Nah. The message itself is all that matters. Only clueless drones care about how something is delivered. Well Bush got it right... but he's also avoided the word in his continuing statement... seems some practice paid off.... overall I'd say Bush played to emotional appeal, particularly in his end summary, while Kerry is used his time to better express his position to the public.. Kerry also went to the Bill Clinton school of hand gesture...wither that is good or bad.... Good move on the part of Bush to have his whole family up on stage at the end, it certainly looked better than Kerry and his wife standing alone and the family appeal is something Bush wants to emphasize, but his daughters were obviously very strictly coached..."keep your hands together and in front of you..." But a few minutes before that, you said: Making fun of the vehicle, and not the message? I'll bet you're a democrat. you lost that bet. I was only pointing out that this would be an opportunity for the much expected gaffs. It honestly wouldnt surprise me if Kerry intentionally planned his answer there to say nuclear as many times as possible to provoke the word from Bush...flustering your opponent, making him stumble and appear foolish is simply good debate tactics. do you have any formal debate or public speaking experience? Any entry level speech course will tell you that is bad posture and projects poor position. In public speaking, HOW you deliver your message is at least (or more depending on audience) as important as the message itself. You can have the best writers in the country (and they do) but if you cant deliver it very well you will lose your audience. It is a performance after all, and one of the reasons why Reagan was so successful in his debates against Carter, he was simply an outstanding public speaker. Kerry seems better prepared and is showing much less fluster by Bush's comments than Bush is by Kerry's... simply on basic posture Kerry is winning this one... Bush is having difficulty standing without leaning on his podium... it is certainly not much of a debate as it is, as others have pointed out, a 'dual press conference' but how often has Bush said "uhh... ummmm uhhh" as he collected his thoughts in response? How often has he reverted to catch phrases as rebuttal? chuck's right... last time i was there Sept of last year last i think, the Post itself has been seriously renovated....both housing and training areas, as part of the new digital training and simulation centers, but outside?? its a shit hole and in the middle of no where...but you can get some good crawdads and catfish in a couple of places, there is one really nice, fairly famous 'seafood' place a little ways out on the way to Alexandria, right on the lake, people pull up in their boats and eat on, or come inside for the ‘fine dining’.. live music several nights a week too. The day we went there, there was a college party going on and the eye candy was phenomenal...cant recall the name of the place though…. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
