  1. Started January 4, so after 6 days: 213/214/185/+1 Bodyfat is at 19, though, so I think it's just water from this awful cold I have.
  2. Holy crap! Remember this tandem? Way to seriously whoop some AFF ass! They take the Accellerated very seriously in your AFF course!
  3. I'm not a big fan of the kit lens anyhow, but I think anybody who takes their stuff apart and saws on it to make it do something it wasn't designed to do is cool. Again, "their" stuff.
  4. Nope. You'll just be taking the padding out of the helmet to unscrew it. I suggest using a thin sheed of cork between the camera and the helmet. The cork keeps tension on the mounting screw and also helps keep the camera from twisting on the top of the helmet.
  5. Thanks! What a great article.
  6. I've given up on printing pictures at boogalees, and that is what takes up a lot of time. It's all about Shutterfly. The flashtrax or one of the other one's with a screen are the way to go. It is just as fast as if I put it in the reader of my computer, and then it just plugs and charges in the USB hub. It can also hold regular files and folders and is a "regular" fast external hard drive. Self-timer, huh? I figured maybe you were so Ninja-fast you could take the picture and be in it too. Or maybe you had a little pixie assist you?
  7. The 300d and the 20D have a different mirror architecture that allow them to use the new lenses that the 10D can't. I know that has nothing to do with your question, but when you try and put the kit lens of the 300D on the 10D, it won't go.
  8. Well, we use the CD burner for that at my DZ and it works great. For tandems we all pretty much use 256 cards. http://search.netscape.com/ns/boomframe.jsp?query=alera&page=1&offset=0&result_url=redir%3Fsrc%3Dwebsearch%26requestId%3D5ed7bd6b5ce3b32f%26clickedItemRank%3D1%26userQuery%3Dalera%26clickedItemURN%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.aleratec.com%252F%26invocationType%3D-%26fromPage%3DNSCPToolbarNS%26amp%3BampTest%3D1&remove_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aleratec.com%2F Dude $99 reconditioned is a freaking steal. Anyhow, stick the card in the front, push the button do the other stuff "BEEP" give the disc to the customer and off you go. If you want to keep your copies and reformat the card, just put your CD in after the customers to add the files. That works great for customers. For me, I like the flashtrax, cause I put my card in the front, push copy and my pictures are downloaded and ready to manipulate when I get back to my computer. So, for the tandem photography thing, I think the Alera is the way to go. The flashtrax is the way to go when you want to clear your cards and look at pictures. -Hey, nice article and picture in Parachutist this month. How the heck do you get photo credit for a picture you are in?
  9. The problem with the gig card is that is is too much information to fit on one CD. If you use a portable burner, like I do, the 1 gig card won't fit on a single disc. Not a huge problem, but kind of a pain. I have been using a flashtrax http://www.mydigitaldiscount.com/s.nl/c.ACCT139057/sc.2/category.30/.f which is a very simple USB connectable drive with a screen. A little pricey, but nice for looking at, as well as storing pictures.
  10. Thanks for that, Douva! So far I've got some heavy metal and some punk that's good. Still on the hunt for some techno and club mixes.
  11. You're on LT. Too many people in skydiving have been burned by pre ordering boogie video so I don't take orders until I'm shipping. I'll be done before the end of the month. Stumpy! When it's ready, we'll be announcing it here!
  12. Dave, I'm editing video clips right now and I just layed down that track where I docked you and did the elevator ride in my camera suit! Funny stuff! You and your crew were great fun, hope to see you again soon!
  13. Looked pretty scary until I saw that moustache. That's for the locals, yes?
  14. That's cool, Mike, the "team weight loss" thing. I'll be checking in Fridays and Mondays to motivate me to not overdo it on the weekends. If I don't gain from Friday to Monday it's a victory, and then there's 5 days to get a pound or two off.
  15. Have twins before you have a singleton baby, that way you don't know how much harder it is....
  16. That was like Clark Kent talking about Superman.
  17. I just put it back. I think I cleaned it completely. JP (Posting from an impossibly long distance to have committed the crime)
  18. That's what it looked like. You, my dear, are an exceptional student! Kudos! Be careful about that red haired lady you hang out with. Not so much in the air, but she has some scary habits on the ground you gotta beware!
  19. They do a complete release level 1?! Way to go, Jen! Clear to level 4! -I know different DZ's do things different, but that looks like a Cat C/level 3 skydive. Did you do turns and forward movement too?
  20. Woot! After 2 coached hours in the tunnel, what could go wrong? Edited:Oh my gosh...yay, we're getting pictures of it!!! There's that whole canopy emergency procedure thing that makes skydiving different than tunnel time!
  21. I've been celebrating for years then.
  22. How fun! Good luck! PICTURES!
  23. I like the larger and multiple landing areas of Eloy over Perris, but the air tunnel gives it the edge. When Eloy gets the tunnel it will be very hard to beat it. However, if that tunnel ever runs at noon in August you'll be able to bake cookies in there. Z-Hills was pretty epic, too. Really hard to beat all that airlift capacity at SDA.
  24. I refer to myself as "fall-rate enhanced (FRE)". During 6 way scrambles one of the female skydivers on the team I was videoing went low cause she had put on way too much lead. Somebody asked me how the dive went and I replied with something like "one of the divers took a leadership position in trying to motivate the others to increase their fall rate" After a couple of beats they laughed like hell.
