    Z-HILLS PHOTOS

Nice, Jake! When you put your album together before you send it over to the Pro Gallery side I suggest you use the arrange pictures feature to put the files in sequential order. It can help customers to find the photo they want in the skydive, and by the day of the event if you have a ton of pictures. With these new 20D frame rates, it's like watching an old movie!
  3. I was not fishing for freebies, but I figured Jake would have taken a couple of pictures too.. I've seen Tony's pics on his website.. but we need MORE!! ha ha Where are yours from Eloy my friend? Iwan I think Bets' article is due today, she'll let me know which ones were submitted and I'll post the rest. I have a couple of nice ones. I got a completely money shot of the edit: magic carpet exit from the Van. As usual, with her superior camera awareness, GFD is looking right at the camera!
  4. Dude, that picture is actually a fairly svelte one of me in those days. Height/weight is illegal, but SFPD never cared much for those details. Most everybody else uses a cardio stress test. I was obese, but in otherwise good health blood-pressure/cardio-wise. Me in a full sprint in those days was both terrifying and hilarious. A: Fat cops aren't supposed to run, B: Fat cops aren't supposed to be able to run fast C: Being caught by a big fat cop, beaten down, and booked was humiliating. The suspect's homies would high-five me while heaping derision on the poor detainee. The whole baggy pants thing was a great boon too. Poor fellahs tripped themselves up more often than not.
  5. I have this great recurring dream where everything is going according to plan and everybody listens to everybody else, everything is on time and we all get along. Like that Jim Carrey movie. It's very weird.
  6. Depends on how close people get. This one was taken with a 14mm aspherical. It's about as wide as my .3. For video that is this close, the .3 from Diamond is a good bet. For the rest of us mortals, or simple two-ways, I would suggest not using a wide angle at all, or a .5. You are better getting more in the frame, than less. LouDiamond has a novel solution where he has his top video canted at an angle that lets him tape students without cranking his neck all to hell and gone.
  7. Rapid weight loss program. Go to Safeway. Buy day old shrimp. Leave on counter for 24 hours. Consume. You'll lose the 14 pounds in about 35 minutes, let alone days. I got video on that one. I want to see XXL driving a squad car. Hopefully it will have a sunroof and his head will be sticking out of it like a Fisher-Price toy!
  8. Yep. I got some other really cool pics of Ari under canopy for the JFTC calendar that are similar, but substitute pretty female skydiver for Dave .
  9. Tony Hathaway took them, so there won't be any scanning or freebies. Tony is a full time pro. You should be able to see them on his site, though.
  10. I thought this was going to be a map to where mine ended up. Crap.
  11. It fits her fine. She's been in the sport just a couple of years and it's the best fitting rig she's purchased (according to her). She's on a commercial flight right now, but I'm sure she'll get back on this one herself. Here's another example of another container manufacturer that is nowhere near as cool . The main lift web is going to be off the shoulders under canopy unless the harness is WAY too small.
  12. Eloy is about 800 miles from my house, about 12 hours. I like the drive, but I need to learn to stop and stretch more. I tend to drive it straight through.
  13. I really depends what you want.... You can EASILY spend 2 weeks in Paris or London and only scratch the surface. Yes, you can skim even more buy staying 2 days at each and travel out more, so it really is a case of wanting 1 of 2 things: - do you want to explore 1 or 2 places, taking your time, and getting a litle more settled in each; or - do you want to see it all and not really see anything at all (yes, I am biased... lol) Well, some American folks will only get to Europe once in their lifetimes. A week in Paris and a week in London wouldn't be a bad choice for a two week trip. If it's just one week, then only one country is the only way to go. The 15 countries in 14 day trips should be outlawed. I'm telling you Andrea, Skreamer's place is ideal. You could probably work out a deal where only your boyfriend had to sleep on the couch.
  14. The trains in Europe are the only way to go, especially between countries. They arrive and depart on time, have halfway decent food, and first class upgrades are cheap, on the Eurail pass, and worth it for the longer trips. Check out the BritRail pass website. I think they had a deal that included France, and splitting time between London and Paris would be a great trip with day rail trips to areas further out. The reason passenger train service sucks in the US is that it is secondary to freight traffic, so Amtrack gets put on sidings while container shipments get priority.
  15. Did wrestling photos make it in? I loved those.
  16. I was recently fired based upon the opinion of a very past employer. An employer who opted to pay me a tax free pension for life rather than deal with me. One of the advantages of being a civil servant. In Philly's case it appears they did the private sector version of letting him have (hopefully) several months to find another job where his productivity will be an asset to his new employer. I've seen murders for dirty looks. People are base unless educated and socialized otherwise. I'm very sorry for Kev, but kinda grateful that DZ.com is the reason I can never run for public office.
  17. Holy shit. I am so sorry for you Philly. Never underestimate the baseness of human nature. Glad to hear you got a decent package, hope this turns out to put you in a better employment situation. I am sure you will miss the bear, though. JP
  18. It makes life so much easier! I only need to lose about 1 and a half stone! How hard could that be!
  19. Just remember the phrase "Only the minimum necessary force to detain them." Oh. I loved that one. That one's beauty. Our version went "The minimum amount of force necessary to effect the arrest" "But you ran him over with your car!" "Gimme a break, I didn't shoot him. And he'll walk again."
  20. True fat bastards weigh themselves in stone. I'm checking in on Fridays and Mondays. See you Friday.
  21. My England/Scotland trip wasn't all that bad. The Britrail pass was pretty cheap, and there's no need for a car at all in London. Of course, I spent the first week with my family in hotels I got discounts on from a generous british skydiver, and the second week I stayed on Skreamer's couch and ate his peanut butter while watching "Big Brother". I still can't believe the Portuguese, uh, contestant won. Just go to South Africa and make Sangiro sleep on his couch while you take the pile of animal furs in the trophy room he usually sleep on.
  22. Kinda like those t-shirts that girls wear that say "My face is up here" with an arrow that points up? It's a joke, goldfish-man!
  23. You watched Betsy pack and you noticed the canopy? You just get weirder and weirderer, Izzy.
  24. You guys are killing me. Fridays and Mondays. For the tonnage tolerant the measure is: Starting weight/Current weight/Goal weight/Pounds lost For those with more sense than to put their stats on the internet it is: Starting weight/Pounds lost Now, as expected I've gained 4 pounds in two days because I have been weightlifting and the muscle swelling (pump) holds water. This is the nicest thing about having a body fat monitor scale. I'm not discouraged because my body fat has not gone up, just my mass. For the folks who can afford one, the Tanita body fat monitor scales are really great. It can be very discouraging to gain weight while really hungry, and it's nice to know it's just water.
