    I'm so spoiled!

Thanks everyone! And Happy Birthday to you guys too Lisa and JC! Must be the month for them!! 4 others in my office all had birthdays this week also! Thanks Kris :) Yeah, actually my birthday is today, but we celebrated this weekend since it's back to work and 'life' today...not much fun in that! Merrick is setting a pretty high standard for himself buying new rigs for all "major" holidays! Hehe! I can't wait to try out the Sabre and see if the Mirage really is all that they say it is. I'm a little weird tho...I felt bad trying it on again at home in front of my Dolphin, so had to go in the other room. Merrick tried packing it up last night tho...all he can say is "have fun!!". ACK. Meanwhile I'll be praying not to have a reserve ride...it's a friggin 109!! Nothing like surfing in your reserve I guess, eh? LOL! Will have to ask about that :) Thanks for the CD too Kris! Listening to it now ... Merrick didn't like all my choices, but I do! :) Pammi (Oh btw, the strip club in Stillwater wasn't all that bad...not as nice as the one in Tulsa, but still was fun :) Nothing like sitting with the hubby to give a dollar for a bonding experience eh? LOL!) "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." http://trak.to/skydivechick

    I'm so spoiled!

Well, no jumps for my birthday, unfortunately. Weather was as bad as predicted, high winds, stormy :/ HOWEVER...while down at the DZ anyway (of course...where else would we be on a weekend regardless of the weather?!) the DZ owner comes up and is like "come here..I want you to see something". I go into his office and he shows me this gorgeous Mirage container (with a Sabre 135) and jumpsuit. I, of course, had to try it on just cuz it was ssoo gorgeous and I've heard so much about how nice they feel. OOOOHHHH. How wonderful! Then I try on the jumpsuit, just for kicks. It's ssoo perfect!! *sigh* One day. So after I'm hooked, of course, Mike comes in and tells us the price. OH MY GAWD! It's incredibly cheap! The whole sha-bang, jumpsuit, rig, pro-dytter, weight vest, altimeter...just about everything! And only about 40 jumps on the entire rig. The woman who had it quite skydiving. She got remarried to a whuffo who didn't want her jumping anymore. So, we bought it! I have such a wonderful husband :) 2 rigs in 6 months!? By the way...anyone want a Dolphin and Tri? Barely used! Hehe. I love my rig, but now I have one that's going to last me a long, long time and it's perfect for me. I knew I'd have to downsize soon and wanted a better container eventually, just didn't think it'd be so soon! I will jump my Tri until we sell it to get more practice landing, then Sabre, here we come! Happy Birthday to me! :) Thanks for "listening" :) Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." http://trak.to/skydivechick
  3. Those are great pics guys!!! Hey Skreamer...um, now we can actually SEE why you got that nickname...your mouth is open in every pic ain't it?! You look like you're really having fun!! Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." http://trak.to/skydivechick
  4. Yeah, thought of that Ditch...we'd end up having to put in our divorce who gets to jump at which DZ's!! LOL! (actually, probably wouldn't matter anyway, cuz I'm a vindictive bitch and I'd end up cutting a nice big hole in his main - not his reserve, wouldn't want to kill him - but a hole with f*** you written above it that he'd have to cutaway would be fun paybacks for breaking my heart and cutting away from ME! Evil!) "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." http://trak.to/skydivechick
  5. Ah you suck! Same deal here...couldn't offer her better weather in Oklahoma either. *sigh* Rain all friggin weekend. I'm gonna cross my fingers and at least hope for Sunday to be better...they always screw up their predictions, so maybe it'll be for the better this time! Ah shut up, I can dream can't I?!?! 6. Good Grief Froggie! If it wasn't for bad luck.....! "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." http://trak.to/skydivechick

  8. Hey thanks Mountain..missed this post!! Glad to see you joining us Laura! Can't let hubby have all the fun :) I tend to more talking on here then Merrick, but only cuz I'm a motormouth by nature anyway...plus, I have a really boring job so spend way too much time on here during the day when I should be working
  9. That'll be fun! At least you can watch...wait...that's like just getting to watch someone have sex...not nearly as appealing as actually doing it :/ Oh well, better then nothing I guess. You can do like me, get in the mock-up and pretend you're really jumping! hehe Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." http://trak.to/skydivechick
  10. I'm sorry, but that whole dancing in little boys undies was a little too weird for me! Um, that's a turn on? EW! Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." http://trak.to/skydivechick
  11. I think I'm going to have to go back to PLF school myself! My crappy landing last weekend left me bruised all up and down the inside of my leg. Prob'ly woulda been better had I PLF'ed better! Hey Froggie...did ya find that subliminal tape for PLF's yet?!?! Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." http://trak.to/skydivechick
  12. Oh, oh! I hope the fairy visits me too! It's my birthday Monday! The weather sucks this weekend tho 80% friggin chance for rain tomorrow. *sniffle* Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." http://trak.to/skydivechick
  13. Hey now, her new one was nice! I never got to saw the 'flood-suit'. Can't be worse then the 'banana suits' we wore as students Cyber!! "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." http://trak.to/skydivechick
  14. Good for you Diva! Those women can just piss off...you know what their problem is right? They are jealous! They have their fat a$$es and mundane lives to go home to every night! I would join in your bitch, but it's the family that I'd love to scream about. It's all old news tho. We all deal with it, whuffo families. I drank an extra beer or two last night then spent an hour bitching to poor Merrick before I calmed down after talking to Mom on the phone. *sigh* We just need some air :) Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." http://trak.to/skydivechick

