Hey Spy...thanks for taking the time to fill me in on the DZ! I really appreciate it. It sounds like a nice, cozy DZ. Were there a lot of students around? Possibly not yet at this time of the year. With two planes, it probably wouldn't matter too much anyway if they keep em both up most of the time. Thanks again! New pin jewelry!

The only injury I've actually witnessed happen so far was from an experienced jumper not flaring at all before impact. It was horrible to see, and luckily he lived. Don't be distracted. Just flare!! Please. New pin jewelry!

I love Fat Tire, and have recently grown fond of Pete's Wicked Ale. I, personally, think all beer is good beer EXCEPT the fruity ones. What the heck is with the putting fruit in beer?! That's not beer! That's a wine cooler posing as a beer! :) Some of it is okay, but *I* wouldn't call it beer, even if they do! New pin jewelry!

Hey, went there when I was a kid, maybe 13 :) See, I have always wanted to skydive :) My poor parents had no idea what they were starting. But I remember sucking back then and not getting very high in the tunnel because I couldn't hold myself right. Anyways...I'd be interested to know what you think of the DZ you go to there. We are considering that area as one of our choices after school is out for the kiddos if Merrick hasn't found anything by that time. (I have an Aunt nearby but she doesn't 'get' it when I ask how the DZ's are around there when she tries to get us to move to that area *G*) New pin jewelry!

I'll do ya one better Jessica. Today it was about 70, a slight breeze, not a cloud in the sky and our home DZ was maybe 2 miles from where we were doing family shit! We kept watching the damn plane flying over and cursing. A couple more weeks we'll have all of our gear and we're gonna SO make up for all of this! New pin jewelry!

ROFL! That's fantastic! I love it...get a cutey coach and jump with him! (OH! I forgot to add, I'm not sure if he's even in the US right now, but there's this hotty named Ramone here on DZ.com who is an awesome freeflyer and did his damndest to show me a headdown while we were in Houston. What a sweetheart...and so good natured about how badly I did :) Perhaps he does some coaching?

Oh def'ly guys. Merrick and I started out all conservative and screwed ourselves that first year. We were trying to do a 'couple jumps each a month'. Made IAD last forever! How dumb. But we all know it's an excuse ;) Poor whuffos. They get tired of coming up with em too :) My mom is coming around so well, that she actually bought my brother a tandem for his birthday so he would finally go and not have the money excuse...he came up with a new one about the dz being too far away. Mmmm hmmm...they are skeered :) New pin jewelry!

Oh thank you :) It really is pretty awesome to have so many people all over the world who are wearing something I made (and now Merrick too!). It's even better when I get such nice compliments. I even got a thank you card from someone the other day...Susan if you lurk here, thank YOU! Clay...that's pretty funny actually. I actually forgot about something of that nature once while gone and my mom decided to clean the house for me as a 'surprise' while feeding my dogs. She found some ropes. She said she was jealous, and amused :) New pin jewelry!

EXACTLY! I went through this badly. The first time I started spinning badly was the time I lost altitude awareness and went way too low. Bad news. I was freaked about it after that. I had a terrific JM going with me...friends video'ing me and no one could figure it out. (Well, at first it was the legs, and I was very, very stiff...then after those were fixed, we were still spinning....it was just slowed down.) What helped. Merrick knew I was freaking out and about to quit...JM was trying to tell me to relax (don't look at the pink elephants), finally Merrick told me to try doing a flip. JM agreed that perhaps we should quit working on my problem for a jump, work on something else. It totally worked!! It was so fun, and got my mind off of over-working my problem. Never spun again.
