Little Evidence Jesus Died on a Cross, Says Scholar
captain1976 replied to 3331's topic in Speakers Corner
For hundreds of years bad translations have been made of bad translations that were made from bad translations....... With that in mind, how could anyone possibly know the exact content of the original writings? Exactly, but I like the ones that include reincarnation and no hell -

"I'm really just a boring, conservative pastor and I start everyday reading the New Testament," he says. "But my suggestion is that we should read the text as it is, not as we think it is." Jerry, Which New Testament are you referring to? The market-place is being glutted with new books which are being represented as versions of the Bible. Each one claims to be the very word of God, yet there are literally thousands of differences between them. Protestant translators sometimes did not have access to all of the Received Greek Official Text of the King James version, they sometimes put words into their translations based upon the Latin which were never there in the original Greek. There are a shitload of wrongly translated versus, omissions of important teachings like reincarnation, and inclusions of myths like “Hell”. These exclusions were designed to keep the masses in order. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime -

The Skyvan & Otter are carpeted and have more room, but they all climb about the same. The PAC is certainly more efficient in regards to eating fuel which equates to the continued success of the DZ which we all want. I like the slow lane because it's easier at 60 than 80 to pitch the empty beer bottles at road signs. Right you are, and its also easier to throw your trash onto the side of the road leaving the roadway free from unsightly litter. Maybe because studies show that liberals are on average more intelligent than the opposing parties? Who's study? One performed by the Left? I prefer this study, it has more validity since its filled with truth; http://www.libertymind.com/index.php?page_id=257 You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime -
I don't know why you think the hybred makes a better accuracy canopy. I jumped a 230 Silhouette up until September '09 and went to the Spectre after a few demo jumps. It's much easier to get on target and doesn't have the final approach inconsistencies of the Silo. But for really tight areas I would choose "only" canopies designed specifically for accuracy, they're much safer for that kind of stuff. ...and 83,119 were killed in the USA between 2004 and 2008 http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/cius2008/data/table_07.html Between 2004 & 2008 is irrelevant. The animals have been on the warpath in Mexico only lately. This dysfunctional narco government is helpless as they're killing police, public officials as well as innocent victims. This cannot in any way be compared to the US where similar killings would have immediate and very severe full scale consequences for the offenders. Great Movie. I had a flight school near where they were shooting and when I got there early one morning, my parking lot had 3 or 4 vehicles parked out front with swastikas on them. I guess they decided to use my lot as a staging area for the Nazi's. Anyway I let them keep the cars around back which they did for a couple of days. I also took Henry Gibson for a plane ride around Chicago. You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime

Mojo, Most of us who have spent any number of years in this sport have experienced the grief you are experiencing now. Loosing someone close to us in a jump related incident leaves all kinds of chaotic emotions. The first few weeks are a real bitch and say whatever they may about grief being a normal human emotion, I personally hate it. Its a very depressing time and there's always that feeling that you really won't get over it. Grief really does suck. Every jump we make has an element of danger, and this danger makes many of us think about what would happen to family members if we had an accident. My own Mother says she worries about me and dreads the though of that phone call, but I tell he to remember that I am doing what I loved to do, and if this sport takes me, please understand the years of enjoyment and the family of people I've met was well worth any risks. We didn't jump above 9500 feet back then. It was 2 years later, in Nov '62 that I made a 60 second delay from a 182 at Doc Anagnostis Galveston Skydivers at Midway. Yeah, our normal jump altitude in those days was 7,200 at our DZ with a real occasional 12,500 but that was considered an event. We would all be great-full when the pilot would squeeze another 2 or 300 ft. Even the Gypsy Moths movie was limited to loads at 8,500. I know a lot of pack rats. Its amazing since most don't even remember whats under all the shit. Its kind of fun to go through the stuff when they're gone. I had the pleasure of cleaning out 2 hangers full of airplane shit my Uncle accumulated. Uncovered all kinds of stuff that had been buried for many years. It was also quite profitable as I got big $$$ for some of it. Among the most memorable items were 6 brand new in the crate airplane engines from the 1930's.