All 12 of you who put that you make 50,000 or more SUCK ASS! LOL! Just kidding! I'm sssooo jealous...guess you actually have to go to college and stuff, huh? Hehe Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." http://trak.to/skydivechick
  16. Yeah, I need to pee too, but I'm kinda scared of the toilet now...hehe "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." http://trak.to/skydivechick
  17. Read this on WFFC message board: 4,000 people are injured by tea pots every year. 40,000 Americans are injured by toilets every year. 60% of electrocutions occur while talking on the phone during a thunderstorm. 13 people a year are killed by vending machines falling on them Sheesh...I'll take my chances jumping out of a plane and stay away from vending machines! LOL! Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." http://trak.to/skydivechick

    Q for the ladies

You've already had to cutaway Skymama? "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." http://trak.to/skydivechick

    Q for the ladies

I agree with everyone else who said that muscle memory is the key :) I also have short arms, so student rigs really sucked because it didn't seem like I could quite reach it without bending in some way. Plus, being short, I couldn't arch quite as well as I can now with my own rig. It'll be easier when you get something that fits, but regardless, you should always practice touching all three handles over and over. I touch them at least three times in the plane and a couple times before I even get in. I also have been trying to get into the habit of touching them under canopy as my coach recommended, and in freefall...just so you know that they move a bit in each of those positions and you'll have an idea of where they are then. Or you can be like me, start dieting and working out, and they'll be the first to go! LOL! Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." http://trak.to/skydivechick
  20. That's cool Laura! That's what Merrick and I did, basically. Started dating, topic came up of how I wanted to do a skydive and he said how he'd always wanted to try it also. So we did! We've been diving ever since, and got married last year. You'll love doing it with him! You have someone to listen to you talk about it :) Be patient too...it may be a little while before you can actually jump together (hopefully Merrick and I will be able to next weekend...it took me longer to 'get it' then it did for him!). It's wonderful tho! Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." http://trak.to/skydivechick
  21. ROFL! *blush* Well Shark, what I did and what I intended to do wasn't quite the same! We got out and opened at 6,000'. That's exactly what I was told also...jeans, gloves, long sleeve shirt...nothing about extra shoes tho :/ I had on my regular clothes then my jumpsuit over, then put my booties on cuz I thought it might help my feet slide down the lines easier (had I gotten to do that). We were supposed to have me dock on top of his canopy, slide to the middle cell, hook my feet in the lines, then slide down and sit on his slider with my feet hooked in his risers. Bi-Plane! Here's what REALLY happened. LOL! I tried to stay steady and smooth in one direction. Did some flaring etc according to what he showed me and yelled to me. Before we went up, we had codes, tap his feet, I slow down/flare, running motions with his feet, I let up and speed up. It went really pretty well, then he came up under me, yelled at me to flare, then let it go, but I flared a second too long and it made me dive a little too fast into the back of his canopy, rather then an easy dive to the front. I though "oh shit, I hope these things are as strong as he said they are!". Actually landed on the back of it for a few seconds then basically kicked myself off of it thinking I was going to mess it up for him and 'fell' down behind him. We didn't get to try it again, we were getting too low and we'd decided to stop all attempts at 2,000. It was a lot of fun tho! Very weird coming down on top of someone else's canopy. Awesome!! 22. LOL! Um, Omri, I think I'll pass on the beard
  23. Wow. Thank you for telling us what happened Mike. I'm in awe of you keeping such a clear head during the whole thing...I hope that I will do that well on any malfunction I may have! I'm so glad that you came out of it okay and are here to tell us about it yourself!! Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." http://trak.to/skydivechick

  25. The other thread got me thinking about this. Are there many of you out there who do CRW pretty regularly? I would love to hear and learn more about it. After getting to try it last weekend, I really think I'm gonna try to do it whenever Tony, my coach, has time and will do it with me. It was a lot of fun! I'd like to hear any stories, tips, whatever you guys have about CRW! Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." http://trak.to/skydivechick
