Yeah, I only later caught the tongue-in-cheek meaning of "cat-aids" myself, when I went to ATS's specific website, and noticed you guys actually had a "cat-aids boogie". Pretty funny, I have to admit. But you can also possibly see how without having cared enough to have "dug that deep", that "the masses" otherwise really (including myself in this one) would have had no clue? You'll also notice, that I did not get all viscerally upset over this or anything either though. I merely retorted with a comment that I (sarcastically) found that really mature. But back to these other, more poignant digs, and attacks and comments though. Why do you "reply" to me by editing your post? It makes it look completely out of context now, my responses to you, and I really don't appreciate that. Notice I am not getting "uptight" about it, or throwing insults or anything. Merely pointing it out as all. I did edit my post as well, but only just merely for SPELLING. I caught only after posting, that I spelled integrity - "intefrity". - DOH! So if you would, please - respond with an actual reply? I would sincerely appreciate that. If it was a simple MISTAKE that Jeff's 11 year old son was brought into this. Please simply say so. Hopefully you will recognize and agree, that would make me a hypocrite. Off-site however, I would always be willing to meet, and chat - yes, probably even laugh and have a beer. I don't take PERSONALLY at all, these "debates" - unless someone MAKES THEM PERSONAL. And I think, with the above as I've mentioned, unfortunately, at least between "your side" and Mr. Napier - that is exactly what I've (from strictly my "outsiders" perspective) seen as has happened. Brett - you seem like a very likable, as well as intelligent guy. Have the integrity to stand up and condemn the actions of casting INAPPROPRIATE PERSONAL ASPERSIONS and attacks (as in sex-offender registry references), and bringing 11 year old people's CHILDREN into their fracus' - and we can continue. Otherwise, by tacit approval, you condone such actions, and unfortunately between me & you, we are done as well. I would not stand by Jeff either, if he did these things to any of you. If your dropzone in Clarksville (Outlaw Field?) has been open for more than 6 months now, as you now say... then why would signs that were JUST being put out by (presumably) yourself, over just the last week or so, and YOUR very own website (www.skydivenashville.com) still have had on it only up until just maybe noon or so yesterday - Directions to someplace in GA? You've just been lucky there, is all. See Jim Alkek's recent thread on the matter, for confirmation/more details. Just as a lot of people have been lucking being able to bring their rig as carryon and not have to open the reserve. Just as a lot of people have been lucky to check their rig and have it arrive unscathed. Neither of those examples either are incidences that have actual rules stating they "have to" happen either. The lead RULE now does. If it slips through, it is lucky. It's not lucky that things arrive unscathed. That should be expected. There is a difference. I see that someone has updated the site between yesterday noon TODAY and today just a few moments ago (between the last few posts maybe even?) now, and the directions at least SEEM to point to a location much closer to Nashville. Again, I am not from the area, so I do not know. I'm not condemning, nor bashing anyone in here. In fact, I don't really even have a dog in this fight, directly, locally, per-se at all. Further explain this part of your statement. I understood the first part and your support and praise for Jan as I share the same feelings, but the last aprt that I quoted here, somehow is a bit confusing. Jan has had my support, and my VOTE, for years. She still does. She knows that. I wish her post could remain. I understood it completely. I will not tell the world the specific direct content of her post at all. I'm sure she took it down for a good reason. Well, maybe not "good" in its literal sense, but I think you know what I mean. Hey Jim. Sorry to hear you had the hassle. That really is the key though with weight-belts. I have never taken mine through security simply because a friend of mine who is a TSA screener told me something pretty much as this guy told you. A-Hole attitude about it all or not aside. If it can not "X-ray through", technically he is correct, that it can not be carried on. The theory behind it is that it could allow someone (terrorists, presumably) to "open it up", and access something (dangerous - like chemicals or explosives) that the TSA could not otherwise see. If it is checked, it can not be accessed directly by you in flight, and theoretically anyway, they have other ways to detect on checked bags, if something has a "device" associated with it, that would have to be automated otherwise in some fashion, to set it off. In short - if I am carrying a weight belt to an event - I will check it. A checked weight belt has never caused an issue that I am aware of anyway. As with ANYTHING else TSA though - YMMV. What would more information on THE VICTIM, and who she was/is, and who her contacts are - do, or would provide to help contribute to any investigation of this? Didn't you say she was robbed on the street, in a foriegn (to her) land? Are you saying it was an inside job? Unless it was - how/what do HER personal background, identity and details contribute? Just trying to understand. Details on the gear (type, manf., serial #'s etc.) so it can be "watched out for" however, might actually be of more help.
