  2. Any details of how your canopy opened? Be safe Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  3. Ummmm.... maybe you should reword this to say something like ---- the jumper was able to regain stabilty and pull in the proper orientation --- had this not been possible the jumper should have pulled while in the spin at a resonable altitude to deal with the line twist/possible malfunction. Don't spend the rest of your life trying to get stable should be the message --- you can survive pulling unstable. You just said it. No need to rewrite it. 4. No it won't. If you have to use your reserve, you will be so glad to get rid of your main and have a good canopy over your head. Reserves are not always a guarantee. Assessing your main canopy malfunction to determine your surivablity, as a student, isn't very easy. Thought it is very easy for other jumper to criticize the person for keeping the canopy, and say what they would have done given that situaton, in this case, he may have made the right decision because he walk away from it safely. 7. Anyone know the experience level of the person? Cutting away the wings that fast leads me to think they don't have much? They said they were bumped on exit, but I didn't see anyone even close to them. Be safe Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

As some have said, dress correctly for the evaluator/student size, and dress your eval/student correctly. And always try to be one step ahead of your eval/student. Also, evaluators will respond to the correct hand signals during your eveluation dives, so learn to use them when they need them. Be safe Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

  16. Just like Picture Always Lacks color...... In all seriousness, I used to be a video guy for the University of California Davis. PAL is actually a better technical format. (Random aside: anyone ever heard of SECAM?). The good news is that HDTV is pretty much one standard globally, so once we all move over to HD, the endless annoyance of PAL-NTSC conversions ought to be at an end. For all you serious folks...... IT WAS A JOKE! Be safe Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

It stays attached to them. Some took it between the legs as the canopy inflated , but the landings were more impressive if they didn't get the tether on the outside of their legs when the barrel hit the ground. Be safe Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Here are a couple pics when we trained some PJ's with 200 jumps out at Crows Landing. Yep, it was fun giving them ratings, as we were able to train them out of the Black Hawks, but after we pasted them to carry military passengers, they were riding 345 pound tethered barrels out of the plane.
