  1. I really don't know what the brass makes but I assume it in the 6 and 7 figures. But outside of the CEO and a few other specialists, Disney hires from within. Its a great opportunity for many. If you start at a low paying position and take the initiative and get some education, you will move up fast. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  2. I don't think any FAA Inspector would have as much interest in AAD's as they would with TSO'd gear. Their focus is generally aircraft airworthiness and Pilot criteria. Whoever gets ramped check better beware, Each Inspector gets a regular review and the more busts they have, the more brownie points they earn resulting in a bigger paycheck. 3. Disney workers start at $8.00 per hr and work their way up to $20. Then there is management which starts at about $35K and goes up to the mid $80's. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  4. Don't know where else to post it, but I'm sure someone will recommend a different forum. But I think it might be a safety issue. Some jumpers like the smell of jet fuel, but I ruined my weekend because of it. Since the way I jump usually puts me out first, I thought I’d be a nice guy and put my foot on the step while the others loaded the Otter on Saturday. Got a good dose of stink directly from the exhaust of no. 1 engine for at least a minute (waiting for the 4 way teams). I felt like shit for the rest of the day and went home about 10:30 AM after my 3rd jump. I didn’t go back on Sunday as I was still recovering. Reading up on it, I should know better as an aviator. Jet fuels contain benzene and toluene. Breathing this shit can cause pulmonary damage and I got poisoned. No more Mr. nice guy. 5. Ive heard many reasons over the years including the thrill junky stuff, but I personally do it because I find it relaxing and peaceful. Makes my weak go better. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  6. I don't know if the GPS is accurate enough for calculating altitude for skydiving since its an approximate. The one I use in flight is pretty accurate but it may be too slow with freefall speeds. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  7. Actually the southern accent came from African Americans. Most Southerners will deny it but its a fact. Most children were raised by slaves and after that by servants who were black. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  8. I like dogs, but I don't want any of them licking or sticking their noses on me. They are really filthy. When I was little, this little neighbor dog would follow the horses around on the trails by our house and gobble up what the horses left behind, Yummy! LOL, I french kiss my Rottie, just to fuck with people! their mouths are probably cleaner than ours! Yes, they might be leaner than yours, but not mine, since I don't lick my balls, my ass or eat shit off the ground. 9. Any reports of economic recovery are lies. Being in the aviation business for over 35 years and having been through at least 3 recessions, nothing compares to what is going on now. The last 3 years have been pretty bad as far as airplanes sales, but since owners must have an annual inspection on their planes as part of the airworthiness requirements, the maintenance industry didn't suffer all that much. Even that is changing now. Many owners are letting their planes turn into "hanger queens" or "high grass planes" for those who keep them outside. They just can't afford the typical costs associated with ownership. My insurance agent recently told me that half of the owners of aircraft he previously covered were not renewing their policies or changing to only ground coverages. Its pretty bad out there You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  10. It didn't really bother me that much, but I was never willing to let the dog lick me, and she let him lick her hands. 11. Isn't this the same thing that killed the young Thacker kid at the Nationals one year? I was not there but a good friend was and this is what he told me. Maybe rumor - maybe true. Also, a fellow doing a demo at the Abottford Air Show back in the 60's got killed this way. He always said that he would never do a cutaway and he didn't. JerryBaumchen Jerry, Don't know about the others, but the theory sounded good at the time. Why cut away something and take a chance on the reserve not opening? A shame the facts cost these people their lives. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  12. I knew Stoyas, major S&A competitor way back when. I didn't realize that was how he died, I remember stories about playing with the malfunction WAY too long, seeing he was low and just firing the reserve...didn't know it was 'pre-planned'. It very well could be that he was too low and just fired the reserve, but the way he always supported the canopy transfer led me/us to believe this is what he was doing. Since I was the pilot on that load, I can only go by what the people on the ground observed. He did in fact know that he screwed up, as he was shouting on the way down "what am I doing", What am I doing". Very sad, he was a great guy and good friend. 