  1. "he said a friend paid her $60,000 to take more than a dozen suitcases from Los Angeles to an unattended hotel room in Columbus" She Should have rented a van
  2. From post #4 upthread: Thanks for the confirm. Bob saw some of my skydiving pix and awards when he came back for some finishing touches on the house. He also told me a story about the guy in the boat who slowed down and just drove by the waving skydivers looking for help. Still pisses me off to this day. To me that guy was a killer and I could personally drown someone like that without remorse. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime

  4. I vote to keep 'em home. I came to jump, not to have dogs running loose, barking and sniffing people up as they instinctively do. I do like dogs and kitties, but the dz cats don't get in the way and I haven't yet seen one that will get even close to a plane. 6. Howard, I didn't start until 1972 but it was talked about even then. I met a guy in Florida (actually the guy who was building my house) who was supposedly a survivor. His name was Bob Coy. Any lights go on with that name? You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  7. Nice video, but that altitude gives me the willies. I think 2,000 ft would have been more fun. I couldn't tell if the canopy was steerable or not. Thanks for sharing You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  8. Skydiver Driver is a pretty good novel from 1994, but its kind of hard to get. The only one I have seen lately is over $100 on ebay and sometimes you can get one at Amazon.com but its out of print. They do have a few libraries that have them also. 9. I see a fair amount of flaps on other jumpers coming out while getting ready and regularly tuck them back in for them. I never understood this system as it seems to wear down faster than my velcro which has worked perfectly since new. It keeps the flaps nice and tight. I didn't read other threads on it but there must be some of us who advocate the use of velcro as it works for me. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  10. Send 'em back and make the experience memorable. IOW don't be too kind about it. This would discourage future attempts that we are paying for. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  11. I've seen your stuff before. Can't someone post a thread with a link without you tearing it apart on all ends in an attempt to discredit the poster somehow? Is that how a moderator should behave? You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  12. "So I'm Saying"? Don't put words in my mouth. Not comparing apples here? Your way off course. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  13. The visa being referred to is in regards to those who wish to reside there, like our permanent resident visa. I think its a great idea as the article mentions how learning the language for those residents allows them to contribute to society, unlike the US where the Illegals take so much from it. All non-European immigrants to the United Kingdom must pass a basic English language test before being granted a visa under new rules announced by the government Wednesday. http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/europe/06/09/uk.english.mandatory/index.html?hpt=Sbin You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime

  17. a. * the violation was inadvertent and not deliberate; etc. If it were me, it wouldn't have been deliberate and might not be in TK's case. I got my Multi & Commercial together. Certain maneuvers were performed in a single engine aircraft with the final ride in the twin. Only years later did I discover I was only Commercial Multi qualified. I just assumed I was rated in both. I really don't care at this point but I wonder if TK actually knew the difference, I didn't. 19. Remember, the FAA is its own prosecutor and executioner. Not necessarily. There are some ways to avoid sanctions including certificate action. One way is for TK to make a report of his violation to NASA. This is a system which allows immunity however it must be filed within a certain time frame. If the grace period for such filing has expired, there are some other options; http://www.aviationlawcorp.com/content/faasanction.html Used 'em myself in years gone by Lastly, TK is a very honest and a person of high character, and I think this is why everyone knows about what I personally would never disclose to a large group such as ours. Its nobody else's business and safety "is not" an issue here, regardless what the FAA regs say on this particular violation. 20. To quote my comment on youtube; Not much upstairs. Typical of low IQ people who put that stupid excuse for a president in office. Anyone with an IQ over 50 (retarded level) would have seen he is, and was not ever qualified. But this trash put him in office and now we all must suffer. 21. You can legally fly both regular passengers and jumpers with a private pilot certificate. You just can't get paid for it. Yes, you can fly passengers and even jumpers with a Private, you can even share the operating expense, but if those passengers and jumpers are paying for the ride you must have a Commercial. There was a Club exception years ago but I think they eliminated it to where that rating is required as long as someone is buying a seat. 23. Benzene is really bad stuff. I use Naptha which is Benzene but I always wear gloves, it will turn your hands white. The jumper you mentioned might have been jumping out of a King Air. The exhaust comes right in the cabin with the door open and will give you a real good dose. I'm surprised I never payed attention to it before as they say, live & learn You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
  24. Smokers are more tolerant of smoke inhalation since they are acclimated. So in a smoke filled room you stand a better chance, but I don't think I'd take it up just for that.
  25. Sure do and after having one for many years, I feel naked when I make that occasional jump on other gear that doesn't. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
