I'm so jealous! DMB is playing at the Woodlands Pavillion (45mins from me) tomorrow night and we were going to get tix but couldnt afford them this month. They're playing in Dallas Saturday.Dammit I wanna goooooo!!! *digging out iPod to go sulk and listen to DMB* I saw DMB with freaksister last year and they give a great show.Alot of the fans are hardcore and thats why it sounds like the crowd is singing along...because most of them are.I know we were, but then again we were having fun with the marguritas and a few other things too so we didnt give a shit if we sang badly lol.Plus freaksister is just a blast to party with.I miss her. As I was outside my apartment today I noticed the truck parked next to mine had one of those cheap-o pine tree air freshners hanging from their rear-view mirror.Ok,let me get you in on a little secret, this town is right smack dab in the middle of the Sam Houston National Forest. Its damn near nothing but evergreens here.If he wanted that smell why didnt he just roll down his friggin' window!! Anyone else find someone who needs a Stupid People Award today? "...just an earthbound misfit, I."

  9. I love celtic knotwork and the Claddagh design (for most of you who dont know what that is,its the crowned heart being held by two hands.)So this is my new tattoo!I have several Claddagh rings too.But I thought this would look good on my ankle. (I got this info from an Irish goldsmith who is making a Claddagh ring for me right now in Galway,Ireland.) History of the Claddagh: In the Claddagh the crown represents loyalty, the heart represents love, and the hands represent friendship. It is widely known as a symbol for great friendship. This ancient Gaelic design is also used in engagement rings and in traditional wedding rings for the irish. An original symbol of the "Fisher Kings" of the Galway town of Claddagh, Ireland, (pronounced clada) the design was first fashioned into the traditional ring back in the 17th Century during the reign of Mary II. Legend has it that an Irish young man, Richard Joyce, bound for the West Indian slave plantations - no doubt the Irish Carribean island of Montserrat - was kidnapped himself in rough seas by a band of Mediterranean pirates and sold to a Moorish goldsmith who over the many long years of his exile helped him perfect the skills of a master craftsman. When in 1689 King William III negotiated the return of the slaves, Joyce returned to Galway - despite, it said, the Moor's offer of the daughter's hand in marriage and a princely dowry of half of all his wealth. Back in Ireland a young women had never stopped faithful waiting for her true love to return. Upon which time when he presented her with the now famous Royal Claddagh gold ring - a symbol of their enduring love. Two hands to represent their friendship, the crown to signify their loyalty and lasting fidelity, and the sign of the heart to symbolise their eternal love for each other. 12. Absinthe is my hubby's drink of choice and we import it from France and a few other places.A friend brought us a bottle from Amsterdam once.I cant drink the stuff b/c of the anise in it,which gives it the licorice flavor,(which I think taste nasty!) but we can get some w/o anise,I've just never tried to after my first experience with the stuff. He mixed it properly with the absinthe spoon and sugar etc.(like I said, hes a connaseur of this stuff) but it didnt make me sick it just gave me real bad indigestion. I'll get him to post his experiences and techniques for making an absinthe drink later this evening when he gets off work. "...just an earthbound misfit, I."
