Wrong advice. The cable that goes to the riser that has the RSL attachment will be slightly longer. This is done so the RSL does not pull the reserve pin before the other riser has released and is clear. Be safe. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

You mean 98%. Didn't it happen twice? Be safe. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

With only 4 jumps on it I wouldnt worry about trying to max the suit out just yet.

OOPS! ...Bad Ju-Ju! Maybe I will now jump on you here, just a little bit. ...Please, even if you THINK your RSL has pulled ...Pull ALL your handles for YOURSELF anyway!! Everything you do in this sport becomes habit, and THAT is indeed a BAD habit to get into. If you have an RSL in your rig in the 1st place, I can next to guarantee you that it will "beat you". You should STILL PULL that silver handle, RAGARDLESS! Next time you may not have an RSL, or it could fail, or what-have-you. Seriously. I would be concerned at this point that you have still NOT "proven" that you can completely (and correctly) execute your EP's ...because even in this case now, you have NOT. Kristin, please get back in the hanging harness, and work this through some more, talk with a mentor or instructor, THINK about it, then RE-PRACTICE it. I'm sorry, but this statement here in your case has just concerned me and set off "alarm bells" that I do now think you will need to address. Don't worry Grant, I have spoken to her about it and she completely understands what she should have done. I think being it was her first reserve ride, she was alittle slow getting to her reserve handle after pulling her cutaway, thus she already had a reserve over her head, and being the smart girl she is, saw no sense in pulling it out of the pocket. I'm thoughly convinced that should she have another malfuction, she'll be ready to take the correct actions and BOTH of the handles will be no where in site! Be safe. Who said anything about "lame"? Yes, and I said that's what I have found in jumping the Nitro/Nitron 108. Be safe. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

You dont need to be at a DZ to learn how to pack, but you probably don't have a rig to pack of your own. If you know a jumper with a rig thats a friend, and they know how to properly teach someone how to pack, you could do that. Other then that, IMO there isn't much else you can do away from the DZ that will get you closer to your A. I was in Iowa a couple weeks ago and the weather was 75, but the wind was blowing like hell! You do now! Had some close calls jumping my 80VX and my Velocity 96 though, but now I mainly jump a Nitron/Nitro 108 and IMHO I feel it's the best of both worlds, in nice openings, consistantly on heading and great swoops.

Yes, take them to your rigger and have him/her adjust/shorten the correctly for your size harness. Be safe. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Depending on what DZ your jumping at, it may be packed by someone that has never even made a skydive before! Or it can be packed by you, a rigger or someone being supervised by a rigger. You don't have to know how to skydive just to pack a parachute, and for that matter, you can be a rigger without ever making a skydive. It's fairly simple, and many kids that grow up on the DZ's pack hundreds of parachutes even before they ever get to make a skydive! Be safe. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Some reserve risers have larger velcro covering the entire toggle and stowed steering line, not just the small amount used to stow the extra steering line. I always suggest you should take an extra few seconds (if altitude allows) to peel the velcro back and unstow the toggles at the same time so you don't have any problems, after all this is your last canopy to land safely with. You pretty much said what your going to do, and your correct. After your controllability check, find your landing area and wind direction, stay up winding of your check point 1 and look for other canopies all the time. You can practice flaring your canopy and feel the air go still when it is stopped. You can also use this feeling when you come in to land. Ask your Instructor these questions BEFORE you jump though. Been gone for awhile but now im back
bodypilot1 replied to darksteppa1's topic in Introductions and Greets
If your profile is right, and you have only did 2 jumps, I'd suggest to start over and the DZ you jump at will probably also. If you think your past performance was bad enough to think you need the wind tunnel to save you from repeating your levels, then go do the tunnel and then you still have to finish all the AFF levels. Feel free to PM me about my private course I run just north of you. It may save you some money and time in the tunnel after I know how much you have retained from your training 6 months ago. Be safe. If your just no jumping it for a month or so, make sure it's stored in a gear bag in a closet or some place where it's not got to get to hot or be in the direct sun light. If you not jumping it for a long time. Have a rigger take you cypress out. (in case batteries leak) It's best to store it unpacked in a bag that won't allow any moisture inside. Keep it out of the sunlight also. Be safe. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

What it means is you have to complete the Targeted Learning Objectives or TLO's until you have done them seccessfully, and sometime that can take more then just 2 jumps. Both cards require a H&P from 3500ft. You can practice them at a higher altitude until you feel like you can do them from 3500ft, thats why they have one at 5000ft on the other card. You have SO MUCH time when doing your H&P at 3500ft, but most think they dont. Relax and do a 5 count as you watch the plane fly away then pull. It's really easier then you think.

I'd have to say no. Birdman Pantz are just like regular freefly pants but they have slots for inflation, where as PF pants are more something like ski pants that inflate. Greatly different and I have never seen anyone freefly in PF pants. But you never know.... Be safe. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
