  1. I have over 1000 jumps with a lazy bag. I am very happy with it. Lot's of happy users of them in Belgium. Only be sure that you use it correctly. There are 2 versions of it (with velcro, without velcro) and the mpod (with magnets). If you use packers, be sure that they know how to use them. The two "closing strings" of the (older) velcro version lazy bag must be stowed double folded. If you do that with the non-velcro version, you just have packed a baglock (so do not double fold them
  2. Vigil Pro = standard mode, nothing swooper friendly
  3. I have not read in their post that they question your decision. They only say that with another level of experience (or in other situations) some decisions can be different. Jurgen
  4. Ask the Swedish skydiver (not 100 % sure about the nationality) who killed his own mother when he dived into the tandempair years and years ago.
  5. And even more when one brake is still stowed and the other is released. A few years ago a german skydiver broke his back when he stalled his canopy. He flared with one riser and one toggle.
  6. No. Only if you do 360° or more. You will not reach the activationspeed of an AAD (not student mode of course) with only a 180° or 270°.
  7. I was told during my tandem course by the tandemexaminator : 17 sec to terminal velocity for a drogueless freefall
  8. You know, UK = +300 days sunshine, less than 10 days of rain. They don't earn more, they just have less time to pay the bills.
  9. No you can not. You have the option to manually set it before each jump to a different altitude. It's designed that way in case the take off point and landing zone are at different altitudes. Remember though, every jump. Not just once in the morning. If you truly want it to fire higher, set the *landing zone* higher. Read the manual. Learn how it works. Thanks i understood you could do that I was just hoping they could reprogram and make it perminant. Other AAD's can do this and do not need to be reprogrammed before each jump. It's your choice. But be aware of the higher risk to get a two out situation.
  10. The pilot chute getting out of the spandex pouch. Or when the zippers of your gearbag opens and your main (fieldpacked inside) sneaks out.
  11. Where is the any key on my viso??
  12. Huh? So what are you suggesting? You don't need to skydive either, but you seem to be indicating that an alti is not an important piece of safety equipment for a skydive. If that is the case, I must respectfully disagree. mmmmh please quote correctly. He never said that.
  13. You can choose between 2 completely different solutions, the speed version (cypres) or the swoopmode (argus), each with its own advantages and disadvantages. You can pick the solution that you prefer.
  14. Is it comforting or disturbing to you that Vigil is already on its 3rd development cycle in roughly 5 years? At that pace, they'll have the Vgil V at the same point the Cypres 2 came. Worse is that these resemble a mix of bug fixes and new features, like a new version of Windows. Or that Airtech waited till there was another AAD before they started selling the cypres 2! You never know how many versions of cypres 1 existed because they modifie (or repair) your cypres during the 4year inspection, without you knowing it (for example the static electricity protectionscreen, the bad condensators, ...).
  15. BenediktDE, a friend, had 2 reserverides in 3 jumps. One with a pdr (his own rig) and one with a speed reserve (paratec), a borrowed rig. Before this incident he had already ordered a new pdr reserve. After the reserverides he sold his new pdr reserve and bought a speed. The speed reserve flyes very good and packs as small as the optimum. Gr Jurgen
  16. Congratulations with your son's new wingsuit Jurgen
  17. 1000 jumps is almost brand new x2 or x3 or even more
  18. Or it is broken or it just measured the burble of something (because you kept your other arm under it, you were on your back trying to backfly, ...) Jurgen
  19. Both, some in feet, some in meters. In Belgium most will use feet.
  20. It is not that Aerodyne did not post here, that they did not have contacted their customer. So do not jump to conclusions. I hope that you do not consider posting here by the manufacturer as "customer service". I prefer them to fix my problem and to contact me instead of reading all those posts here. In fact few manufacturers post here and if they do, it's only once a year
  21. It will make it easier for the instructor who has to check you. And if it is easier for him, it will be easier for you too.
