  6. Bill Booth designed such system approximately 30 years ago. It never went into production.
  7. Based on what? Based on the fact that a meshed PC does not inflate on its side, so in such dificult position (on its side) the meshless PC behaves better (one half of it collapses into another, creating a hemisphere). I believe that in such difficult burble/scenario, the meshless PC is better, ALL OTHER THINGS EQUAL (same burble, same launch angle, same hesitation) So, the situation was bad, but it probally it would have been worse with a meshless PC. The "solution" to hestiation (PC goes up to bridle stretch) happens faster with a meshless PC, I believe.
  8. I think a meshed PC would behave even worse in the same burble.
  9. The report says that it did not function as advertised. It SHOULD function as advertised. That is the reason it is bought, isn't it?
  10. Argus is banned by goverment in Poland after a FATALITY: Accident here: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3817893#3817893 Official government ban notice here: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3824882#3824882
  11. Were there any other variables? Or is all the success attributed to the bag? It is hard for me to believe that all those 14 malfunctins were bag-related, and not something like lineovers, etc.
  12. So, it would be like any other jump on Strong ?
  13. Similar how NOT to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lP-Wm_-bSI&fmt=18

  16. Let me add that this ban was caused by the FATAL accident, where jumper wore Argus AAD.
  17. Another one was when the chest strap tore off during the opening, ejecting the jumper from the harness. So much for the "fail-safe" harness... This happened this decade. Not true. I saw MANY sit-fly videos from the early 90s, and the main pin cover flap often blew upwards, exposing the main pin... Around year 2000, JumpShack added the tuck tubs to the main pin cover flap, in order to address this problem. Also, LOTS of velcro had to be replaced every few months (100 - 200 jumps or so). And then came Racer 2K3 to fix the above and be freefly friendly.

  19. It is an important piece of information, unfortuately it is burried in the other thread, in the Incident forum. Here are quick links to these important posts: Accident here: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3817893#3817893 Official government ban notice here: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3824882#3824882
  20. I believe at UPT it was six seconds, if possible.
  21. Thanks Kelly! Just curious what...: 1 ...type and size of main will be used? 2 ...type and size reserve? 3 ...type of AAD, and how many of them will be used?
