Hmm...I washed all evidence of my buttslide off my new jumpsuit as soon as I got home myself. Then again, I also didn't get any white on my jumpsuit specifically for that reason... I know it won't be the last 'ungraceful' landing I'll have! I hadn't heard that whole 'you don't wash the jumpsuit' thing. Wonder why? *phew* That was less painful then I thought it'd be from Merrick after my 'trained' comments Hey Brandon...where is that sweet wife of yours anyway? She needs to be on these forums too...I'd love to meet her! Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko

NA NA NA NA I won't grow up, I won't grow up, I won't grow up.... I know, I'll go get my tongue pierced, buy a rig and start skydiving...and ... um, oh wait....already did it :/ Boy that's gonna cause problems when I REALLY go thru a mid-life crises! hehe! I still can't believe I married a younger man Skreamer...but ya know, after dating older men for so long, decided I wanted to get someone not already set in his ways that I could 'train'. LOL! Oh, I'm gonna be in so much trouble for that one! *G* Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko

Hey now! Ssshhhh...I've decided that I'm 25 forever, and ever and ever...30 is coming up a little too fast! Ah well, at this point, who cares anymore? I already have accepted things have fallen and they ain't comin' back up thanks to the kiddos *lol* So does this mean I have to be a grown-up now?? (Glad to see someone else knows this song Tee! That was my mom's theme song! HEHE! Merrick thought I was losing it when I walked around singing that one day the kids were making me particularly nuts!) Blues! Hmm...nose between my knees....sorry, got distracted on another thought there for a moment Just kidding :) I haven't done anything with it really Craig...I just go ahead and wrap the tail around the whole thing. I'll have to have someone watch me pack next time and show them...see what they think about spreading it out a bit. I also tend to roll the tail a lot after I get it around to just kinda hold everything together really well and keep it neat. Maybe I'll try rolling it a bit less too... It's really not been an issue since I open pretty high usually...but I'd like to know I can pack it for a faster opening if I wanted to.... Sky-sluts and bitches...what a forum! Hehe! Keep in mind this is from someone who sucks a$$ in freefall but just passing on some info the guy doing coach dives with me told us...that there is a column of air between you and the other person/people coming up between you that you have to really track to 'push thru' when doing RW. Is this true? Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko

Adrenaln - Oh you're def'ly insane....but don't worry, you're in good company here! We're all a bunch of freaks! "They're coming to take me away, ha ha, they're coming to take me away, ho ho...." Anyone else know that old song? I remember listening to it on a 45 as a kid :) Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko

I'm sssooo jealous! What a good time!!! I was stuck looking at clear blue skies, no wind at all and 70 degree weather :/ I at least had my rig with me so got it out, showed off my canopy then re-packed it. You know you're desparate when you pack and didn't even get to jump first. LOL! Thanks for sharing Floaty...er, I mean Skreamer :) Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko

Congrats!!!! And of course you owe beer! Did you really think you'd get out of it? :) Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko

Good to know Karen! I have a Triathlon also and have absolutely loved it so far...she seems to just be so reliable! I don't know about yours, but I can't even stall mine...I've flown in a full-flare forever just trying it out up high. It's pretty cool. I agree with what you're saying Mike...I will have to look for sure next time I jump, but she opens very slowly even tho I don't roll the nose at all...I definately would prefer to have plenty of time to deal with any issues after it does get open...or not! I've even wondered if I CAN pack a fast opening on it? Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko

That's really sweet of you to care about your friend like that Derek. Have you talked with her at all about it? Perhaps she knows what is being said and it's bothering her less then you think? Hopefully she's confident in herself and doesn't care what is said, as long as she's not treated badly too. There are always those that are going to judge a woman for being outgoing, while condemning the 'prissy' girls in the same breath. It's pretty silly. Then, of course, women will get talked about if they have any sort of relations with a man who isn't gentleman enough to keep it private because as much as I'd like to think people are more open-minded nowdays, most really aren't and hold women to a different set of standards then men. (you know how it is girls...we are sluts for something a man would be patted on the back and called a stud for!) Anyway...just let her know that you aren't judging her and want to be friends...get to know who she *is*, not who people say she is, and I bet she'll appreciate it. Pammi (Oh, and perhaps the rumors were started by some jealous women anyway who are not confident enough to get to know Ms. Hot rather then snear at her cuz she is so cute?) That'd be cool! Merrick and I intend on making Quincy our first anniversary trip this year :) Neither of us have been and it'll be almost exactly on our anniversary. Woohoo! "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko

Woohoo!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!! It's a whole new world isn't it?? When you finally start to 'feel' what everyone talks about. It's like just having sex then having GREAT sex...it's all good, but damn the stuff that happens when you know what you're doing is even better!! LOL! You'll get over the door demon too :) I had a JM that told me I *would* get over it and made me start opening it...he helped me the first time or two and now it's not bothering me anymore for some reason. It all comes with time and practice :) Congrats!! Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko

Glad to hear you had such a good weekend Kel! Now THAT'S the kind of stuff I want to hear! It's so hard to get back into 'regular' life after something like that huh??? Pammi (p.s. I agree...no fair on the ultralight! I've seen those fly around my hometown a lot and tried to get them to take me up but never got a chance to! That'd be a blast!) "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko

Congrats Zen! That's really cool! I spent the weekend showing off my gear and letting the family laugh at my vids (really aweful ones they took to help me get over my spins and doing a new exit that totally funnelled) and I think my brother wants to try it now! If he can just get the whyffo to not have a fit over the price of a tandem....he's turning 30 this year, maybe sis will have to just help him out a bit if he'll come down and do it :) Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko

I agree, this sucks. I missed this weekend jumping to visit family and had hoped to come back to some awesome stories from you guys who'd been able to go jump. I come back and see two deaths and possibly a third. So sad . My prayers will be with everyone who knew them and the families. Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko

You're prob'ly right SP. I did a diving exit from 5,000 not too long ago and was a bit unstable causing a rather icky deployment. All was fine, but I could see the same sort of thing happening perhaps if you're holding the pilot chute. A question tho...don't some base-jumpers do something like that? Fruce you crack me up! When are you going to let us see a 'real' picture of you or are you trying to be mysterious and make us look for it like our fearless leader, Sangiro? Getting a little 'drunked'...been a long time since I wasn't getting up early to work or skydive! Pammi "The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko
