I’ll try and be more reasonable. If you & I were on an airplane, I knew something was wrong with the engine, and that we were going to crash, would you want know about the problem so you could put your parachute on? I’m just trying to tell you that we’re going to have to jump. You are going to die and you don’t know when. I’ve got my parachute on. You don’t. You can’t just wish it all away and say that you don’t believe in the law of gravity. If you jump without your parachute, you are going to die and there is a second death after judgment lasting for eternity. I’m really not trying to preach fire & brimstone to you. You’ve gotten really sick. You go see the doctor. He does some tests and determines that you have cancer that, if left untreated, will be terminal. Would you rather he not tell you the problem since you’re going to die anyway and just give you some pain medication to make you feel better during the time you have left? Or would you rather him tell you, in detail, what you’re up against in order to convince you of the seriousness of your illness so that you’ll accept even a painful cure and follow through with it until you’re healed? This isn’t fire & brimstone. I’m not sitting here screaming at you that you’re going to hell without a reasonable explanation of why. I’m not trying to scare you. I’m just telling you the reality of the situation. I don’t want your money and I’m not trying to recruit you into some church denomination. I don’t even expect you to all of a sudden post in this open forum that you’ve just had some radical conversion experience or not. not at all.. if you cant listen to a lecture and accurately record the important details from it... you arent going to be a very good lawyer.. good, solid note taking skills IS one of the things you are supposed to be learning.(should have learned already actually) Paying proper attention, sorting and recording what is valuable from what is meaningless has broad applications to nearly every profession. those who rely on someone else's ability are cheating themselves, the education system and devaluing the degree the are seeking..it hass nothing to do with competition and everything to do with making sure YOU have the skills to perform the job you are studying for... I already want to fire a recently graduated developer who simply cant write initial design documents.. sure his code is usually lovely, but he can only do part of his job.. why? because his roommate help with/did all the documentation work he was supposed to be learning to do himself... all the modern (and not so modern, frats have long since had test files) sharing of tests, quizes, notes and term papers mean fewer and fewer 'educated' individuals are actually Qualified for the degrees they 'earned'. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

doesnt matter if you are still working extra 'unbilled' hours (for them) ie work a 10 hour shift (charged) then go home and do reports for 3 hours (uncharged).. if it is part of the job, something you needed to do to complete your assigned tasks it SHOULD BE DOCUMENTED.. far to many LEO's work 'extra' hours that never show on the department charts, that means they (the management) have a completely inaccurate metric for how long/hard each shift/officer is working or each task actually takes... it results in unreasonable expectations, additional stress for line officers and lack of real just compensation for everyone in the system.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

My opinion of the situation doesn't matter. The UCMJ is military law, and I will guarantee you that there is not a General officer out there that isn't very familiar with the UCMJ. They are allowed to disagree with the policies of the administration. I would presume that they are even allowed to disagree in a public venue. They are not, however, allowed to trash the administration while doing it. they are however allowed to express those opinions once theyve retired and many have already done so.. and of course that puts the lie to the statement because by both military tradition and the UCMJ article you just qouted.... THEY CANT however the Administration is free to belittle, berate and pass over Fully qualified officers who publically disagreed..
