click), (Pop). _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  2. Funny thing. Techically, John Luke Paul Mary ect. are middle eastern names. Lots of Johns _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  3. This happens between different Christian groups. Are you saying that they are not the same because the believers morph them to something completely different when they change how they worship them? Or are you saying that the three dieties are being incorrectly linked as one due to an error of (retro-profiling?) _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  4. Oooh, maybe I brushed too broad a stroke. Either he just doesn't know or maybe his group refuses to see that. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  5. the Jews know, The Muslims know. Most Christians know. It's usually the fundamental christians, who don't realize that Christianity was originally a break-off of Judaism ,don't see that they are the same. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  6. That site rubs me the wrong way. They call high-end earners and/or over-achievers the "status quo". Sounds like a bunch of guys who have bad attitudes. If they are right about what they say about that teen, they don't have to say it in a trenchcoat wearing antisocal style. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  7. Class vs. Open. Two different things after all. Check. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  8. I'm still impressed. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  9. What ju talkin about, Willis? The U.S. Navy has some pretty good "yachts" south of Basrah. Not to worry, these type of personalities are not afraid of taking up skydiving.
  10. About half a mil worth of expensive, yes, from what I've seen online for the class .... large sailboats (and especially open ocean racers) don't come cheap! Race yachts have an extreme amout of depreciation. You can buy an IACC class boat (which costs on average of about 17 million to build) for about half a million, and sometimes even for $250,000. A Clarke Open Class 40 without rigging or electronics goes new for 280,000 Euros. I don't know if the Open boats are more or less expensive than the Class boats. I seem to recall mention in Abby's blog that her boat was about $350k, before the upgrades they did. I could be wrong on that, though. A paypal account has been set up to try to raise money to tow the sailboat back to port, evidently. Owen Clark is a builder who builds Open 40's. There's also Roger's and Peterson's, ect. ect. When referencing class, it just means the builder with the word "class" added to it. It is still an ocean going sailboat that follows "Open 40" rules of construction. 280,000 euros it is. Double it up, and we may have the full price of the boat. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  11. You got two years to join a reciprocal yacht club in your area, become a flag member and sail at her level. this one is going to be hard to impress _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  14. Everybody partys in college. Fraternities and Sororities are just able to organize them a hell of a lot better. They have the resources. As far as the Hazing, a good program builds comradreship these organizations require. . .a good program. I was a Theta Chi in college, so I am going to talk positive, of course. The average Fraternity is about 150 years old. Practically all of them originated from the 1800's and the bulk starting in the time frame from the Civil War to the Great Depression. Lots of history and Traditions. As far as experience? For every person that gets in trouble and party to excess till they drop out, there are others who actually put in the hard work of managing the generations old organizations. These groups do not stay online by accident. It requires a good amount of leadership and initiative. You can be busy. Along with the studying, you have your piece of the responsibility to perform. And with 50 to 100 people with the same goals as you have to hang around with, you probably will not have much more time to hang out with other people. Some people will call you snobby, but you have more important things to worry about. You are not "buying friends", you have to pay dues. The same people that you join up with would essentially be the same type of people you would hang out with if the Fraternity did not exist. If they don't think you will hack it in there, or if they straight out don't like you, no amount of money will buy your way in. I will always recommend joining a Fraternity. It's part of the college experience, it creates legacy for your kids, makes things easier and cheaper to be a part of like community projects, socials, formals, intramural sports and usually, an important part of the voting student body. Our Intra Fraternal Councils (think the U.N. of Fraternities and Sororities) was able to bring in popular bands to play in our football stadiums(ex. eagles, Blind mellon,(yup, aging myself here)) run the homecomings, pre-post football, basketball game events. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  15. that is in relation to which direction the wind source is blowing; at the tail. Relatively there's no tail-wind, but to another observer the wind is still blowing. The column of air is still moving. Overall, the wind provides all; the wheels and props are like some sort of lever. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  16. It's not a cycle. the wind pushes on the vehicle(and blades) which rolls the wheels that spin the prop. The prop bites into the incoming wind that would provide drag on the prop and decreases any drag that would otherwise halt acceleration beyond wind speed and throw it back towards the tail-wind(the only real source of power). the tail-wind plus the positive pressure at the back of the blades and vacuum in front of the blades allows the chasis to speed up past the speed of the tail-wind. The wind is pushing on the cushion of air as a result of the spinning of the blades now. Not the blades themselves. I believe that if there wasn't any loss of energy from the wheels turning the prop, the vehicle could theoretically accelerate to infinity instead of meeting some speed equilibrium. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  17. So if I'm to lower my standards........