13. Myth. Fact. There are probably exceptions, but since I hang out, fly the airplanes and help at a parachute testing facility, I would put the figures in the high 90% range for an unassisted square with or without brakes to assume down wind flight. 14. Main is out & open, fire the reserve and cutaway the main. Or, if you are jumping a Crossbow piggyback, it may fire the reserve for you, (That was how I did my transfer). Only saw a canopy transfer once. The guy who did it mentioned it a few times that this is what he would do if he had a malfunction, explaining the forward speed of the main would allow for the reserve to inflate. Sounded good back in 1982 and sure enough, this jumper did exactly what he said he would do. He experienced his first malfunction after 4500+ jumps, unfortunately the reserve went right up into his main and he was killed. His name was Jim Stoyas D-60. 15. How about this one from a real classic; "you are Bay far, the dumbest, most pathetic piece of maggot eatin shit that has ever slid from a human beings harry ass. Hint: Christmas Classic for the kiddies
  16. I think the round is safer if a jumper is incapacitated in any way. Either unconscious or with 1 hand/arm unusable, the square will assume down wind flight and the landing could smash your fact with its forward speed. I had a dislocated right shoulder a few years back (Otter tail ran into me) and had to pull silver. Sure wish I had a round since I was basically helpless except for a couple of left rear riser turns. I got slammed on landing. 17. Boy, if someone had a well-stored Strato-Cloud I'd be a buyer. I don't even remember the sq ft but it was the most predictable and fly friendly canopies I ever owned. I think it had 9 cells but someone correct me if I'm wrong. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  18. The media just likes to focus on doom/gloom and twatmuppets. The solution is to turn off the TV and the talk radio. Life is much more enjoyable that way. Yes, you have a point. Listening and watching this shit just pisses me of. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkrHk99jkbc They have proven time and time again they don’t have the character or integrity to work by themselves without supervision. What a disgrace! Look at the 3 fucks standing by the two officers, they should be going to prison along with the other two. The good news is, at least 2 of them are going to jail. Get used to handcuffs, shackles, prison bars, prison transport and some really good times from your fellow inmates that just can't wait for you to get there. Got a relative who was a high ranking officer at a large state prison (hates bad cops too). He made sure cops who were incarcerated there had some special private time with certain inmates. This proved to be very entertaining to the guards. Carry video cams folks, lets get this garbage in jail. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  20. Look em up, the internet is full of them. Besides, I got to get ready for jumpin tomorrow

  22. I think that police are already aware of the need to walk a fine line when it comes to immigration status. The police need the support of immigrant communities to solve crimes. I don't want the police to walk a fine line, "I WANT IT CROSSED". Possibly hurting someones feelings doesn't cut it, we want results. Regarding support in immigrant communities to solve crimes, why is there so many crimes to begin with in those communities? My relatives come to this country and didn't even have to lock their doors in their neighborhoods. They didn't have money, but they had something else, integrity and character. 23. Not true--I've known white males from both Europe and Canada who have been arrested and deported. And rightly so because they were breaking the rules, and even though they were friends, they needed to learn to accept responsibility for their actions. But it puts the lie to the claim that a crackdown on illegal immigration is solely about race. Wrong, or maybe right! Canadians and Europeans don't fill our jails with criminal acts while a disproportionate amount of crime comes from those who came from south of the border. I'm not going into stats here, but just google the financial strain they're putting on our country. I take it personally, this is my tax money and I want them the hell out. 24. If you're a European or Canadian and have over-stayed your visa in the US, the southern border states are the place for you to hide in plain sight: the cops will leave you alone, because they're too busy targeting the people whose Mayan ancestors were conquered and raped by the Europeans. Oops; issue-creep. My bad. I think if you're European or Canadian, you are pretty much left alone anywhere in the US. Regarding the raping of the Mayans by Europeans, it was already gone with only remnants when the Spanish arrived in the 1500's. So there wasn’t much to rape as they already raped and pretty-much destroyed themselves. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
