  1. I used to look forward to it as being a rite of passage. I'll now be quite happy to never have to chop.
  2. Inexcusable ... Sometimes Drunks say stupid, inflammatory things. An LE Professional should know enough not to take any of it seriously, & to protect his/her charges until they sleep it off. I don't care if she sobers up to still be the nastiest B**** alive. There is no excuse for this behavior. He could've killed her. Fire Him before he hurts anyone else.
  3. Do you disagree that the American public have hamstrung the US military by not having the appetite to fight wars for years on end? Or maybe you think that the US military wasn't up to the job regardless? I believe the 1% use the military to make profits... Their ability to Wag the Dog has become progressively less, over the past few decades. My comment was directed at Mpohl's non-fact based hatred of my country. Limited Rules of Engagement have caused obvious ill effects. His disrespecting >230 years of American valor & sacrifice doesn't change a thing. As the last remaining Superpower, he knows we could turn his ancestral sandbox into a pane of glass w/the touch of a button...
  4. One extra freefall alarm (the optima has 3, get out, pull and oh-oh), with appearantly pulsating tones between the first and second freefall alarm(like you'd get on your optima between 2nd and 3rd canopy alarm), so you know how much longer you can track. Quattro manual does not mention the pulsating tone between 2nd and 3rd canopy alarm. So I assume that's not in there. Quattro has 3 climb to altitude alarms. Optima does not. Perfect if you need to be woken up during the plane ride. In the end, it does look like the quattro has a small extra edge for wingsuit/bigway (as advertised). I don't have one (only an optima II), those are just the differences I see right now, by reading their manuals. Correction: My Optima II definitely does have 3 climb-to-altitude alarms. Ditto. Not even sure if It's limited to three. I use three. Only difference I'm aware of, is that fourth free fall alarm.
  5. Your ignoring what I've said doesn't make your BS any more true. You can drop dead, along w/every other worthless Sack in this country. I'm done w/you. Carry on....
  6. "Jealous of those who earn MERIT scholarships to top schools, aren't you? The students the schools WANT to attend, so they give them full scholarships to attract them. Apparently you weren't in that group." I worked 2-3 jobs at a time, while taking classes. That continued for the seven years it took to get my BS Degree. I can count the number of classes that I didn't get an A in, on one hand. In each case, it was because I had to choose between getting a couple hours of desperately needed sleep, or putting that time to more thoroughly writing a paper or something. There are MANY more People just like myself who truly earned merit scholarships, but didn't get any. My BS Degree is heavy in the sciences. They would've wanted me. If you're referring to some elite Schools for trust fund babies? I wouldn't have wanted THEM. "Most unlikely - my wife is an MD. (That's a DOCTOR, you know)." "You are sadly misinformed to the point of being clueless." So what? I hope your Wife is the same kind of person you are. Otherwise, I'd feel sorry for her. I don't live in the sticks. Doctors I'm friendly with have discussed finances enough for me to understand their earnings. I know the kind of money they make. "Nope. Lousy guess. I am a full professor and Associate Dean of Engineering." There You go again, measuring Life's only worth as being how many of those zeroes someone has... Only an Associate Dean, huh? Come back when YOU achieve something. "Your jealousy is more and more apparent with every post you make. Come back and criticize when you've actually achieved something in life." It's not jealousy. I'm happy when good people put in hard work, & reap the rewards. It's the gross wasting of resources on bad people that I detest. Just because I don't have as many zeroes after my name. That doesn't mean I haven't achieved much in life. You show your true colors loud & clear in every post. I hate to burst your bubble, but you're NOT under my skin. I can tell someone like you off, & happily go back to my day. You're a deplorable waste of resources, & a horrible human being. May Fate find you, soon
  7. Hi Bill, No Worries. I'm not invested in Kallend's BS. I just felt like smacking him while bored, one night. I see him for what he is. Super nice Guy?? Sorry, but anyone who espouses the entitled, Libertard views that Kallend does, isn't super nice. He's just doing that because it serves his own interests. That, &/or because He's spineless. I usually don't bother getting involved in SC because there are so many People who just love to troll. You have a good day, Bill
  8. "Check out what valedictorians with perfect ACTs and SATs get from top schools." There are many more people who maintain solid GPAs, & don't get anywhere near the handouts that you did. There are even more such People who were well on their way, but got blindsided by fate... Could've been a health problem, bad luck, or whatever. Only a spoiled Idiot, or self-deluding/lying Sack would deny Fate's hand in all of Life's endeavors. If Your overall tax rate is higher? It's because the Über-rich like Buffet have so many tax tricks given to them by the Govt. I'd never seen a chart like the link you posted. Ninety fifth Percentile w/only a little over $100K? That doesn't sound right. My area is chock full of People making those numbers. Jealous of high Earners? No, You're wrong there, too. I work w/Doctors that can buy & sell you & your entire family... I've been in Nursing for almost twenty years, now. I've noticed something over those years. Some Physicians appreciate the incredible good fortune that they've had in life. They want to give back to People. They're good People. I sometimes find myself humbled by their altruism. They're well-grounded, & a pleasure to be around. Then... there's the other side of the coin. Your side of the tracks, Kallend. I see Physicians who refuse to acknowledge just how lucky they were in Life's lottery. Who would never admit just how easily something could've gone wrong, & derailed their futures. They become highly cynical, intolerant, & pessimistic. Them, I don't admire one iota... You're making $100K a year? Congratulations. From the content of all the posts I've seen of yours. I don't view you as a "High Achiever". There's a lot more to life than how many zeroes are in your bank accounts... Your arrogance & cynicism have cost you far more than you've gained. One day, when Fate takes those extra zeroes away from you. You'll have less than nothing. Best of Luck w/that...
