Oh, I don't disagree that it has an actual physical response in your body that is habit forming, what I don't think happens, though, is my brain cells die little by little from it. I don't think I can OD on it either, as a friend of mine did..turning her into practically a vegetable, and that sort of thing. Definately habit forming tho... Wildblue makes a good point, but I also don't agree that a crack habit is the same as skydiving. I know we sometimes joke that it's like a drug habit, but I'd like to think that it's not, really...not in the damaging way that drugs are. Skydiving is really no different then any other possible problem in a relationship. There will always be something, even seemingly insignificant things, that will make or break a relationship. It can be big like money, children, your families (biggie!), or smaller things like cleaning, watching sports on tv, or leaving friggin baby powder all over the bathroom that gets on my clean work slacks...err... sorry... flashbacks from ex-hubby. (Baby powder?! I know your junk sticks, but that's a little weird..I certainly don't want to be eatting baby powder later! Ick..woops, there I go again

LOL! We do *do* it other places too :) HOLY CRAP, I just posted a well-thought out load of bologne and accidently erased it when I hit the wrong key! LOL! I think the danger in these forums is that expressions can't be 'read' and words aren't always adequate to show what we're feeling when we say them. Things sometimes get lost in the translation when people are discussing things by typing alone that you might understand differently if you could hear the tone or see their face. There is also the occassional hot-headed verbalization we all do from time-to-time in frustration. But some good information and healthy discussions happen every so often on here and I really think I've gotten some viewpoints I might not have had otherwise. It's like when you jump at a certain place for a long time, you tend to start seeing things from one side, the one of the people you jump with. Gear at a certain DZ, if you've noticed, a lot of times runs towards one manufacturer. Canopies, containers, Cypress or not, and so forth. It's good to hear the alternatives, so long as we express them in an adult fashion I think. There-in lies the danger :) Everyone VERY MUCH needs to make their own opinions...take in a full thread, not just one post then go on, not getting the 'rest of the story' through someone else's eyes if there is one. It's like the Chicago thread...I read the first part and thought certain things, then read on and found that there may be more to it. I'm glad I read on. Then I can form my own opinion as best I can. That's still more info then I would've known without the forums, reviews on DZ.com, and so forth. While I was a student, I asked a lot of questions about problems that I had and so forth. I got a hundred different thoughts, ideas and opinions on it. I absorbed them, talked to my JM whom I trusted about them, and even tried a few of them. Just because someone tells me the sky is purple, I might just wanna see for myself :) (Pity Merrick...he gets to listen to me ramble on all the time!

I started to link this to a post, but decided to do it this way instead...just food for thought: My opinion only...as is everything else said here, opinions, viewpoints, views... I, personally, *like* that we can post likes and dislikes about a DZ, manufacturer or whatever the case may be. That's what these forums are about right? You post your views, someone else posts theirs...then the rest of us are able to make our own decisions from there. There are many out there who don't think it's right to post things that are, perhaps, controversial, but shouldn't this be a place to discuss these things, something more then just boobies? Without these forums, I would not have had the opportunity to see many viewpoints on everything form gear to DZ's. I personally want to hear all the perspectives and ideas of anyone who wants to express them, good and bad. The more information, the more informed my decisions. You know the talk is going on anyway, even without it being right here in the open. Isn't it better that it is where YOU can say what you think if you like, rather then not being able to perhaps give another viewpoint to the rumors? Say your piece and let us make our own decisions.
