4/24 is now looking kinda sketchy too, weather-wise. Any word yet from Michelle on this? These are VERY worthwhile events, folks! ...If you've not checked 'em out before, or had the opportunity of the 1-on-1 wealth of talent & knowledge Michelle can impart during these - you might want to make note, and put these dates on your calendar(s) NOW. Now if... only the weather gods would also smile down on them, and this could work out for all too!! coitus non circum - Moab Stone

I've received PM's citing instances, where under those conditions then - that indeed ratings (for those with ratings either involved or complicit) &/or memberships (USPA individual and group) have been pulled. Sounds like if you now have knowledge of, or are referring to specific, directly-citable (and therefore "reportable") incidences - then, you should report 'em. Or not. As however your own personal ethics and conscience might dictate. FWIW. coitus non circum - Moab Stone

Pssst - 'twardo... I know that someone like you would come up with good reasons. Just wanted to see if the "kid" was also thinking with his OWN head too here, is all. But thanks for playin'! coitus non circum - Moab Stone -
Presuming you are looking to put this in the container currently holding your Crossfire-150 you've posted about in the other thread - I think this is a good idea for you, and also think that yes - it SHOULD pack-up actually fairly comparably within the rig you currently pack the Crossfire. Good luck with that, and WELCOME BACK TO THE SKIES!! Blues, -Grant coitus non circum - Moab Stone

USPA and PIA Issue Joint Skydiver Advisory

I'll re-ask Jan's question here, because I have not seen the answer to it, and maybe in all the "traffic" it has just been inadvertently overlooked? Per John Sherman: The FAA already knows and in fact initiated the entire study which is what I want released. Then, Jan asks: What FAA study are you talking about? If there is such a document, a FOIA request should be able to produce it. -------------------------------- I will put in for that FOIA request for us. John - Can you specify a little more clearly and directly (perhaps by document title) in particular, what study results REPORT (document) you are looking for? coitus non circum - Moab Stone -

Yeah? For what? Elaborate. coitus non circum - Moab Stone -
Also, when you say rating, are you including coach ratings or (I think you said) instructor? Cat E's, cleared for "self-supervision" can be in-air supervised by a coach, according to the ISP, no? Then, on top of that - wasn't there some sort of recent waivers or waiver-ability to allow for D-License holders (with approval of local S&TA) to also have USPA "permission" to jump with Cat's E-A lic WITHOUT the need of even that (an actual coach rating) too? BTW, not directed specifically at Bill - his post just happens to be the last, I am now replying in general to. coitus non circum - Moab Stone

Really? Can you cite an instance, or instances of this to substantiate that? coitus non circum - Moab Stone

Okay - Little devil's advocacy here, but... 1. Is your profile correct? 100 jumps and jumping camera? No disrespect, but seriously - do you think that could be distracting your "focus" maybe just a little bit too? The video is obviously "clipped", but I don't see in it anywhere, any head movement / airspace clearing whatsoever, outside of the scope of just strictly between your risers! - Even during YOUR toggle-spiraling, right down over the center, post - opening. You open, collapse your slider, and immediately begin a left toggle-spiral, with NO LOOK & no scan beyond maybe 20-30' in front of you. 2. For how long did you see this guy coming? Did he just "come out of nowhere" right at you, as the video seems to suggest? Again - picking up other canopies in the air and knowing where they are well ahead of any near meeting is an important component to avoiding a potential "near meeting" in the 1st place. Remember, it takes 2 to collide - but sometimes only 1 to miss - regardless of who is "in the wrong". Ever heard the phrase "you can be 100% in the right, yet still 100% dead"? So, which is more right: Being "right" and not yeilding at a critical moment, then winding up a double-fatality (but going in knowing your were "right") - or yeilding at that critical moment to avoid because you SAW it coming (if you did see it any earlier than this) even though at that moment you do not think that it is you who is "wrong" - then dealing with it SAFELY later, once all your gear is gathered back up and you are OFF the busy landing area? Just some further THOUGHTS is all. 1st time jumping at a clearly BUSY DZ, and new crowded/congested LZ - for sure too, my very 1st priority is HEAD ON A FRICKEN SWIVEL. Maybe it is for you more than is shown in just this edited clip? But at least at 2 fairly critical times you've shown yourself in even just this clip - IT IS NOT. Remember again - for a collision to take place (or even a near meeting), in any case - It takes two. So, what did the other canopy pilot have to say about all this after you had a chance to speak with him? You did speak with him (or others right there on site who witnessed with you) right? So then, what is here with this - the rest of the perspective? Let's ALL learn as much as we can about this, and consider ALL angles. Hopefully, I've just given you a few more "angles" to CONSIDER here now too with this, is all. Blue Skies, -Grant coitus non circum - Moab Stone

Your feelings are normal, natural - and appropriate! Stick with it. Sounds like your instincts are perfectly where they belong. There are mentors out there (both formally and informally). Just one other piece of advice - as a female in the sport (you, not me ) be careful of those who encourage you to OVERstep your abilities and level just to get "close" to you. Several threads in "Women's Only" I think address this in probably much greater detail. BLUE SKIES! -Grant coitus non circum - Moab Stone

