  2. Good points. After all. . . Why do christians have any fear at all? they should be brave to the point of suicidal indifference to consequences. They are supposively going to a better place. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  3. We can easily be replaced because of the fact we train our replacements. Truth be told. . .most people cannot Serve. They usually are not healthy enough. We actually get college graduates we turn away because they cannot pass simple tests. You make huge assumptions about the Military because you don't know anything about it. I am positive you cannot survive our qualifications, tests, emotional or stamina requirements. You are not strong enough. Tell me the true context of Kissenger's quote and where it is documented outside of rumor. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  5. No. The Military has many people in DC and elsewhere who represent military issues already. With the VA, the VFW's, DAV's, ect. ect. who needs representation? Which goes back to my original point, why do the Police or firefighters need a union? There are a lot of retired people in other public sector jobs that "need" unions. I'm looking for more than "well, they are military..." They are hired by cities and counties. different rules and regulations for each area. I believe their total wages or retirements may be negotiable. We are hired by the Federal Govt. One single big organization under one single set of rules. Maybe if the military was unionized, our retirement would be better protected and we would have some ability to negotiate before it gets cut. Interesting thing about that. Our retirement is US code (title 10, sub title A, part 2). Theirs is something that is a contract. Ours is law, thiers is contracts. Either/or, it wouldn't matter. Contracts can be negotiated and laws can be changed by vote. Also, we would not be able to strike. When people enlist, they sign a contract. Don't you think they should have some say before someone comes in and just decides to change the terms of that deal? You don't sign anything that ever locks you with a retirement. The US Code is the only guarantor. Unfortuneate since that can be repealed at any time. Now, everyone, at their 15 years gets a chance to take a "Redux" or the default "High 3". That contract is the only thing that you will ever sign in the Service that has your name and type of retirement on the same sheet of paper. When the time comes, and you decide to go with the "High 3", still sign the doc stating the "High 3". You don't have to and let the time expire and default to your High 3, but, you wouldn't have signed a guarantee of either. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  10. Because just like credit, it was used. When the phrase "printing money" is used, it's not the literal action of ordering the printing presses to print dollars to be thrown out to the public. It's the FED selling bonds (borrowing) or buying bonds(taking money out of the economy) that puts money in and out thus increasing/decreasing interest rates ect. The FED is increasing/decreasing money supply by means of influencing behavior of banks and people. If the people don't take the FED up on their offer by utilizing the opportunity made available, then the "printing" isn't a complete process. Kind of like an open circuit. By you spending cash or using credit, you are in a sense, closing the circut and allowing the dynamics of "printing money" become a reality. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  11. You should have been pissed off by the fact that his use of a credit card just inflated the monetary system and you are now forced to pay for a portion of his purchases!!! Bet ya' never thought of that angle did 'ja mate? Kind of like you using cash, huh? _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

Meh. . .Better than being enslaved by cholera, tuberculosis, the Wild West, droughts, dust bowls, JD Salinger and lack of parks that allows homeless people to pretend to be free. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  14. Doesn't matter to me. Seems like they believed what I believe. . . Why make public domain the Bin-Laden's successful attack? It will become a trophy to his success. Google is your friend. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  16. you completely missed my point. I was saying: How is the "truth" going to help you if you don't have the experience or knowledge to condem or give props to military operations. You do not know what to do with the information. Or what it means. there's a difference between secret govt programs and individual people. It's called common sense. You have complete records of how the person you are electing has voted in the past. Nobody in the public sector is safe from scrutiny. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  17. What is the lie here? And how would you know if what is the truth or a lie since you have an serious limit to the knoweldge of how things work in this arena? Thanks for saying it for me
  18. Give me some of these Truths. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  20. I have some rental property in the San Diego area, OB, Point Loma and near the college. I tell you it's highly improbable that the owners didn't know that an eviction was going to happen. The average time from non-payment to actual foreclosures here seem to happen between one to two years due to the backlog of forclosures. Your owner probably knew for at least a year or so, probably did a tactical default since it's a rental vs. a primary home. The property manager may not have even known. I doubt that you can get kicked out just because the owner defaulted. Even if the property changes owners, there is an eviction process and that takes anywhere from two to three months. sometimes even more. There are laws that protect renters. I will tell you this. . .San Diego County seems to favor renters over "wealthy, scabby, slumlord" landlords. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  22. Interesting to me that just in recent history we've realized the value of gold as a conductor and now it is widely used in computers, etc. Acient cultures really had no use for gold ,other than as you stated ornamental items. So why did they go to such great lengths to stockpile this commodity? And not just on one continent but globaly !! Any ideas? Because it is easily malleable and it shines. A lot less work than other metals. Motivation is universal in the human being. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  23. Those who bought in at the peak in 1980 died before they broke even. Pity to be them. Tell me kelpdiver, Considering this metals relative worthlesness for creating pottery, plowshares or weaponry, why do you think ancient cultures around the globe started collecting gold? To create beautiful things. In many, there was no monetary value to them. In fact, they were surprised that the conquistadors was so enamored by it. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  24. Nah. You couldn't show me the policies. You probably "read between the lines" and follow religiously to the website of your leanings. You don't know where to look. It's all unclassified, but you wouldn't have known that because you immediately assumed that it's written by a bunch of chump military types. Probably would blow your mind that there is a lot of liberals who publish those papers. I'll give you a hint in a google search: Use "Monterey" in your string of words. You are on your own for the others. Everyone. I'm just as unpopular as you are _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