(skinny girl who isn't bat shit crazy).....when will you ladies lower your standards and go for pudgy guys with poor hygiene? After all it's an equal opportunity world here. edit, Speaking to a friend who is a Chem E regarding body type and location of birth and she really had some interesting thoughts as to the type of food we eat here in the states as kids and how they alter how our bodies develope. Where by in the EU the food is resher and lower in artifical colors and every one walks or bikes to and from work and school while we in the US eat way too much processed food and drive to and from every location. Might want to bypass Malta. Mc Donalds popped all over that place and in the years of coming and going throughout the Med and stopping there, I've noticed the young populace not being as svelte as before. Just move to California. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  18. And this is the thing that gets me: It appears that the only source of propulsion is the wind. the wheels do nothing but provide the "rollers" for the chassis to roll on and it spins the propellers. The blades will always provide an area to get pushed by the wind, regardless of it's spinning. Issue two: What pitch setting is the blades? If the leading edges are toward the rear of the vehicle, I can see that the rotation of the blades turn the wheels and speed is dependent on the wind's push and rotation of the wheels. All this time I assumed that the pitch was towards the front, and that the wind resistance of the bulk of the vehicle prevented the inital backwards windmilling as it would make the wheels move in reverse towards the wind(if the gearbox is designed in reverse of the rear-pointing pitch). A flat pitch would mean that it can only travel the speed of the wind and the rotation caused by the wheels have no effect(except slowing the chasis itself due to friction). rotation or not, the blades are still in the way of the wind. Here it seems that the wind is pushing the chasis and the blades and the wheels are the ones rotating the props. If there is a negative pitch, I can see your argument. I doubt that the wheels have any input to the power of propulsion. It's just there to rotate the prop. A positive pitch would cause the props to thrust against the tailwind. That is, the wind is now pushig against the positive pressure of thrust caused by the blade rather than the actual blade itself. There would be a problem of initial windmilling in the wrong direction from the stop, but helping it would be the fact that windmilling will cause the wheels to turn backward and the vehicle will push against the wind. I'm not an engineer though, and I am probably arguing against a system that I cannot see or comprehend. it just makes sense in my non-engineer world. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  19. I figured it was: the wind pushes at the back of the prop thus pushing the whole vehicle forward thus rolling the wheels that are mechanically linked to the prop that starts to spin. the spinning prop's condition has a positive pitch that produce a cushion of positive-pressure air to add to the tail-wind thus adding total push on the back of the blades. I figure it's a perfect balance of prop (RPM?) condition and friction caused by the linkage system, rolling wheels, and resistance caused by the bite of the blade slicing through the air. Someone tell me why I may be wrong. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  20. I thought our current tax system is already based on 'voluntary compliance, just like traffic lights'... not the common sense version of course, but the government's definition, where you get thrown in jail for not voluntarily complying. This sounds like someone who is trying to use philosophy to explain why that person doesn't want to obey the rules. It's too bothersome or laziness to go with established rules so lets throw a paradigm shift to weasel out. Funny thing is, this is why there are so many rules out there to begin with: People "nuking" the puropse of the rules and make conceptual errors in thinking therefore loosing touch with why the rules are there in the first place. The enforcers quit trying to explain after a while and just shake heads while doing the arrests. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  21. But the only connection the article even comes close to pointing to the Crown is with the Rothschilds. And, it's a weak connection at best. They do talk of other mutiple bank ownership in your article. They, however, don't tell about the other 3000+ owners of the stock. But this doesn't matter. This so called "stock" is synonomous with public traded options in nomenclature only. It isn't the same thing. They can't sell or trade it. And, all members of the BOD and FOMC are Americans. Not one Brit. This paranoia. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  22. I know it's important for you to believe that people who don't accept this tripe is "hiding his head in the sand". But I can't ablige you here. This doesn't prove your "FED is a Private owned bank" statement. In fact, the article is trying to prove the FED's public ownership by many of the people in the sights of the CT Establishment. Also, based on the site's disclaimer: . . . the site is not enforcing standards of its editorials. The disclaimer is in a very visible place and you can't miss it. So, 1) it's a site dedicated to "gold bugs" and 2) they let anything get posted without oversight. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  23. So, what's the name of the guy that owns the Federal Reserve? from here: http://news.goldseek.com/GoldSeek/1095269452.php "OWNERSHIP OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE Most Americans, if they know anything at all about the Federal Reserve, believe it is an agency of the United States Government. This article charts the true nature of the "National Bank." Chart 1 Source: ** Federal Reserve Directors: A Study of Corporate and Banking Influence ** - - Published 1976 Chart 1 reveals the linear connection between the Rothschilds and the Bank of England, and the London banking houses which ultimately control the Federal Reserve Banks through their stockholdings of bank stock and their subsidiary firms in New York." It would seem to be the British. "The Federal Reserve will always debase the currency to take its cut, and guarantee that the government has a tax base available to feed its bureaucratic family. The government is a total slave of the Federal Reserve." "While all this destruction is occurring, money diverted by the mechanism of currency debasement is constantly being transferred to the British Crown in the City of London. " Thought so. . . Same old conspiracy theory tin-hatter bullshit. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
