  1. FORDY! "What we have here is a failure to communicate" Where's my whistle?
  2. It's possible to PAL the footage using Premiere, but it's a hassle. Too time consuming for a competition. Next time I have a gig in "PALville" I'll have a PAL camera. I'm have heard there's a hack for most of the ntsc cameras, but I don't know how to do it. Congrats!
  3. PM me. First come first served.
  4. Yeah, get it. The thing with digital is the instant feedback. Go experiment like mad with all the settings and learn was sucks and doesn't. Then you can delete the files. It's not like film where you go out and experiment with 10 rolls of 36 exposure film, have it processed $$$$ and find out what works and doesn't. PX is tax-free? Heck, without shipping costs that looks like a pretty good deal. Plus you can post more pictures here!
  5. That'd be my vote, now that you've worn out my S3! Kris, are you calling me fat and tall? You are right.. I'm a pretty big guy and I jump with a lot of crap on my helmet (sometimes) I'm going for the S3-S Being measured tonight.. and the order is going in..
  6. The sun shines out of our cameras. Trust your camera flier and turn towards them. If the sun shined out the other side (through their ass) you'd be chasing them around the sky like mad. Honestly, the best TM's are also camera fliers or former camera fliers. I TM more often now than I camera fly tandems, but my camera fliers also know I know what they are going through regarding fall rate and landing off etc. Most of my camera fliers are guys I flew camera with on rotation. Anyhow. To the original poster, you don't need to go wider, yet. JP
  7. Sorry, Justi. I broke both my feet back when I worked for a living. Probably worse than back pain. Get well soon. I'm thinking about and praying for you. JP
  8. From the screen grabs you posted I don't think you want to go wider, that will only make your subjects farther away, and your framing there is pretty good. I can't stand tandem video where the subject isn't close enough to really read their expression.
  9. That would be a particularly bad time for ADD, don't you think? I'd recommend a cypres for that. Edited for double entendre (probably misspelled that, too)
  10. Well how cool! You only did that one jump on Sunday? We were the stars of that show. I was on a back-to-back tandem with some woman you seemed to know, I hadn't seen you in forever, got a kiss right before boarding from you and got on the plane. There are few people in the world where a little freindship kiss is so epochal. The GFD is one.
  11. You reminded me of my wonderful adventure being on the camera crew of the Herc Boogie last year. Fall asleep on the climb to altitude on that bird and you miss your chance to jump! The gear comes up, you check your handles, the ramp goes down and you get the hell out! I talk a lot with my peers and students on the rides to alti. Kingair, so it's about 15 min to 14K. Students have lots of questions, so that passes time quickly. When I'm on some bigger way RW thing I just try real hard to remember the points, and if I'm going along to photograph some Freefly, I just visualize myself transitioning from head down to sit and getting the light right. Do you lip read? Since you have hearing aids I would assume you can speak. If possible, conversation is the bomb going to alti. I am often completely hoarse from my loud conversations going to altitude. Conversations about just about anything. Your hearing aids, if they adjust for noise of freefall, would probably be fine under a nice protec, allow them to pick up voices, and keep them secure.
  12. I did the one to get some footage for the Holiday Boogie video this year, and it was fun. Funny, though, it did occur to me that if I started to get nauseaus I could just get the hell out of it.
  13. You're wecome! Once you have that figured out, they are just dynamite lenses! Congrats!
  14. I get mine back someday, right?
  15. Nice ones, Tony! What camera, lens, flash you flying these days?
  16. A functioning hybrid is hereby promised!
  17. None of above, not that's there's anything wrong with them. I'd reccomend a Spectre. Beautiful openings, soft landings, incredibly versatile, and great resale value. FS, swooping, accuracy, CRW and birdman all in one canopy, and you get a good chunk of change for them if you keep them well maintained when you want to downsize, if ever. Like Gareth would ever jump my Spectre 150's, even though they are both in the superior fit and comfort of an articulated Wing's rig with all-stainless, cut-in laterals and tie-die at minimal additional cost. Put the Spectre in that line-up and try it. That's my one and only canopy, now and forever. JP
  18. You foxes rock. I am so glad you are all going to be on the JFTC, but so sorry I won't see you at Nationals. Who still needs a camera flier? Love you, glad you got some donations!
  19. Happy Birthday, Mike. You are one of the best additions to the DZ.com family from the "old" days. Cheers!
  20. And he's a farging bastage as well.
  21. Yeah! When KatieBear got back she gave me a coffee mug from the Starbucks in Kuwait and LouDiamond got me this really neat shorty AK-47! You suck, Clay!
  22. Hey -- hey!!! keep that NOT in there or I'll have to come out there and kick that ass Wendy W. OK! Stop yelling at me!
  23. See?! Remember my "Ass" thread? I can even piss off Wendy without trying! What a gift!