  9. "Got through college on merit scholarships," Those were handouts. Lots of People have great GPAs. They get squat for assistance. "On checking the numbers it looks like I pay more federal tax than 95% of WORKING Americans, or about 98% of all Americans." There you go again w/those figures. Where are they, exactly? Sources? "Yep, handed it all on a plate, just like my buddy Rockefeller. And I pay my taxes without whining" In a sense, you're every bit as spoiled. Lots of good people work for years &years, having nowhere near as much cash to show for it. "...even though my overall tax rate is higher than that of Mitt Romney or Warren Buffett." More BS. Behold the God who bothers to pick arguments w/us mere mortals.... Show me some proof, not the same rehashed, unsubstantiated claims.
  10. I call BS x2, then... Back it up w/numbers. An Engineer, & part time canopy coach, in the top fifth percentile??? Show me a true master of their own destiny, & I'll show you a self-deluded (or lying), spoiled Weanie....
  11. Fail. I pay more towards running the government than most. In fact, based on IRS data, more than about 95% of Americans and some six times the national average. And I approve my tax dollars going to research on obesity. I call Bullshit. More than 95% of Americans? Your last name isn't Rockefeller ... You do have the detached demeanor of someone who was handed too much in life, though. If Life hadn't handed you so much. You'd be a lot more particular in how the Government pisses it all away.
  12. It's paradoxical, but I know of many Police officers who treat their sidearms as no more than an accessory to their uniform. They only maintain them, sporadically. They only go to the range to qualify... This, despite their being far more likely to be involved in a shooting. I, & other gun owners I know, put far more effort into our proficiency.
  13. "So THIS is why I'm a little apprensive about starting." If You only knew ....
  14. Just finished reading through this thread. I want my 3 minutes back... The above Reply comes closest to the truth. I've been friends w/several Lesbians over the years. There's A LOT of Lesbians who are VERY attracted to 300 Butch types. A Lesbo friend pulled me aside, one day. She pointed out a female cop who was an honest 300#s. She told me how sexy she thought the Cop was. It was NOT the uniform. It's a part of their sexual orientation. >$2.2 million pissed away to maybe learn what a few informal discussions would teach ... Monies wasted for a BS reason, to begin with. This Govt. is beyond repair....
  15. Oh, OK. As others have alluded to, already. The main point is that big, dirty money heavily funded the anti-recall efforts. They figured they could buy their legislation, like always. Even @6:1 spending, POSs like Bloomberg had their teeth kicked in on this one. They're now trying to downplay the significance of the recall. They're loudly proclaiming that the restrictive laws are still on the books. For Now... Just like other Supporters of those unjust laws are still in office. For Now... The 2014 Elections are going to be fun. Dead Men_walking .
  16. Sorry, but I disagree. It wasn't just AR15.com folks. Lots of firearms Owners have no interest in owning a black gun. They are, however, greatly interested in anyone infringing their rights. I'm glad they got their teeth kicked in. They deserved it. The laws they pushed through, against the Constituents' wishes, will be addressed.

  18. Devil's Advocate: Is the padding in that Helmet thick enough to protect your skull from those (male) metal bits sticking down through the shell? Looks neat, but that's how they slaughter Cows .
  19. I realize that, but figure hanging 150#s will only crack a perfectly good G3. I've read that as little as six pounds of force, properly applied, can break a human neck.
  20. Looks like a great idea, Brian. Have you hung that helmet from the GP mount, & slung a 50# weight from the chinstrap, yet? Would that be an accurate test of whether or not it releases under load? I hope so. I like it best out of all the options I've seen, so far. Thank You.
