  1. This has been covered many times in this forum...
  2. It's not white, it's #eeeeff.
  3. Quote I say use it to set up a mobile wind tunnel like skymonkeyone described in the wingsuit forum. Now that would be both fun AND NIG NOGGEROUS!*** Not to forget the danger of grievous bodily harm! "It's not an extreme sport if you can't die of massive deceleration trauma."
  4. Isn't that the whole point? You could just burn off the propane, but where's the fun in that? Not bad ideas about helium and NO2 though...
  5. Holland, a year or two ago, could've been in Texel(?). A friend of mine who's been working as a TM there told me about it. As I recall, the passenger was a first time jumper. On the first jump, only the TM wore a wingsuit, on the second one both the TM and passenger had wingsuits on. It was a stunt for a TV-show I think.
  6. Lots of font-definitions in dc.css. I tried the page with a local css-file, and these sizes seemed to work pretty well. font size now --> change to 12px --> 14px 10px --> 12px 9px --> 10px That would be pretty close to the old forum.

    How to

How about: "It's not an extreme sport unless you can die from massive deceleration trauma."?

    How to

"Extreme-sport" is just a word that's used in marketing(extreme skateboarding anyone? or this?). Everyone has a different opinion. Most people who do sports that whuffos consider "extreme", don't want to call their sport an "extreme-sport". It's a rather silly label to put on a sport in my opinion.
  9. The hired help only carried two sacks, so the farmer carried the heavier load.
  10. I think it's a record if they're all on the same video-frame....
  11. > but do you think this might tempting your fate? I've seen a rig with "FUCK" and "OFF" on the handles.
  12. I think you're assuming too much. First, you're assuming that the jumper with the problem remembers that there's a cameraman above him. Suppose he's a recent AFF graduate? Second, you're assuming that the cameraman notices the signal. I haven't jumped camera, but assuming that the cameraman notices a hand signal in the midst of a 6-way relative work jump is too much in my opinion. If you manage to track even a little, at least the videographer didn't get a canopy in his face.
  13. black and yellow. I've posted the pic twice already...
  14. Wow. I just asked how much it would cost to get an insurance that would cover all possible sports in all possible situations. The person at the desk was obviously totally clueless, the best she could come up with was traveller's insurance for 12 months. 720€/year.(As opposed to a whuffo insurance that would cost ~30€/year...) Moron. I hope some other company has a better alternative...
  15. >Actually i keep saying "NO it just pulls the pin before i >hit the ground." They then let me go. So basically you just lie to them. I'm not sure that's a good idea in the long run.
  16. Could someone explain this one to me? Concerning scenario No.3, there were a lot of answers like: -"Get the jumper's attention and signal him to pull." -"Stop the dive, dock on him and give him a pull signal (pointing to his back.)" -"3. Give the classic AFF pull signal, if nothing is done, wave off the dive and track away. " -"3) Stop working, start pointing (which coincides nicely with an AFF pull signal)." -"3, Give the pull signal and wave off." And from experienced jumpers too. If the jumper with the dislodged main pin happens to comply to your "pull" signal, didn't you just kill him and the cameraman? Wouldn't it be better to just wave off, which would also signal the cameraman that it's time to pull?
  17. Woohoo! The dead horse is getting it again! By the way, has anyone found the "UN survey" that the original article refers to? This was also brought up ~1 month ago, but back then no-one could find any mention of the survey from anywhere else than The Telegraph...
  18. >>I'm sure he wouldn't have had a chance in an american courtroom. > >I wouldn't go that far. Fair enough. But the lawsuit would be far from over now, with the entertainment corporations pushing millions of dollars to an army of lawyers... I'm sure Jon had a better chance against Norwegian public prosecutors in a Norwegian courtroom, than he would've had against the army of suits in an American court.
  19. Cold? HA! This morning I walked to work and it was -27C(that's -17F), with some wind thrown in for good measure.
  20. Hey, blame the folks at Z-Hills, I'm just relaying the message...
  21. >never want to outlive my usefulness! Did you think that one through?
