Anything happening in central California?
bodypilot1 replied to diverdad's topic in Events & Places to Jump
From Visalia the closest DZ is a small C182 DZ is 65 miles in Madera. $19 to 10.5K Taft is 109 miles south and should be your closest turbine DZ after that, and since your a farmer in the midwest you'll feel right at home on the drive out there! $22 to 12K (?) Hollister is 160 miles, runs a King Air with a landing area that is a 25 min van ride back to the DZ. Lodi is 172 miles, runs a Beech99 or Otter, grass landing next to hanger. $15 to 13K and $100 tandem for the wife. Byron is 185 miles, runs King Air. $22 to 13K Monteyey is 200 miles and runs just about the fastest King Air on the PLANET. Skydance is 235 miles and runs a PAC. Hope this helps. This Glide System 1 demo should fit someone in size from 5'10" to about 6' 1" tall and up to 200lbs. It has the larger tail wing for the "experienced" wing suit pilot, so if you have some experience in a high performance wing suit, come and give it a go! It truly depends on the individual student, their mental capacity and their physical ability. Too many jumps in a day is less productive in some cases. Be safe Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Yes, even if you didn't have the 70mins in the tunnel. Where are you located? Or thinking of taking your AFF? Be safe Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Send a PM to Pete Swan, he may be able to tell you some about it. Be safe Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Yep, it happens right at 300 jumps and only 2 yrs in the sport. I've seen MANY just like you leave the sport. Try instructing, it will make jumping more rewarding and worth while inbetween your "fun jumps". Be safe Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

QuoteDo you fail AFF students if their barrel rolls or flips are not perfect but they can recover from the instability? Quote That would be No, and not even a good comparision. An AFF student is new to everything in freefall, and also their body orientation in the air, whereas the experinced skydiver, after learning to control his or her body in every orientation before even trying to fly a wingsuit., usually flys a suit better and learns to regain their control faster should they ever get out of control. Having the reserve side there is mainly to hold the student stable, while the main side is able to release with one hand, give the correct hand signals if the student needs them, and to assist the student during the pull. I have seen on video, the main side and reserve side giving 2 different hand signals to the student. To avoid this situation, if I even have a reserve side with me, I always explain to them that "I" will be the one to give hand signals to the student during the jump, but then again, on many of the student level 3 release jumps, the reserve side will hose the exit and never get back in the skydive, which really pisses me off......... Most I/E's will respond to signals, but some I/E's dont want an Instructor candidate that is over eager to give the hand signals when they feel it's not needed, and then it may look as though they aren't responding. One of the most important things you have to learn as an AFFI is to, "let the student fly". Good ground prep with your student and seeing how and what they repeat back to you about their skydive, will usually translate to a good skydive while your in the air.

Me too! Too bad for him though, because he did perfect up until that point, and I had to pull for him so he had to repeat that level. I have seen one student on video give the "peace sign" back to his Instructor while he was back sliding. Be safe Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