Anyone have any contact information to whomever may be currently still either manufacturing, or supplying these? Any help, guidance or insight on this would be greatly appreciated! TIA & Blues, -Grant coitus non circum - Moab Stone

So, anyone have any factual further info regarding this? - Premature AAD Fire? - AAD Brand & Type? - Further investigation or follow-up to take place as a result of the fire? Looks like in the video, that the fire took place shortly after completion of a backloop. Can we get factual information regarding the actual AGL of that backloop, if it had anything at all to do with this, and the actual AAD fire/reserve deployment alt.? Yeah, it's real interesting and funny - the perceptions of the whuffo media and all ("He's got a lot of jumps, and he's been doing this for a while... he's been jumping for more than a year, and he's got 26 jumps" ) - but it would be nice to know/learn/determine too, maybe a little more out of this one, where clearly we have the ability to as well. Anyone got any of the more pertinent details perhaps, to all this? coitus non circum - Moab Stone

Going to the Puerto Rico Boogie this year Tink? Enjoy that drive! That advice, is simply just not practicable, unless one is willing to severely limit themselves, for sure! coitus non circum - Moab Stone

And by your "rule" above - which provides for a fixed altitude now for this - how is it you suggest to them that they determine whether or not it is, they are gonna make it back? Also, how would that vary (or would it) in the following example scenarios: Their 1st post-canopy-open alt check (after having completed their controlability check) & heading now towards their (presumably also pre-assigned) holding area, is... 1. 4,000ft. 2. 3,500ft. 3. 3,000ft. coitus non circum - Moab Stone

Nice write-up. Welcome to the forums, and to the skies! BTW, in skydiving circles, just FYI - I can attest for you that actually, WestPoint has got some of the better couches and facilities! - To many on here, you probably described something most of us would consider - just short of paradise! I'll watch out for you in the AFF program then, next spring. I trust you'll be just as magniloquent on your write-up of the FJC experience, as well. Oh yes, I can only envisage it all now. I don't know who has a greater anticipation of it at this point - me, or you? Once again - WELCOME to our world. Blue Skies, -Grant coitus non circum - Moab Stone

No, I just play one on T.V. Actually Chuck - you are not one of the one's I was referring to as pig-piling on. Nor, speaking merely to hear your own "voice". Your points are well taken, and I think - even acknowledged even as well, by the O.P. Lots of this thread, which no longer exists - has been thankfully since, chopped by some of the mods. Those in particular who are (or were) the offenders though, still know who they are. You know that you are not one of those. But thanks for playing! FWIW. coitus non circum - Moab Stone

Exactly what she has learned, and why she has posted. Hope that OTHERS now learn from her experience of it, and her consideration, willingness (and yes guts) to post about it, without now having to have their own as a result as well. Those that want to LEARN from others experiences (and yes, even sometimes mistakes) - KUDOS to you! Those that just want to pig-pile on with slings and arrows of critisism, in some cases just to "hear your own voice(s)" - well then, I think you already know where I'm heading with that. THANK YOU surfrgrl1 for having the consideration of your community in mind, and for having the GUTS to endure its sometimes callous and clearly UNTHINKING slings and arrows that pure plain & simple ol' "keyboard courage" (more like cowardice) emboldens some to sling. Something GOOD to come from all this, is that I am absolutely SURE you have caused someone to think maybe even just a bit more about their gear, and hopefully as a result now, made a positive difference... coitus non circum - Moab Stone

Sure I do. You don't recognize tongue-in-cheek clearly, when you see it? Or maybe somehow you just missed that big yellow winky-face with the tongue sticking out of it, that is intended to portray that even more graphically for you? Sheesh man. Chill. If anyone took that SERIOUSLY, then heck, I seriously apologize. How's that? Friggin uptight space this seems to be getting lately. coitus non circum - Moab Stone

How hard is it, to dress yourself up like a student (or don't - who cares?) get a student canopy, get a cameraman on the ground waiting for you, go up do a hop-n-pop (or ANY jump - again, who cares?) AND TAKE THE STILL AS HOWEVER YOU WANT THEM, AND LAND EXACTLY LIKE YOU WOULD LIKE PORTRAYED? Or maybe you just can't even land yourself yet, the way you would like to teach / portray? As the commercial says - "just do it". Done. Simple. Good luck. coitus non circum - Moab Stone

Bettina - I would like to add some of my pictures of Harry, to your page. You can already see them also, on my profile page here, and I have sent you a friend request to do so. I am going to miss Harry terribly. Much love and thoughts to all those now (who are MANY) affected by his untimely passing. :( BSBD - Grant coitus non circum - Moab Stone

Anyone have info as to where - what hospital or rehab facility he may be at, that direct well-wishes (and decent, non-hospital food - how about a good ham sammy right now, spot? ) might be sent? Indeed, I will also add to the > and sincere well-wishes for both a full and speedy recovery, as well here. Blues, -Grant coitus non circum - Moab Stone

Should we start a who's coming from DZ.com and/or a DZ.commer attendee (then meet-n-greet set-up) list? Wow - finally, after like 15+ years, I see DZ.commer's actually starting to know what even a "Delmarva" even is! coitus non circum - Moab Stone
